Great article. I like Joe and Mark B, our two Missouri boys. We'll have to see how Joe plays in his first postseason. If he can hit .270 somehow this year and have a big postseason, he may be a White Sox favorite a long time. If he goes hitless in the postseason and finishes at .245, some may want his head on a platter. I like Joe.

As I recall Frank was pretty lovable when he first came up as many players are. He was on his way to be Ernie Banks, but then he got famous and somewhat crabby with the writers, etc. Remember all the times he wouldn't talk for a month or so then be real gracious and talk again. I think he's still been better personality wise than many stars of his ilk. The one thing the writer didn't mention that he probably should have ... I don't think Thomas cares one iota he doesn't "own" Chicago. Harry, Ditka, Ernie cared.

I love Frank. I wonder if he's a lock for the Hall, however. I'm not so sure, though he has blasted a lot of home runs and did dominate the decade like you say. Is he a certain hall of famer? I'd love to hear bill James' take on this.
