  1. I heard it is fake on TV I believe it's fake. Nobody is going to make a sign that out of left field. I heard it was actually a sign supporting the first responders.
  2. Don't forget. People are selfish and evil and a lot of this stuff is fake news/photoshop. The Nazi sign is NOT REAL.
  3. From a relative of mine who is a nurse in Chicago: " Its beyond stupid at this point. Only one view is allowed by the liberal media and that is keep the shutdown going. Somehow the plot changed from flattening the curve to keep hospitals below capacity to nobody should ever get Covid. It makes no sense." What do u all think of this?
  4. Little surprised you are predicting Armageddon, Dick. This kind of worries me. I thought some hospitals were close to bankrupt because of LACK of business right now. Your opinion here is why we locked down in the first place, hospitals getting overrun. Are you saying we are not past that concern? Why are so many states then acting as if it's time to open up? Again ... most of these governors are very conservative re. corona and opening up very slowly. Dick ... tell me if I'm wrong. Seems to me you are in favor of lockdown for quite some time to come. Like through the winter? I think people will definitely starve in your scenario and there would be a Civil War as well. Just my take. I'm a little worried about yours since I think you are a regular guy.
  5. Because masks got hoarded. They are unavailable except online where you wait til June to get them. Hoarders.
  6. Great point. One other point. Caulfield did you see Kansas announced it would have class first semester starting in August just a couple days after Missouri first announced it? Kind of sinister. You know it will not happen if COVID is still out there for reasons you suggest. But KU had to announce this to get the $$$, to get the kids signed up for first semester of the 2020-21 school year. If not ... Mizzou might get all the kids. I guarantee you no decision has been made on classes.
  7. Points 5 and 6 ... covid by description is about the worst thing known to man. This is concerning. If China did create this disease to take over the world, it seems to me one more corona like disease created by the Chinese should about finish us off. How could this disease be THIS BAD just by coincidence? If some guy ate an infected bat ... cmon, why wouldn't this or other diseases have started up long ago? If this disease is THIS BAD (the symptoms you describe) and there's a chance 300,000 people would be hospitalized in Florida (initial projections) then why wouldn't the whole country have mandatory lockdown for at least 12 months? Again, parts of the day I read this is no big deal; my brother a nurse in Chicago tells me this is not bad; then later in the day I read your post. Every day is the same ... I read positive stuff then negagtive. Your post suggests pretty much the end of spectator sports, the end of concerts, the end of churh services, pretty much the end of the USA. It really does. On so many levels. p.s. If Texas and Florida really believed covid was this bad why would the governors want to reopen and cause a huge catastrophe?
  8. Yeah but politicians have the right to keep the parks to gatherings of 10 people or less like they are doing restaurants, etc. These politicians are soooo cautious right now.
  9. How long is it going to take to get the teams ready for the season? Traditionally, spring training is about six weeks. Seems to me a decision to reassemble the teams will have to be made within 14 days or so if they want to start by July 1. Will they all just train in Florida since the Florida governor has been insisting corona hasn't been a big problem there?
  10. How come I just saw Florida governor say projections were off by 463,000 hospitalizations in Florida and Florida must open? Not flaming, just saying today's current news tends to say this is not as bad as expected. He's adamant about the projections being WAY off in Florida.
  11. Thanks for the suggestions. I probably should be volunteering but I must confess the "COVID concern" also has entered my conscious and subconscious. Yeah I'm taking all the precautions. I'm not lying when I say I go to the park for about three hours per day with my drive thru coffee and do some puter work and once in a while stop by the church (it's empty). I see no people; hear no people. But I have not volunteered cause that would mean contact with people and I've obeyed the rules.
  12. Great post. I enjoyed your comments about your neighbors and work. I'm trying to not dwell on the fact I've only been talking to real people on the phone, quite a bit. If I focused on the fact I have not seen a real person for a conversation in over a month I might need to be institutionalized.
  13. Don't lose the 8K. Cmon they can't keep the money during a fricking pandemic. Keep us posted. You must get the money back.
  14. Why the hell are case numbers growing (I do accept your statement)? It's NOT FLU OR VIRUS SEASON. Wait til September and October! Flu season, virus season. Can the USA survive what's ahead this winter? There haven't been a ton of stories about what's ahead this winter. Wait til some scientist gives the negative side of that issue? Hoarding? How about unabashed hoarding and no meat available.
  15. I would probably make a good case study. I have talked a ton on the phone the past six weeks but have had very little contact with real human beings. I have said a few words with people at the park and no chit chat with the coffee drive through people. I basically have had no human contact for six weeks yet am not a danger to society. My guess is being on the phone has saved me from hermit-like status.
  16. Who is right? Who is wrong? If this report is correct most of us are going to get the virus. I've said on this board I change my mind all the time on this issue (how can I not with so many divergent opinions thrust on the public??????) and this story puts me in a foul mood. Because I really really catch some awful colds (haven;'t had the flu in a while) in the winter. And I would imagine corona would probably kill me. I get hit hard and I always get a flu shot, but the 2-3 coughs and colds??? Bam. If this story is true, God help us all. And if this story is true .... OBVIOUSLY there will never be crowds at sporting events in the next two years. Are all countries going to be hit this hard? A conspiracy theorist would suggest IF this story is true (and the economy will turn our country into third world status if this story is true) then China and/or Russia COULD use this as an opportunity to get rid of us, conquer us. Think of how weak we are going to be as a nation if this story is true. If as a conspiracy theorist you believe China would love to take over the USA, what better time for them but now. p.s. How can there be so many different sides to one issue? This artilcle? Alarming!! Meanwhile optimism in other articles.
  17. I'm hoping people in your state at least are wary and trying to be cautious with new behaviors. You'd think if they take some precautions the opening up of the state can be handled.
  18. Depends on the business but you make a VERY VERY great point. This will of course happen. Greg likes to be optimistic at all times but I believe MANY people in the work environment making decisions are evil.
  19. Just one of us is in Kansas, baby ... that's greg and he's the guy you can spot with the long hair.
  20. Kansas governor scared silly of corona in a state without a ton of problems issues some lame reopenings starting Monday. She announced bare minimum type stuff tonight in her powerhungry way. No hair salons or barber shops will open for a long long time to come. Greg is gonna have to do something. Wish I had somebody i could trust without corona to chop my hair. I know I ain't got corona at this time. Am scared to have somebody cut it. Don't wanna get corona. Thanks, Guv. And yes I've written the guv a third time and some Republican politicians to express my support for a pair of barbers i know here who literally need cash NOW to feed their families. Oh well, I'll try to stop whining about my personal minor problems. They will open church for services with social distancing. I didn't read how many people will be allowed in on Saturday/Sunday Masses. I have a sneaky feeling my church (a bit conservative) won't be opening up despite being allowed to. p.s. This will be "funny" if our conservative Guv. decides to prohibit grade school, high school and college classes this fall if at the same time the NCAA has a plan for football. Shutting down class first semester means no Kansas football or basketball even if the NCAA decides to have seasons. The rule is no sports are allowed on state schools campuses if the campuses are closed to students. Our guv tonight said life may never be the same. Sounds like a guv who will not be allowing classes to be held for a long long time.
  21. Don't know if that holds water. Why? Let's say somebody is arrested for a severe DUI and doesn't see the light of day (no bail) and is thrown in jail a year or so. They don't let the person detox. It's lockdown and no booze for the criminal. I personally believe liquor stores are open thru a double standard. The governor wants the tax dollars off each bottle. I've talked to a barber friend of mine who is MORE THAN WILLING to work with government on this. Government not interested. It's the power. Governor is happy to know she controls my comfort (hair). Power hungry makes me ill.
  22. I tried to answer everybody's posts tonight. I think this is the last one. ... No it's not vanity. It's America and I just want a haircut after 3 months. Don't know why you call it bullshit when I told you I've complained some but violated no social distancing requirements at all. Your barber paragraph is interesting. Rather than re-but it I'll say it makes sense. I'm not so sure me plastering a mask to my face and him wearing a mask or maybe even one of those hasmat helmets would put barber in danger. Your friend makes sense. But does she need $$. She needs to make a living, too, I would think. I know a barbershop owner here desperate. He needs $$$ for his family. Finally, I don't really understand why liquor stores are open and churches are closed. Oh wait. The state gets tax money off liquor sales. And don't forget the lottery tickets. Also a cynic would say the government is enjoying keeping the churchgoers home. They get nothing from it. Finally ... Obama golfing ... I read some public official got caught at the beauty salon. Greg has obeyed all rules; many others have not.
  23. Thanks for your post. I feel for your situation in all that you outlined here. All of that sucks big time. I am sorry you are going through troubles and pray you and yours will be OK. Your first three paragraphs all are heartbreaking. Sorry. Thanks for the offer. I do stress that my moaning and groaning is because I feel like a lot of people don't understand we are going from being the most spoiled people in the history of humanity and it's difficult to go from having everything to being told we must stay inside. We must do this. Must do that. I feel as if local government are being jerks about it. Your problems are way worse than mine at this time. I don't personally see the problem if I express disgust at my situation on a message board. I feel mental health is important (or was important) and now people laugh and say "suck it up." Two months ago, only the rarest of the rare sucked it up. It's hard to go from a totally selfish society to immediately wanting to obey bossy government officials.
  24. Bless you caulfield. I don't know if u believe in God or not, but I do pray for you and your family. Sorry you are going thru this far away.
