I agree sort of but why were people on Crede last year early when he wasn't hitting. He is supurb on defense and saves runs. Even though our order is great, at some point Anderson has to show signs of being able to do something besides hit a ground ball to the pitcher or pop up. Because of Mack's lousy defense I would vote for playing Anderson every day also, but I can see why Oz would be fed up with Anderson.

I bet the trade rumor is Internet driven. Fans have been talking about it and writers check the Websites and listen to the talk radio. I can't imagine KW calling the Phils after dealing Rowand away so recently. GMs don't call teams begging to get players back that they just dealt. Egos don't allow that.

Why does Anderson get a free pass from so many people? The man is hitting no better than a pitcher would with as many at bats. It's probably because Mack is such a butcher in the outfield. But Oz obviously got fed up with Anderson being an automatic out and has started the dreaded platoon system. We gave up Rowand to get something and I like what we got but our team is hurting without Rowand right now. How can Oz keep playing him when he's an automatic out?

Buehrle's quote from the Chicago Trib tonight shows there is some cause for concern. The team is playing lousy baseball. It's sad because we have the offense and the closer. We just have no middle to set up relievers and the starters have only been good, not great.

Blaming Thome for this is not a good idea. It is ridiculous. Thome has been amazing. We need a Rowand clone in cf which our GM thought would be Anderson. Anderson has sucked offensively, but it is in no way Thome's fault. I do agree with the poster who says Politte needs to be shut down. He is hopeless. Jim made the best suggestion. Send McCarthy down and make him a starter again. Get him some starts. Try to coax one more inning per game out of the starters. The bottom line is we haven't replaced Rowand and we haven't replaced Hermanson effectively. BUT IT AINT THOME'S FAULT! Hail Thome!!!

Texas and Toronto used to be our nemesis before the World Series days. We did OK against both the last couple years I thought.
