AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!!!!!
Anderson still isn't hitting. Has he looked any better at the plate at least? I haven't seen the last couple days since his lousy at bats versus KC.

Boone Logan
He throws big fat meatballs that get rocketed over the wall. Just kidding. He's young and I'm not sure what he throws, either.

Thome vs Big Frank
I like Frank. I would never boo him. I think the fans should give him a standing O. No need to hurt Frank. Deep down he has to be hurt by the fact the Sox won a World Series without him. Ditto Maggs. Ditto Valentin. Sox won without all those guys.

To those who already buried the Sox
I find it hard to believe anybody truly buried the Sox. There always will be negative comments after losses. Every year, every loss. Cause in baseball, there's always somebody to blame, usually the manager.

Heave the Hawk Conglomeration Thread
If it gains steam we can all send our replies to the network. Hawk is awesome. Go Hawk!

Buehrle and Cardinals
Hopefully he'll stay put but obviously it's rare for a guy to be in one uniform for an entire career nowadays. He's been a great White Sox.

Scotty Pods????
It sucks that he isn't 100 percent. With Anderson off to a slow start offensively, we need Scottie to hit some. I hope Anderson starts hitting before Oz starts benching him for Ozuna or Mack, who aren't top notch everyday ballplayers.

sweep predictions
I'd be happy if we just win the series. The Sox have to start winning series. Going 0 for the first 2 isn't good against teams in our division. We need to win our first divisional series and bring the Tigers down to earth.

Not going to panic yet, but something bothers me
Schuerholz was on the radio today pubbing his new book. He said the Braves always build a team LAST turning to middle relief. He says they build the starting staff, the everyday lineup, of course get a closer, then piece together middle relief. Kenny is no dummy. Hopefully this is a work in progress. With Hermy hurt, he needs to get us a Hermy clone and maybe he will. Other than that, I'd start pitching Brandon the bulk of the middle relief work. He looks like the best of a mediocre crew.

Sox vs. Kansas City, 4/9/06, Buehrle vs. Elarton
Thanks Buehrle, Thome and Crede ... we needed that. 2-4 and onward!

Not going to panic yet, but something bothers me
I hated Viz when we had him, but at least he was a veteran. We need some veteran guy out there (who? dunno) to eat up a lot of innings and get us through the seventh and eighth. p.s. I don't like boone Logan's delivery.

A Look on the Bright Side
The alarming thing is we've already faced adversity. Dye is hurt And Hermy is out because of injury. Face facts ... we do need both these guys. Our lineup ain't nearly as potent with Mack playing instead of Dye. And our bullpen no matter how we slice it is suspect without Hermy. We need that extra veteran body. That all said ... our starting pitching is too good for us to suck like this for long. We do need to play great baseball though because face facts, the Indians and Tigers are going to be pretty damn good.

take it easy on ozzie
Tonight, he left Garland in the game far too long trying to squeeze extra innings out of him. Garland was getting hit hard and he ended up giving up the lead I don't know if he left Garland in the game far too long. We're playing the Royals, who on paper, suck. Garland was victimized by that bad play in left by Ozuna also. C'mon. Garland needs to suck it up and pitch in this situation. I don't think you yank him that early. I like Garland and never was part of the Judy crowd, but I wonder if sometimes that California personality doesn't take over, especially getting staked to a big lead against a crap team. Loss of concentration? Or perhaps he just didn't have good stuff. I'd like to have heard Hawk's take on him. What did Hawk say?

What the hell is going on?
Or just not worry? Don't worry, be happy. Dat's baseball.

take it easy on ozzie
Managers are always gonna be blamed when teams lose. He proved he is a good manager last year, period. We can't do better than Oz and I hope we never try to do better than Oz.

Embarassing
I was at the game also. Sorry if these thoughts are rambling. ... Yes it was cold and extremely windy. Unless they changed it, the scorer actually called the Ozuna blunder a hit. Yes it was very very windy but the Royals didn't have any trouble following the ball, just the Sox. I did not sense the game was over at 6-0. Believe it or not, the Royals' lineup is better this year. The Royals pitching appears to suck but the lineup is better. Folks, we might not win today. In fact I expect us to lose game two unless our newest starter kicks some ass. I don't know what to say about Garland's game. Do any of you know how many fastballs vs. offspeed he threw. I know he was at 71 pitches in the fourth inning. Not good. WHo knows what would have happened had the fly ball not dropped in the fourth, the inning of the three doubles. No offense, but when we put an outfield of Mack, Anderson (he's swinging the bat poorly, very badly right now) and Ozuna out there, we are not going to scare many teams. Oz's pinch hit of Gload didn't work out. Worst thing that could happen, d.p. I don't blame Oz, but I'd have preferred Ozuna go ahead and bat with first and second and no out. I think it was Ozuna's turn anyway. I'm not pushing any panic buttons, but it's obvious there is a fine line between having a dominant world championship team and one that struggles. My bottom line: The Royals are better this year, Cleveland is scary good; Detroit is better; we need Jermaine out there. Nice catch, though by Mack in rf. Very nice. GO SOX!

Sox @ KC 04/09
No I won't have my cell phone and wave like a jackass). Great line, LV. I laughed at that. It reminded me how much I hate those dorks doing that on camera. In contrast on the centerfield shot of game on WGN the other day there was a guy in a white shirt with sunglasses sitting next to a woman with a Sox hat on and they didn't move or say a word. It was kind of funny. I'm sure they are good fans but that game had them comatose.

Sox v. Kansas City, 4/7/06, Garland v. Affeldt
Affeldt scares me. He's capable and another lefty. We need to face a righty so Thome can blast 3 or more hrs off the stiff Royals.

No More Complaining About Jerry...
Good post but she also doesnt like the fact that I will get upset and be in a different mood after they lose. It's cool to see this from her perspective. People must shake their heads at true diehard fans like all of us. I thought I was going to go crazy last September as the lead was shrinking. I truly sensed it would be life altering if we blew that lead. I mean how could a lead ever be safe again if we didn't at least earn the wild card. Then the postseason dominance was simply amazing. It was still tense but the mood was great every day as we won game after game. I agree no b****ing about Jerry or KW. They proved themselves to me in all ways. Oz too for that matter.

Sox @ KC 04/09
I'll be there friday.

Not to sound too critical
KC is up next, LOL Don't assume anything. Remember last September when we didn't exactly the roll the Royals. They have a crappy team but Sweeney is capable of blasting a few hrs, DeJesus isn't bad and their lousy starters like Affeldt are capable of a good outing every once in a while.

Drunk Lines At Comiskey...
I was once at a sox game at old comiskey in about the fifth row in lower deck behind one of those rails. A fan was walking by and some drunk in the first row behind the rail leaned over and WHAM smashed the fan in the face for no reason. If you were the poor sap walking by at the exact moment it would have been you. I also remember sitting in the lower level next to a drunk who decided to crucify the ump on every pitch. It grew old after about ... 2 pitches. People need to stifle the drinking. If you have more than one beer every 2 innings me thinks you may be there for the wrong reason. Go to a bar.
-
Not to sound too critical
Is anybody else not crazy about Boone's delivery? He lets his arm out like the Royals' lousy No. 1 Elarton.
-
why are people so upset
I love our team but am not a big believer in our bullpen. My guess is we'll know by the end of April if our pen is going to be a disaster or good enough. I still like our lineup, especially if Thome stays healthy. Even with all the missed opportunities today we win the game if Cleve's second baseman doesn't make a good play on Anderson's slow roller.

Guillen gets a tad upset with Iguchi
Guillen needs to shut the f*** up and remember what it was like to be a player. Yes, but he's now the manager and his comments were good I thought. He said if he doesn't like it he can go home. Well put. Cintron is a part of the team, just like Iguchi. That said, Iguchi is really swinging the bat well. Today's loss was frustrating in many ways but Iguchi was good again.
