  1. THANKS for asking, Beast. Yes I am alone now. My phases to reopen?: I think things should go back to the way they were right before the lockdown when we were getting "cautious." In other words, yes, reopen the library. Right before shutdown there was one person at a table working or reading, just one. People if they saw someone walking toward them stopped or walked the other way. Yes there will be more germs on door handles, etc. Just don't touch your face or ears or eyes and wash as much as you can. Same rules for restaurants and coffee shops. Let people in but they must be at least 10 feet apart. If it fills up, no more can enter the restaurant til the 10 feet rule is abided by. Church ... three people in a pew; once the church fills up, no more can come in. No giving out of Communion or wine from the cup. None for now. ... Sporting events play them without fans. ... Players do not sit in the dugout, but in the stands spread apart. Let in some fans to sit in the upper deck. Maybe a couple hundred for the entire upper deck. No concessions. My only problem is what to do with college class and high school class and grade school and day care. Not sure yet if schools should welcome students back. I might poll all the scientists and see if they agree it's safe enough to have class with the setup like church. Three in a row in the classroom. (As far as haircut; I won't cut my own. This is America and I will wait til somebody can do it for me). I go to the park every single day and sit in a bench area. I stuffed a lid of a coffee cup or two in the bench to see if anybody else has sit there. If they sat there they would definitely remove the lid. I give myself an A-plus for abiding by all social distancing rules. I have broken none of the rules and have purchased two masks. Peace.
  2. Tex: It's not about trying to look good. Going 3 months so far without a haircut when I'm used to short hair gives me a headache. I don't like it. It's important to note I haven't gotten a haircut despite knowing a spot I can get one. It's not long enough for me to risk getting the virus. Yes I would feel bad, not for myself, but for society if I became part of the problem and "wasted" these first two months of isolation by getting the virus and infecting others. I've done nothing wrong so far. Your second paragraph: I'm a little surprised being from Texas you think government is handling this well. Your Texas governor has been good through this. The Ks. governor very very bad. Your third paragraph: I am willing to express my true feelings. Not all people are the same. I am generally conservative and always been law abiding which probably is why I haven't gotten my haircut despite headaches. I happen to love Texas' handling of the situation so far.
  3. I'm surprised you aren't more worried about the economy, Dick. People I know are. hurting, really hurting. A lot of people believe it or not in America live paycheck to paycheck. And businesses have thrown in the towel early by laying off TONS of people. ... Your line about finishing social distancing makes some sense, but the problem as you know is $$$. Yes opening restaurants will help business and the bottom line. I think it'll help some.
  4. Can't argue with that. Nice post. On the whole, though, government has disappointed me during the pandemic. Local government as well as Trump. Trump's main problem is his ego is so so so big it clouds everything he does.
  5. The economy is a shambles. It will get worse if we don''t open up the cities. We need compromise. We can be shut down no longer. Most people I know have been laid off jobs. This matters as well. Blame the businesses not me and my friends. Some friends are going to be asking for money. They are BROKE. I feel for all healthcare. My brother is a nurse; my niece is a nurse. My buddy is an anasthesiologist. Aside from doctors THE MOST affected by germs. Re. the haircut. I b**** and moan yet still I've obeyed. I'm done for now. I'll return to this thread tonight and give it a rest lest I get in trouble.
  6. How come I don't get credit for OBEYING. Can't I say I want a haircut and need a haircut on a message board? People can ignore my takes if they wish. I have obeyed all orders. I've not had a close conversation with a real person outside of the phone for weeks after weeks. Yes I go to the drive thru for coffee. Is it allowed for me to do so? Yes. Can I help it we've gone from the most free, carefree land to being locked up in the last six weeks? Excuse me for having mental problems not getting used to 24/7 isolation. I thought mental health mattered to all individuals. I may have moaned on here some. Do you not have time to read my posts and dismiss them? They are that annoying? I have obeyed 100 percent. Do I want to go to church? Hell yes. Or get a haircut? Hell yes? Have I done it? No. And yes I know of a place I can get a secret haircut. I haven't done it yet. p.s. It's a danger IMO to let these governors act like dictators. We are not assured freedom unless we keep them at bay a bit. They are not supreme powers!! They are acting like they love this power. Bless America! As we continue to isolate.
  7. So we think it's important for mental health and you are a champion of mental health. Oh that's right, only for certain people? So is mental health important or not? Can you answer? My response is appropriate by the way because you started this "altercation" with your insensitive response. We're offering solutions to business owners troubles. Certain amount of people in the shops, six feet apart at all times, holding masks to face to block transmission. Our solutions don't matter right? Stay in at all costs to the economy and mental health.
  8. Sorry Caulfield, I wish u the best. You are a good guy I bet. My frustration with this situation is some of these governors appear way too power hungry, including the one in Kansas who won't let me get my hair cut. I feel like there needs to be a balance here. The economic impact of this suggests people soon will be dying. Deaths of hunger and being homeless because of layoffs are real. We must compromise and put people back to work. And these power hungry governors need to shut the bleep up with their ORDERS and COMMANDS. I'll proably be arrested before this is all over cause I'm not going to wear a mask at all times. So I'll probably be thrown in jail. This situation makes me understand why so many people want to keep their guns. I never would be comfortable with a gun but I can see why people would feel the need to have one with possible chaos coming if not this pandemic but the next. Take care Caulfield. Hope you pass the tests so you don't get roughed up by that government there.
  9. Nope. This is the USA. Nobody ever cut his/her own hair before the pandemic. I ain't starting now. I'm letting it grow to Spicoli levels. Only problem is long hair gives me a headache.
  10. the long hair is giving me headaches. I need it cut.
  11. This is very scary. Food shortages apparently are imminent which would mean disaster. Riots trying to buy food, etc. Anybody think we can survive this? Talk me off the ledge please, figuratively speaking. https://www.yahoo.com/news/food-supply-chain-breaking-tyson-213539680.html
  12. The only hope is he doesn't have the virus it seems.
  13. Thanks Mags. I ordered two masks from a neighborhood person that I pick up tomorrow. That's all I've been doing, what you suggest except for the mask. Do you think I should go for a haircut? We have relaxed rules Monday but if they don't include barbers I'm considering having a barber who allegedly has a chair in his basement cut it? I am sick of my long corona hair but am wondering if the cut is a bit risky even with my mask.
  14. www.cnn.com Hey, go back two months. We as a society were NEVER allowed to question others' mental health just to make sure it was GOOD. Never forget how easily we human can be triggered; don't forget all the mental health drugs we are on. I need to get out to go to the park and get drive through coffee or I'd go insane. You can't think about others' mental health year after year after year and stop just cause there is a virus. Everybody's feelings must be considered.
  15. Not idiots. How come mental health just two months ago was a huge deal, something we cared about 24/7. Making sure no students were triggered ever; making sure all groups of people like transgenders were taken care of mentally considering the large amounts of suicides. Making sure kids were not bullied. Making sure people were protected at political rallies. Now that we have corona ... it's no concern about mental health. There's the order: STAY INSIDE!!! WEAR MASKS (even though none are available in Kansas). Guess what? Some people need to leave their homes for mental health reasons. And some have to work where there are people LEST THEIR KIDS STARVE. So don't group all people as idiots. I have to get out of my house or I will have mental health problems! But that suddenly doesn't matter? Suck it up they say. You can't go from one stance to another so drastically in 2 months. Mental health matters and economic health matters and some peeps have to leave their homes occasionally. They are not all idiots.
  16. Thanks Pete. My mom had Alz. My grandfather had Alz. And I have a friend whose mom had Alz and he is convinced Joe has early stage Alz. That's neither here nor there though. I'm not the only one to suggest this. You do act as if I was the first to bring this up about Joe. Joe Rogan podcast has had full episodes about Joe having Alz. Do a google on the issue and you'll find stories. It's not me bringing this up. I am heartened by what you wrote about Joe not having behaviors of anybody with Alz. I'll trust you on it and won't bring it up again unless there are developments in the media about this.
  17. I respect your post, but I said they were 2 horrific candidates last time, not just one. I'm not standing up for Trump. Caulfield ... what do you think of my theory that Hillary, Warren or Michelle will be the "savior" candidate at the convention with Biden conceding he has some Alz issues? This is a new world. We never thought we'd be locked down for months in our homes. I think I have made a correct prediction here.
  18. I think Bernie could have beaten Trump. Not Joe cause of his apparent (possible?) early Alz. issues. He doesn't make sense much of the time. Remember this day when greg predicted Warren or Hillary or even Michelle would be the emergency candidate. BTW I'd vote for a healthy Joe. I kind of like him.
  19. Hey Balta, You can't deny (I don't think) that those were two horrific candidates last time and this time? Even worse choices only because God bless him, Biden appears to have mental capacity issues (early Alz?). This isn't just greg watching him lose his train of thought all the time when speaking (did you see his interview with Gore on earth day in which Gore was dumbfounded by Joe's inability to make sense?). I personally feel Warren is going to get the nomination when all is said and done (because of Joe medical issues) and then will probably lose to Trump. Election fraud will be cited (maybe with good reason in this day and age of the Russian/China hacks).
  20. They are hoarding it in Lawrence Kansas I'll tell you that. Total selfishness. Students haven't been here for weeks, turning it into a ghosttown and still the toilet paper can't be found. The stores are packed every day/night. People here have panicked and been so selfish in buying up toilet paper, hand sanitizer, etc. Very sad I can't get any toilet paper in modern America.
  21. It's not your fault but this is a world-changing experience and it is all downhill from here. Why? Germs/virus. They are the hidden killers. And now that they have been proven effective you can bet the ugly countries of China, Russia and North Korea will be creating viruses to continue the work of COVID-19. It's all over and it's not pretty. The food shortages will bring violence and civil unrest. Now I can finally see why people didn't want to give up their guns despite the horror caused by them. They actually may be needed for protection if this thing goes where I envision it going (food shortages leading to fights in overnight lines at stores; invading people's homes, etc). I will say I hope I'm wrong; I pray I'm wrong. I don't want the world to be a horrible place for the rest of time. I want happiness for all. But when I read this virus isn't going away; will only worsen this winter and I see a torn apart country with people unwilling to make decisions for the common good but only poliltical agendas, well again badger, I say it's over. Suddenly, out of nowhere we've gone from a country whose worst problems were hurting people's feelings to a serious threat regarding the end of humankind. Just in a few weeks. (If somebody can talk me off the ledge, please do. Maybe my negativity has been overwhelming since I have been kept from going to church the past six weeks and my mental state is affected by not getting to worship at my favorite place, church. I would love somebody to convince me I am wrong. I sense monetary disaster, riots, starvation and an all out germ warefare assault by our enemies (who most of america don't consider our enemies because that would be insensitive/racist). You better believe China wants us dead.
  22. Scary stories out there about food shortages coming. Especially no meat. Once we start having to stand in line overnight to be allowed to hoard food ... violence will ensue. Just my opinion. If they are going to stockpile toilet paper (and they haven't stopped hoarding it) wait til they get to the food when it's announced shortages are coming.
  23. No way I'm ordering online. Ripoff jerks charging ten times the real price. Shaming for people for not wearing masks is a no no when masks aren't available.
  24. I'll tell you what is really scary. This isn't typical flu/cold season either. Wait til late October through February. God help us. Better get the economy running with word there's about to be food shortages/meat shortages, etc. globally from what I read.
  25. I would certainly think tourism is dead for a long long time to come. Is Vegas airport actually accepting flights from all the countries with people who love to come to Vegas and New York? I thought Trump closed it down to non citizens. Can you imagine a crowded craps table or blackjack table? Casinos are going to be filled with the virus.
