As far as bringing up the same stuff, that confuses me. Most of my posts are responding to current news reports and how mad I am as a result of whatever was said on them.

Thank you, sir. I wish we could return to sports and "play ball." Or "drop the puck." Politics and corona are important but we need sports.

Will There Be a 2020 Season?
They sure don't seem to be in any hurry. They're going to talk Friday?? Geez, the clock keeps ticking on the summer. Maybe it'd help if NHL gets the puck rolling with its 24 team tourney format. Get it going, NBA, NHL, MLB, please.

PM me if you have specific questions that I haven't addressed on here. I think I address a lot of questions. Bottom line: I am a huge huge Sox fan who is passionate about "some" world and U.S. issues. That is all. If I'm wrong I'm wrong, but when I discuss things with people in person I don't get the huge disgust I get from some on here. I also try to be polite. Note I haven't mentioned hair or any personal annoyances since I got my hair cut. Issue SOLVED finally by the government opening up.

Hmmm, there are some in between. The people who are a.) starving and homeless from this. b.) confused and scared how they are supposed to feed their 3 kids when they've been laid off work and the mortgage is beyond due and the refrigerator is empty and the credit cards maxed.

Hanging in effigy? Not good. I think it's inciting violence and should be illegal. I know we have rights to free speech but that's sort of "inciting a riot." We need to start working together, but the Congressmen and women and Trump and Pelosi are setting the tone there. FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT; we can't work together. We need to work together before it's too late. (Both sides are at fault; some politicians are way too bossy and power hungry and rude and have angered a lot of people who need to feed their families; also many people are at fault; unwilling to talk it out calmly instead screaming and grabbing their guns for protests).

Let's face it. You don't like folks with differing opinions. Trust me, I read all points on here and I do respond to points made. That's usually when I get caught up and you see five posts in a row from me. They are all responding to points made. Look. I hate masks and I am for opening the economy. That puts me at odds with many many many on here. Reiterating the same points? Look at all the posts on Trump on here. As much as I railed on Kamala and Warren and Abrams, others rail on Trump over and over. it's all relative to what you believe folks and most folks disagree with my positions. Remember I'm a Bernie and Tulsi guy. How many of you are? I am a Jesse Ventura/Huckabee/Joe Rogan/Howard Stern guy. You folks likely aren't. We could go down the line and we'd see how my strong feelings are not shared by too many.

So more fake news. Why bother to watch anything? Watch the video and Fauci is forcefully saying masks are not needed. Now he's saying they are needed? I give up.

Harris? Please say it isn't so. Anybody but Kamala or Abrams as VEEP. ... Also you called Joe "folksy?" You are off your game today, Caulfield. Joe is coming across as mean (he's screaming out his answers too forcefully with his, "Hey man" start to some answers. Should get interesting if the questions ever get difficult if they ever ask him about Ukraine and his son and his arrogant statement on the Breakfast Club. It's unfair he can get away with the "you ain't black" stuff when several careers of people on TV have been ruined by statements deemed racist. And nobody accused of what he's been accused of (yes Trump is accused of even more incidents) can be called "folksy." I don't despise Joe as I did HIllary but I"m not a fan. BTW, Hillary made a BIG MISTAKE in her campaign not going on the Stern show. Ever since her hour-long appearance this year, I don't hate her nearly as much. If she'd have gone on with Howard a couple times she'd have won voters like me. Instead we were left to "despise" her for the reasons I mentioned last election cycle. Play ball! Go Sox! Chet Lemon forever!

Why do u have to compare? I've heard some African Americans upset on TV at Joe's commets like Faulkner who was very upset. At one point does the media start covering this stuff. CNN has nothing on it. This is silly. Joe should face the critics on this one, not have it be swept away. Bernie quit way too early. Bernie should be the next president. Although somebody said his VEEP woulda been Abrams for sure.

How do u know he didn't go to church before the golf? He probably didn't but shouldn't jump to conclusions. My update: 25 people at 5 pm Mass. I wasn't crazy about the folks at the entrances being a little bossy. Why does everybody who gets a little "power" have to act so powerful, from politicians to guards at a church? Whatever happened to kindness? Anyhow ... no music at the Mass, though the organist played a solo of Ave Maria which was tear inducing. My mask was slipping off at Mass' end. It was a 30 minute Mass in a big church with just 25 peeps counting the workers and priest and altar server and organist. She played just the one song. When is McDonald's going to open up for regular hours? Once again some restaurants even though they are allowed to be open for peeps to use the outlets, they ain't open, just the drive through. I snuck in though to use the restroom after spending some time at the park. Of course the park restrooms are locked. Can't open them up, you know? Covid certainly lurks in there. Anyhow, Douglas County has 8 cases of corona. Should be an interesting case study when the athletes return. We could really spike in number when the athletes/students show. Finally, some blast me for going to a 25-person mass. Meanwhile, at the Ozarks ... LETS PARTY!!! https://www.yahoo.com/lifestyle/videos-crowded-lake-ozarks-party-165003815.html

Churches are hurting like most 'businesses.' You make a pledge but they don't kick you out for not paying up. This past month I heard our fulfilled pledges were scant. As far as the tax free thing ... college athletics are exempt too. Why not take the tax break if it's allowed? Our church for 40 years has been run by Cap Franciscans. Look them up. They have no possessions, none. Only exception is if they are a working pastor or priest then can have a car paid for by the parish. Not all churches are rolling in dough. Although have there been massive scandals? Sure.

Zech doesn't know squat. We make pledges every year and fulfill the pledge. They mail you envelopes. I put in money each week to fulfill the pledge. You don't have to make a pledge to be a member. Only something like 40 percent give any money. However, if you aren't a member you can't have a wedding there, etc. You have to sign up and be a member to use the services. I heard our church did OK in getting the pledge money the first month; last month people didn't fulfill their pledges much as we are not a rich parish and they needed the money for food, toilet paper. Yes churches are hurting for money. I'm sure some worse than others. I was upset the doors were slammed shut two months but I fulfilled my donation, calming down and realizing it wasn't their fault we were locked down. We also had and still are having virtual mass online for those uncomfortable going to Mass. Sure the churches need money. Sure we have problems like the lowlifes who abused kids and hopefully all got caught and are rotting in jail. But churches aren't opening only cause they need $$ although they do need cash and some probably will have to close for good now.

Lets please stop talking about 14 people in a church being a hazard. Did you see the tape of the party in the Ozarks released Saturday night on social media/Twitter? Hundreds of people in a pool and on the deck partying with NO concern of COVID. They are swimming, drinking, partying ALL OVER the pool. Hundreds. No masks. Of course not. Let's face it, the very young people don't give a flying flip about CORONA. Young people aren't dying and they are NOT ever wearing masks and having a jolly Memorial Day weekend. Meanwhile, we're discussing greg's Mass of 14 people? Get real. It's over. The country is opened. If this link doesn't work tweet Scott Pasmore. Video of a HUGE party in the Ozarks. Try to copy and paste that link. It's @scottpasmoretv Look at that party and tell me you don't feel silly talking about opening churches. Geez. p.s. The Missouri governor has to be soooo mad when he sees the pix. National Guard on Saturday? There will be hell to pay at the Ozark party pool.

That article scares the bleep out of me. One of those individuals will be our president. The only one qualified is Warren. If Joe has to pick an African American and that by all accounts is the case, then it's Kamala or Abrams for sure. Do u folks truly, honestly want one of those two to be president the next 6-7 years when Joe steps down for health reasons if he has to?? I don't like her at all, but if I had to pick one from that article, I guess it'd be Warren and I despise her. Folks ... anything can happen and if we had a real convention this year instead of a virtual convention on Zoom cause of Corona I think Hillary or Michelle still might run. Hillary more than Michelle. She'd like nothing bette than to swoop in and grab the nomination cause this time it's an automatic win over Trump.

I'm OK with Maher. Thanks for posting that. It's very interesting topic. Yeah I share Bill's concerns. I also want to shop in real stores. I dunno. Is Bezos a real p---k in real life? I'd call him in if I were Donald and talk person to person about how Bezos is ruining our country. Is Bezos that big a d--k that he'd rebel or work with Trump? I'm OK with Maher. I liked him on Stern especially when he gave his take on never being married. He made a good point about not EVER wanting to be tied down. He wants to be able to do what he wants to do always when he wants to do it. In his mind, no wife, no strife.

2020 Catch-All
I say no prison, but a 10 million dollar fine. I wonder if two months in prison is worth 10 mill to Lori L. Or would she say screw it, we need the 10 mill, I'll serve my month with good behavior. This is a bad crime, but cmon, what good is two months is prison? She's no threat to society and she might get hurt in there. I mean yeah a 10 to 15 million dollar fine. I was listening to Biden and he wants no prison time for drug offenses. He wants them to do their time in rehabiliitation centers. Especially marijuana, no jail time for that of course since it's legal in many places. I heard it on the Breakfast Show in which he ended with the controversial statement. Times are changing regarding prison, folks, and Lori L deserves no prison, just an empty wallet/pocketbook. And of course some community service. 300 hours of community service is a lot of work.

Warren would be a popular pick with the masses except for the fact she is not African American. Check out the popular view of her on SNL. Kate McKinnon has her as a likeable choice. The thing is ... Biden now has to pick a black woman. Whether he technically said it or not (or just implied it) the common view is he has agreed to pick a black woman and if he doesn't, he is going to receive so much negative publicity/commentary. Trump will go after him so badly. He has to pick an African American woman and Abrams is the obvious choice and I dislike the pick. What's wrong with Obama? Nobody is backing me on that choice.

Cause church is separate from state. We have unalienable rights. Easier to pray at home, yes. But it's not just me and my selfish congregation. There are examples of religions and people praying constantly throughout the day. It may be easier to pray in a park or at home but there's something about the building we believers enjoy/respect. I always like your posts but think you are off your game on the liquor store response here. Terrible. Liquor stores are about booze and yes the government wants that tax money from them. But cmon. We could booze up for 2.5 months but not go in church. You can't justify that one, sir. You are implying again that the act of going into a church is something not essential. The fact is it is an essential business to the mental health and well being of millions. Do you agree suicide is a problem?

I despised Harris' demeanor in the debates: I felt she had a win at all cost attitude and was as cocky a person (in interviews too) I've ever seen. Very entitled. Only playing the race card. Went after Biden in a sneaky way. Trump-ish in her ego. I prefer some experience in government to be "qualified." Successful experience. For instance I think Pence would be fine. The only thing I like about Trump is I feel he loves America and is out for American interests always in his trade deals and his bossing around of other countries. I'd like to see that continue. I wish Bider was 15 years younger. I think age has ravaged him, but he's going to win and that's fine. Like I said I fear the VEEP because Biden's choice HAS IT MADE in the political world. Will be anointed the next president and I don't want it to be Abrams. Even though I want experience ... if we have to go the celebrity route I'd take Oprah over Abrams. I feel Oprah would have America's best interests at heart as well. Since Hillary's appearance on Howard Stern I "hate" her less than last go round. If it was between Hillary and Abrams I'd take Hillary. Even she would be a better Veep choice. She probably wouldn't have to wait long to be president as I think there is real concern about Joe's health.

Re. Chelsea concerns and now Trump kids: I think the Republicans are finished for a while. I think the Trump victory has awakened Democrat nation and they will win. I think Biden is in, he will step down early cause of health and his VEEP will go the next six, seven years. Very very scared of the end of our country as we know it with Abrams president. I don't like the idea of her and am serious about Michelle O. Why not?? Just talk her into it. Everybody has an ego and wants a place in history deep down. She would be popular VEEP choice and Biden would win in a total landslide. Trump's kiddies have no chance. Republicans are finished for a while to come.

Will There Be a 2020 Season?
You know, the normal NBA playoffs would be totally over in a couple weeks with the draft at the end of June and NBA summer league to follow in early July. The NBA and NHL would be two leagues that would make extreme sense to call off their seasons right now and get in the regular offseason mode for next year. I haven't read the models, but it's obvious a continuation of the season would be some kind of abbreviated playoff format for both sports. It doesn't make sense to run abbreviated type of playoffs. NBA and NHL can break now, have the draft and return to the court as always in late September. Have the summer league with the draft picks. Abbreviated playoffs suck. Baseball should return and have fun this one season. Do some funky scheduling and some weird single elimination tournament in the postseason til u get to the Final Four teams. Then play 2 of 3. We should just gear these sports toward next year. NFL meanwhile can play this year as scheduled with no fans.

COVID-19/Coronavirus thread
No offense, as I did read the article you presented and thank you. Clearly it is a concern because of the examples listed in those stories. Not to be a d--k, but where are the articles about the liquor store patrons who've gotten COVID or passed it on in there? What about Wal Mart and some of the other indoor businesses that have been open. My guess is the casinos that have now opened here would be just as dangerous as churches. Is it unsafe to have a 45 minute Mass taking all the precautions we are taking? That question is kind of moot now since we've opened casinos and movie theatres too. You obviously can't single out churches and close them. Up until last Sunday we'd been closed. I hope the opening of church doesn't cause tons of new cases here but like I said for better or worse, everything has opened up and singling out churches would be grossly unfair and illegal right now where we are in the reopening. I don't see how anybody can say we were selfish at my church. We were closed from March 12 til last Sunday and now are open with a max of 70 spread out all over the church. Liquor stores? Casinos? Movie theatres? Why no anger toward them?? p.s. I'd encourage everybody read this and comment to greg. Worth a peek. .... https://nypost.com/2020/05/21/were-past-the-peak-and-its-fine-to-cheer/

I don't mind Biden. I think he'll be OK settling things down after 4 years of the egoist Trump if he does not have dementia (notice the interviewer Friday had that as his first question) but without a doubt if this was somebody else they'd leave the race today for what was said. He's survived this gaffe again, but I don't know how it can be deemed anything but truly an offensive statement to African Americans. The fact it was a joke at the END of the short interview makes it less offensive because it can be construed as an interview ending joke. But had a fringe candidate said it, bye bye, you are out of the race.
