  1. What's Frank gonna do when he keeps fouling balls off his left instep like all hitters do? Do you think he's pretty much done?
  2. Hey 56, danman made the post and he's made a lot more than you. Me thinks you are in trouble for your personal attack on danman. We lost a game to snap a winning streak. Stuff happens; deal with it.
  3. The Sox have led in every game this year. How is this possible? We have led in every single game??? Amazing. The boys should go out and tip a few in Toronto tonite to celebrate that feat.
  4. I agree it's Iguchi. Boy, it's nice to have that guy out there instead of Willie. Right now I have to tip the cap to Kenny Williams, who I thought was an incompetent boob in the past. I'm glad he's hit the Japan trail for Shingo and Iguchi. Both guys are studs. I just love the way Iguchi knows how to play the game, shifting his body to hit to rf, etc. It's beautiful. And Shingo is a stud. All the moves look good now. If this keeps up, KW will be our GM a long long time.
  5. Nice to see us picking up win after win. As we all know, games in Ape and May are as important as September. It's great we're racking up the wins. Looks like Kenny's pickup of Iguchi was masterful
  6. I like his writing normally, but this time he should give us some praise. We are off to a good start and could use some positive pub. I mean he's got a job because of the Chicago sports scene. The Sox are always the second sisters publicity wise and it's hard enough to fill our park. Our great start deserves some homerism publicity. But he hates Dork and Hawk so he ain't ever gonna praise us. That does suck. Cause right now our Sox deserve some high praise no matter the team's deficiencies.
  7. Good research. It is a fun post to look at. I think the last guy I truly hated was Royce. I wonder if we were 8-18 if everybody would be all over Dye. I think I would.
  8. The best thing about Garland is that as far as I can remember he has never had an injury and certainly does not have the nagging injuries that a guy like El Duque has had a history of --Oops, everybody better knock on wood on that line. If this is the real Jon, I hope he gets a deal similar to Mark B's. We seem to have done a pretty good job of putting together a great rotation and paying them good money but not outlandish. If we win the division this year, I will give KW much credit for his master plan.
  9. 5-0 is Clemensesque. Hope he can keep it up. If he does, the patience KW, Oz, Manuel, et. all have shown in him will have worked out nicely. No matter what happens, great start, Mr. Garland. Good job.
  10. I was disappointed we couldn't get it done at home with bases loaded and nobody out in the ninth. We had to put it away there. And then we have a couple more innings with the last at bat in a tie game before the Tabs score a run. I guess that's baseball, but out ineptitude at the plate cost us a home game against one of our division foes. I'm not down on the team, but it sucks that right after a big win streak we've dropped 3 in a row. Hope we don't make it four.
  11. After this season, move the f***ing fence back Don't do that, but I sure wish everybody would swing like Iggy.
  12. Dye is really killing us. Hope he gets it going. His automatic out is not helping.
  13. Our lead goes from 5 to 1 1/2 in just over 3 1/2 days. --That's baseball. But we shoulda won this one in the ninth. We ain't got much punch in our order that's for sure. Hate to waste another great pitching outing at home.
  14. I think it's great oz speaks his mind. We've wanted the Sox to be more aggressive since passive, yet sometimes effective Jerry Manuel. At least Oz deserves respect unlike that buffoon loudmouth, Bevington. I like Oz's style.
  15. Friday should be packed --Are you kidding me? In April/May, vs. the Tigers? No way it's packed. 25,000 maybe.
  16. That guy can eat it. I love Hawk Harrelson and I bet most sox fans do also.
  17. I loved the comparison somebody made a few weeks ago of dye looking like Michael Jordan when he played baseball. I don't dislike Dye but he sure is an easy out right now. Is Anderson a great prospect? Would we be rushing him to bring him up now? How's Borchard doing in the minors? I'm too lazy to look it up. I say give rf to Joe B!! He can't hit any worse than Dye and when he connects it'll be a 500 foot bomb.
  18. This team is playing so well it's hard to say. If Garland and Crede are for real and Everett keeps knocking in runs like this we'll win the league by 6 games I feel.
  19. What a masterpiece. I'm so glad Oz left him in the ninth. No reason to not let him go all the way. Man was Garland in control. Nice, fluid pitching motion. As dominant as a guy can be in only striking out three or so. Glad Kenny and Oz and Coop didn't give up on him. He looks like he's turned his career up a notch. And he gets us off to a good start in a place we never win the opening game of a series. Way to go, Jon.
  20. I agree, enjoy it while we can. It's better to be this record than 2 below .500. And don't forget our team changes when Frank returns. Just enjoy. We are playing good baseball.
  21. Fantastic post, Jim. That wasn't a rant. It was educational.
  22. I know there's another thread on Joe, but what in the heck is going on? He's become a stud. With his defense, if he can hit .300 allyear like this, wow, we may have something special going. Kill this thread if its superfluous, but I love Joe!
  23. I've never given up on joe, either, so also count me in.
  24. Man we are getting the job done. hope it continues. Who'd a thunk Crede and Garland would look like they belong. All of KW's acquisitions are doing well. We are winning and acting like we are winners. This is awesome. Hope we can keep it rolling.
  25. There's no such thing as a jinx you fruit-cakes I liked the use of the word fruit-cakes in that sentence. Made me laugh more than had you used a cuss word. Good stuff. I don't believe in jinx's either. But it is uncanny how stuff happens jinxish.
