  1. I love our team but am not a big believer in our bullpen. My guess is we'll know by the end of April if our pen is going to be a disaster or good enough. I still like our lineup, especially if Thome stays healthy. Even with all the missed opportunities today we win the game if Cleve's second baseman doesn't make a good play on Anderson's slow roller.
  2. Guillen needs to shut the f*** up and remember what it was like to be a player. Yes, but he's now the manager and his comments were good I thought. He said if he doesn't like it he can go home. Well put. Cintron is a part of the team, just like Iguchi. That said, Iguchi is really swinging the bat well. Today's loss was frustrating in many ways but Iguchi was good again.
  3. great Ben Davis mention. Is he through? Never did a guy look better in a baseball uniform (Fisk like) and hit so badly (unless Borchard continues to suck). Poor guy couldn't hit.
  4. I hope Oz plays everybody; feel good victory and hope he gives em the day off tomorrow. sleep in boys.
  5. awesome strikeout; i found willie on pawtucket's roster. he aint gonna ever make it I guess. Not good enough.
  6. Thanks for the Willie info. I checked mlb.com and he ain't on the 40 man roster
  7. I'm assuming we are gonna win, so bear with me on these 2 comments. 1.) whatever happened to willie harris? Do you know what team he's on and if he made a roster? I do not think he did. 2.) I'm a bit surprised Big Hurt is ready for opening day. But he is. It is gonna be weird to have Frank playing regularly for another AL team.
  8. We look good tonight.
  9. That will be pretty awesome if the rest of our pen does the job and BMac gets the win on opening night.
  10. LOL. Why are they booing? That wasn't even close to being intentional. Plunked him right in the back. I wonder how many of the remaining fans have had 8 or more beers.
  11. What a great night for BMac and Anderson. Perfect performances for the young guys
  12. That was awesome. Whoever on the staff decided to send him to the minor league camp or whatever that was to take all those extra at bats is a genius. He's been on fire since then. That home run was incredible.
  13. Resin bags must be expensive. They don't use 'em in high school ball and Babe Ruth, Legion ball I don't believe.
  14. This isn't meant to be critical, I just don't have the answer and am curious. Why would they want to start the game at 11 p.m. with tomorrow's weather to be nice? Is it because they know nobody will attend tomorrow's game on such short notice and there would be no walk up gate at all? Is it because they think we will likely win the game? is it because with an off date tomorrow they can play until the 2 a.m. curfew without it bothering anybody? I just wondered what the reason would be to delay a game that long, especially if it poured so hard. I won't mind at all watching it on ESPN at 11 but it seems like a no brainer to call it off.
  15. we had this same weather front in KC yesterday and it rained all night. I wonder how many fans are sticking it out at the Cell. Probably 25,000 max? Likely 10,000?
  16. Hey Dick Allen: I logged onto whitesoxinteractive.com earlier and was listening to harry caray's audio highlight of Dick Allen's long homer to cf bleachers that just missed Harry's net. It was good stuff.
  17. True but Mark B is finished for the night. We'll have to pitch 5 more guys trying to eke out a sloppy win.
  18. I wish they'd call the game. It's gonna be sloppy crapfest the rest of the way. We don't need to pitch 7 guys tonight. Only reason I wouldn't mind it continuing is Anderson's double. Good to see him on the board so soon. No need for Buehrle's ERA to be this high. He'd have given up 3 runs in 7 inns if the rains hadn't hit. Call the game.
  19. When the game continues, do you like our chances with McCarthy vs. ?? What are the odds of the Sox winning the game?
  20. is the tarp coming off? i thought ESPN recently said the game would continue.
  21. But I swear anytime we get Buehrle a lead he comes out right away the next inning or maybe the one after that and gives up runs. It annoys the piss outta me --I doubt this happens "anytime" the Sox get Mark B the lead. If so, he would not be the consistent winner he is. You'd have to give me some stats to convince me this happens all the time. This sucks the game is delayed. If Mark B can't return, I hope McCarthy has good stuff.
  22. I remember last year somebody posted Oz's email address. Does anybody still have that? If so please post it. Thanx. And Kenny Williams' too if possible. Gracias.
  23. Great post. We definitely have a bullpen that could bite us. IMO Hermy is (was) the key. We need a healthy Hermy. I realize we don't have one. But I think we're one stud body short and it probably is going to bite the Sox in the butt.
  24. I'm glad his name is Boone Logan instead of Logan Boone. I'm sick of all the Boones in the bigs. GO SOX!
  25. I'd take Frank throughout his career. As far as now? I guess Thome since I am skeptical Frank will ever play more than 50 games in a season again. He's going to keep reinjuring that foot.
