No need to blow it up, but I'll say one thing, it's not too early to get rid of Josh Harrison. I promise I won't turn him into my personal Alex Rios of 2022 and will stop blasting him, but me no likey so far. Also I will say it's close to acknowledging "perhaps" several key players in the tank/rebuild era of the White Sox are injury prone. This is not good.

I enjoyed your post until the Stone item. Are you serious? Stone is a delight. He's smart and has a good voice and is pretty ideal in the booth IMO.

This might be the wrong thread to make this comment, but the mediocrity of 6-6 made me once again wonder if playing the same teams in the division 19 times will pretty much doom the Sox to mediocrity. These teams know each other so well that I would think the Sox will get boatraced in a ton of road games vs. division teams. Sox will win a ton of the home games unless they are so bored by divisional matchups. Yeah yeah, Cleveland, KC, Detroit, Minnie, ho hum. Problem is Sox can lose to anybody in that division on a given night on the road. With attendance down in baseball according to reports I heard on the radio today which may or may not be true, it got me to wondering again if our Sox get bored playing these lousy AL Central teams so often. I still think Sox will win the division handily UNLESS injuries persist all season. Sox scrubs are not very good (bullpen is nothing special and when top two starters are out the rotation blows) and so far I'm not a fan of our new second baseman starter and new backup catcher. What was wrong with Collins?

We knew the Sox would stink on defense. Not a good thing with a modern day pitching staff in which a rare LONG start will be 5 2/3 innings.

Minor groin strain sounds like 7-14 days during April. Just my take. Sox get injured a lot.

How concerned should we be is the thread title. ... Not concerned because of today, but the "probability" is the injuries will continue this season. Already some of the oft-injured guys (Moncada, Eloy) are hurt again. Not blaming them but they are injury prone. Also I'd assume the pitching staff will go thru a zillion bodies again this season. So yes injuries are and will be a concerrn. Also, the Sox have a jinx at 2B. That guy who played second last season couldn't hit and this guy from Pittsburgh appears to be another weak bat. I don't know what to think of this team. I've never been enamored with the pitching staff, starters and relievers both. And injuries to everyday players just might mean the Sox only finish 10-15 games over .500 this year. Team was 24 over .500 last year and on paper seems a tad bit worse this year. If suddenly the team is healthy all season, mabe it's a WS contender. p.s. that game two lineup truly was one of the worst lineups in Sox history on a given day (hyperbole, forgive me) ... Harrison (yuk), Haseley (who?), Leury (I mean he is who he is, .077 to start season), Grandal (good hitter), Sheets (off to yuk start sadly), Vaughn (play him every day please), McGuire (yuk), Engel (no offense to Engel but yuk) and Mendick (ugh). My gosh that's a bad lineup, when playing that lineup you hope Grandal, Sheets and Vaughn somehow have their power swings workin' and they combine for 4 homers amongst the three of 'em).

The fallacy of "resting players" of course is on greg's list of pet peeves in baseball. My gosh we act like these guys are playing NFL football, not baseball. If a player needs "rest" have the player not do any heavy sprints that day, no weighlifting, etc. Ripken played every day. Of course this topic will never change. Managers will always be "resting" players. My other pet peeve is we fans complaining about the order of hitters in the lineup. Didn't Bill James the original guru do a study on how a player's position in the batting order matters not?

This is a video game that you reset at 10-0 and start over. No reason to play this game out. Concede and move onto game two. Oh wait not allowed. I am against tanking but I'd tank the rest of this one to get it over with.

Moncada is a great third baseman. I didn't mean to compare him to Hall of Famers. But Moncada is pretty damn amazing with the glove at 3B. Pretty good hitter too. I think he's so good you don't mess with him at all now that he's comfy at 3B. You work around that and that will mean Sox probably need to trade Burger or make him full time DH and trade Vaughn. I like Burger and Vaughn too.

He's great at third. Leave him there. Might have to trade Burger/Vaughn if no room for them.

If I go to a Sox game hungry I want famous corned beef sandwich before game and fries with sprite. During game I want one bottled water and bag of peanuts. Maybe, doubtful but maybe in the 8th inning a hot dog. What does that, parking, and two very good box seats set me back for a game this summer. (Not a very good risk/reward purchase when it could rain during game or be unseasonably cold, etc).? (And also what could bargain. hunters get all those items for?)

What you described has to be close to 40-50 bucks I'd imagine. One big LOL. Not at you, but the system. Unless you are rolling in dough or just flash the credit card at all times, good luck to ya. Modern America sports have eliminated for many what were my favorite memories as a kid. My grandfather would come over to our house, pick me up and drive us to a Cub game during the summer (he was the only member of the family who was a Cub fan and I'd go to Cub games with him in the day and Sox games with my dad at night). He'd buy tickets at the park, prolly between 5 and 10 bucks at the time. I remember getting one of those little pizzas during the game and maybe a hot dog and soda. He would drive us, not sure where he found a parking lot at cub games, but had to pay parking. Probably set him back even a little at those low prices back then to be at a game with the grandkid. Now? Gramps better have a lotta disposable retirement income to take the grandkid(s) to a game and do it right.

I will say Prices at the ballyard are obscene. Amazingly the best deals as somebody said are the ones where u pay 33 bucks all you can eat and drink. Otherwise if you stay the whole game. Burger or sandwich and soda before game about 20 bucks. Hot dog during game 5 bucks? Bottled water 8-10 bucks? 2 beers. 16 bucks. Peanuts 10 bucks for grand total of what, 59 bucks. If you bring wife and two kids? Wow, quadruple that cept for the beer. God bless anybody willing to go to a baseball game and do it right. Peace out.

Burger looks hitterish as Hawk would say. I was against drafting him. I think I might have been really wrong. The guy looks like a hitter. Hope he gets consistent at bats. No room for both Burger and Yoan probably. Sox have three MLB ready prospects in Burger, Sheets and Vaughn. We shall see who gets the shaft in terms of at bats. Nice win again. No complaints here.

I never became a Royals or Chiefs "fan" despite living here for many moons. Growing up in Chicago hooked me on Chicago teams. Royals have a nice little organization that was a powerhouse during the McRae/Brett/Quisenberry/White/Patek/Splittorff/Leonardish years and Chiefs have shown how important a special QB is to success. I personally feel there are many ways to win in sports without total tanking.

I wonder why tanking angers me so. I consider it un-American. Hotdogs, apple pie and trying to win in baseball used to be the standard in USA. Me no like tanking. I like White Sox victories.

I'm not complaining, I just learned the best way for me to get a perfect GPA was to memorize everything in sight. Worked for me.

My high school economics teacher "tried" to teach us about the stock market, sort of. That's it though. No stuff besides rote memorization.

I believe the pipeline Biden closed on his first week of office should be flowing again. I don't understand why the USA has to be concerned about climate change every minute of every day when other BIG countries don't give a flip. Lets produce some oil so we don't have to pay 70 dollars for a fill-up. So sad/disgusting for me to fork over so much cash for fuel in my Camry (cut the outrage that I drive a foreign car even tho it's made in Kentucky). I have a problem with electric cars. a.) allegedly they are EXPENSIVE to purchase. b.) Driving 250 miles to 500 miles is exhausting enuf for those of us who don't like to drive. You can't tell me there will EVER be enuf recharging stations in our lifetimes to avoid 1-2 hour waits to recharge. What about the folks who commute into cities and have 40 minute drives each way. The first time you need a recharge will be too many when u are trying to get to or from work. Call me a climate change hater if u must but I don't see the USA making much of a difference when other countries don't give a flip bout climate change (Putin? Cmon; China? One big LOL). Why us? Why now? What we do is nullified by their actions. I think it's important to keep prices down. Peace out. GO SOX. And please have mercy on my wallet.

You got to use a different store brand name in these type posts bout Greg. I have a thing against Applebee's. I never go there and don't like 'em. Also don't like Cracker Barrell and Waffle House. Friends got sick in them. Not a big Olive Garden fan either and wouldn't be caught in a Red Lobster. Don't like those kind of chains tho I will go in an Old Chicago.
