  1. Lets please stop talking about 14 people in a church being a hazard. Did you see the tape of the party in the Ozarks released Saturday night on social media/Twitter? Hundreds of people in a pool and on the deck partying with NO concern of COVID. They are swimming, drinking, partying ALL OVER the pool. Hundreds. No masks. Of course not. Let's face it, the very young people don't give a flying flip about CORONA. Young people aren't dying and they are NOT ever wearing masks and having a jolly Memorial Day weekend. Meanwhile, we're discussing greg's Mass of 14 people? Get real. It's over. The country is opened. If this link doesn't work tweet Scott Pasmore. Video of a HUGE party in the Ozarks. Try to copy and paste that link. It's @scottpasmoretv Look at that party and tell me you don't feel silly talking about opening churches. Geez. p.s. The Missouri governor has to be soooo mad when he sees the pix. National Guard on Saturday? There will be hell to pay at the Ozark party pool.
  2. That article scares the bleep out of me. One of those individuals will be our president. The only one qualified is Warren. If Joe has to pick an African American and that by all accounts is the case, then it's Kamala or Abrams for sure. Do u folks truly, honestly want one of those two to be president the next 6-7 years when Joe steps down for health reasons if he has to?? I don't like her at all, but if I had to pick one from that article, I guess it'd be Warren and I despise her. Folks ... anything can happen and if we had a real convention this year instead of a virtual convention on Zoom cause of Corona I think Hillary or Michelle still might run. Hillary more than Michelle. She'd like nothing bette than to swoop in and grab the nomination cause this time it's an automatic win over Trump.
  3. I'm OK with Maher. Thanks for posting that. It's very interesting topic. Yeah I share Bill's concerns. I also want to shop in real stores. I dunno. Is Bezos a real p---k in real life? I'd call him in if I were Donald and talk person to person about how Bezos is ruining our country. Is Bezos that big a d--k that he'd rebel or work with Trump? I'm OK with Maher. I liked him on Stern especially when he gave his take on never being married. He made a good point about not EVER wanting to be tied down. He wants to be able to do what he wants to do always when he wants to do it. In his mind, no wife, no strife.

I say no prison, but a 10 million dollar fine. I wonder if two months in prison is worth 10 mill to Lori L. Or would she say screw it, we need the 10 mill, I'll serve my month with good behavior. This is a bad crime, but cmon, what good is two months is prison? She's no threat to society and she might get hurt in there. I mean yeah a 10 to 15 million dollar fine. I was listening to Biden and he wants no prison time for drug offenses. He wants them to do their time in rehabiliitation centers. Especially marijuana, no jail time for that of course since it's legal in many places. I heard it on the Breakfast Show in which he ended with the controversial statement. Times are changing regarding prison, folks, and Lori L deserves no prison, just an empty wallet/pocketbook. And of course some community service. 300 hours of community service is a lot of work.
  5. Warren would be a popular pick with the masses except for the fact she is not African American. Check out the popular view of her on SNL. Kate McKinnon has her as a likeable choice. The thing is ... Biden now has to pick a black woman. Whether he technically said it or not (or just implied it) the common view is he has agreed to pick a black woman and if he doesn't, he is going to receive so much negative publicity/commentary. Trump will go after him so badly. He has to pick an African American woman and Abrams is the obvious choice and I dislike the pick. What's wrong with Obama? Nobody is backing me on that choice.
  6. Cause church is separate from state. We have unalienable rights. Easier to pray at home, yes. But it's not just me and my selfish congregation. There are examples of religions and people praying constantly throughout the day. It may be easier to pray in a park or at home but there's something about the building we believers enjoy/respect. I always like your posts but think you are off your game on the liquor store response here. Terrible. Liquor stores are about booze and yes the government wants that tax money from them. But cmon. We could booze up for 2.5 months but not go in church. You can't justify that one, sir. You are implying again that the act of going into a church is something not essential. The fact is it is an essential business to the mental health and well being of millions. Do you agree suicide is a problem?
  7. I despised Harris' demeanor in the debates: I felt she had a win at all cost attitude and was as cocky a person (in interviews too) I've ever seen. Very entitled. Only playing the race card. Went after Biden in a sneaky way. Trump-ish in her ego. I prefer some experience in government to be "qualified." Successful experience. For instance I think Pence would be fine. The only thing I like about Trump is I feel he loves America and is out for American interests always in his trade deals and his bossing around of other countries. I'd like to see that continue. I wish Bider was 15 years younger. I think age has ravaged him, but he's going to win and that's fine. Like I said I fear the VEEP because Biden's choice HAS IT MADE in the political world. Will be anointed the next president and I don't want it to be Abrams. Even though I want experience ... if we have to go the celebrity route I'd take Oprah over Abrams. I feel Oprah would have America's best interests at heart as well. Since Hillary's appearance on Howard Stern I "hate" her less than last go round. If it was between Hillary and Abrams I'd take Hillary. Even she would be a better Veep choice. She probably wouldn't have to wait long to be president as I think there is real concern about Joe's health.
  8. Re. Chelsea concerns and now Trump kids: I think the Republicans are finished for a while. I think the Trump victory has awakened Democrat nation and they will win. I think Biden is in, he will step down early cause of health and his VEEP will go the next six, seven years. Very very scared of the end of our country as we know it with Abrams president. I don't like the idea of her and am serious about Michelle O. Why not?? Just talk her into it. Everybody has an ego and wants a place in history deep down. She would be popular VEEP choice and Biden would win in a total landslide. Trump's kiddies have no chance. Republicans are finished for a while to come.
  9. You know, the normal NBA playoffs would be totally over in a couple weeks with the draft at the end of June and NBA summer league to follow in early July. The NBA and NHL would be two leagues that would make extreme sense to call off their seasons right now and get in the regular offseason mode for next year. I haven't read the models, but it's obvious a continuation of the season would be some kind of abbreviated playoff format for both sports. It doesn't make sense to run abbreviated type of playoffs. NBA and NHL can break now, have the draft and return to the court as always in late September. Have the summer league with the draft picks. Abbreviated playoffs suck. Baseball should return and have fun this one season. Do some funky scheduling and some weird single elimination tournament in the postseason til u get to the Final Four teams. Then play 2 of 3. We should just gear these sports toward next year. NFL meanwhile can play this year as scheduled with no fans.
  10. No offense, as I did read the article you presented and thank you. Clearly it is a concern because of the examples listed in those stories. Not to be a d--k, but where are the articles about the liquor store patrons who've gotten COVID or passed it on in there? What about Wal Mart and some of the other indoor businesses that have been open. My guess is the casinos that have now opened here would be just as dangerous as churches. Is it unsafe to have a 45 minute Mass taking all the precautions we are taking? That question is kind of moot now since we've opened casinos and movie theatres too. You obviously can't single out churches and close them. Up until last Sunday we'd been closed. I hope the opening of church doesn't cause tons of new cases here but like I said for better or worse, everything has opened up and singling out churches would be grossly unfair and illegal right now where we are in the reopening. I don't see how anybody can say we were selfish at my church. We were closed from March 12 til last Sunday and now are open with a max of 70 spread out all over the church. Liquor stores? Casinos? Movie theatres? Why no anger toward them?? p.s. I'd encourage everybody read this and comment to greg. Worth a peek. .... https://nypost.com/2020/05/21/were-past-the-peak-and-its-fine-to-cheer/
  11. I don't mind Biden. I think he'll be OK settling things down after 4 years of the egoist Trump if he does not have dementia (notice the interviewer Friday had that as his first question) but without a doubt if this was somebody else they'd leave the race today for what was said. He's survived this gaffe again, but I don't know how it can be deemed anything but truly an offensive statement to African Americans. The fact it was a joke at the END of the short interview makes it less offensive because it can be construed as an interview ending joke. But had a fringe candidate said it, bye bye, you are out of the race.
  12. Answering your questions ... a.) Why should the church be closed when theatres are now open; our casinos are open. I think so many things are open your question may have been more reasonable a week or so ago. Certainly with theatres, salons, (not bowling alleys yet for some reason), casinos open there is NO REASON to not open church. Grossly unfair. You said the church is not closed; the building is; reasonable argument but for some of us being in that church does matter, a lot. We like being in there and like being able to pray. For some, religion is 80 percent of their lives. Look at other religions beside my Catholicism that include prayer and stoppage of life a few times a day just to pray. Hard to explain but to me the church is closed when the building is closed. I like being in there. b.) I tried the virtual Mass and have watched some. Our parish did that until one week ago. Actually it's still available that way for those uncomfortable in coming to the open church. We still have virtual Mass. It's not like we are reckless rebels. We did the locking of the doors of the church all the way from March 12 til last Sunday when we had it all cleaned up and the regulations in place. Your line "for a bunch of people who think they are so decent," is offensive and If I wrote it I'd probably be banned. We "sacrificed" (your word) from March 12 til last Sunday, then opened for Mass. c.) Not applicable here. We have to wear masks in the building. As far as in public, I explained why I hate masks. Last week at church I touched my face several times in adjuting the mask with my glasses. I had totally trained myself during COVID to never touch my face. Masks annoy me. Sorry.
  13. I don't believe in owning a gun. I've never shot a gun. Hope I never need one.
  14. Abrams? Tell me her qualifications. I want Michelle O. I'd even take Oprah over any of those candidates Caulfield listed. And I'm serious.
  15. Every article I'm reading (today, yes it changes) is talking about how Sweden had it right and we never needed to lock down in the first place. That's neither here nor there, I'm just intrigued by the articles at this website https://www.realclearpolitics.com/ As far as this issue, I take offense to some of you saying we are selfish people wanting churchopen. I described my church's setup. Hand sanitizer at door; three to a (long) pew. People in every fourth pew. Max of 70 in the church (we had 14 for my Mass last week). Priest limited to 45 minute Mass. No singing. We all must wear masks. No hand shaking. Why is this selfish? Our pastor cares. Meanwhile as I told you last Sunday there was a party on a lawn across the street; 50 people, food, no masks. MENTAL HEALTH means something. Church helps mental health. But suddenly we are not talking about mental health/suicides we are talking more about "suck it up, stay home." Why all of a sudden does mental health not matter.?When I had a huge huge mental crisis in life many years ago now I had my hand on the phone ready to call a mental health professional. Instead I chose church. the problem went away in a month. it worked for me. I have been forever grateful to God. I need to go to church constantly to thank him. Also I love worshiping with people. It's the highlight of the week. In a dog eat dog world, church is important to me. Again, why do some of you think the suicides, etc., are not related to this issue and suddenly we as a society go from caring about mental health to not. Also ... cmon. This is religion. It is not wise to let the government slam the doors shut on our churches. You tell me my church isn't safer than a 7-11 right now? If I get COVID, I pray my immune system works and I don't die. I hope we don't spread it. College is about to open here and think of all the students coming back from all across the country. There's more danger there of it spreading through a town that has had 58 cases than anything else. Some of us see church as ESSENTIAL ... way more than a liquor store. How come nobody answers my angry questions of why our liquor stores have been open the whole time and not church??
  16. The interviewer in Friday's controversial interview asked him about a black woman being VEEP and Biden said he's considering many black women. I've read other stories where it will be a black woman. I want somebody qualified because that person will be president someday. Let's assume of the list you gave one of them will be president a year or so after the election. Which do you think can handle the job effectively? None except maybe Warren. Certainly not Harris. Can you guys be honest and tell me you are not scared of his choice of Abrams. My gosh, at this moment odds are at least 50-50 of her being president someday. Did you see the TV show in which she and Biden appeared and the host and Abrams thought he was going to ask her to be VEEP candidate? Nobody still can figure out why Biden wanted her on the show with him. She was not asked at the time. He's not going to pick Warren but reluctantly she would be my choice but only after Michelle Obama. Why the hell not?? Convince her to do it. She won't only be VEEP, she'll be president soon enough. She is smart; everybody loves her. Barack can help advise if she seeks his help.
  17. I watched the whole interview. Biden was very sharp, not showing any signs of losing anything upstairs. Man, his tone is so confrontational. And his answers were so long. No wonder he doesn't do well in debates. He needs time to spit out his long long answers. I'm worried though. He's assuredly going to win the presidency but he's very old and frankly I don't want Kamala Harris or Stacey Abrams to be president. So Abrams is the likely choice for Veep I'm reading. To my liberal friends on here ... calm my fears about Abrams. What the hell makes her qualified to be president?? I'd rather have Biden pick somebody who I KNOW will be a good president. How bout one of the candidates in the primaries? Some of them seemed OK. So he must have a woman he has said. Why not the Hawaiian patriot? Tulsi? Seriously do you all want Abrams as president?? I'm serious when I say I'd rather have Michelle Obama since he said he must have an African American woman as Veep. Barack will be right there with her and certainly she'll run some ideas by him and he knows what he's doing. Why not Mrs. Obama over Stacey Abrams for gosh sakes??
  18. We have a limit of 70 max people. Last week there were 14. Way more dangerous to be in a liquor store IMO. People are committing suicide. People are freaking out and depressed. We need church. As trump said it's an essential service. He even mentioned the liquor store fiasco. It's pretty obvious with the NCAA allowing kids on campus for volunteer workouts and the openings of movie theatres in conservative states like Kansas, that like it or not, the plan has begun to open everything up and pretty much allow us all to get the virus. Let's pray (or hope if you are not religious) we have bodies strong enough to prevail over the virus. The economy simply has to open no matter what the exotic ice cream eating governors think. Only other option is socialism and start sending us all 10,000 a crack not 1,200 bucks. Peace.
  19. Thank goodness. Liquor stores have been open. My pastor has safety regulations totally in place. I would love to see a list of states Trump is overriding. We sit three to a row eight feet apart. Every fourth row. Masks mandatory. Hand cleaner at door. if I get it I get it. Shoulda done this weeks ago regarding churches compared to liquor stores. Anybody know if Illinois churches have been open? They are now. p.s. Like I said about last Sunday. Our Mass had 14 people. Across the street. Graduation party with at least 50. No masks. Gimme a break at the discrepancy. Pastors are taking precautions. If we get it we get it just like if we go to the store for some booze.
  20. https://www.breitbart.com/national-security/2020/05/21/russia-coronavirus-chief-those-meant-die-will-die/ a.) I really don't want to die from coronavirus. That will suck if some b.s. disease created suspiciously is what takes me from earth. Hope I don't die and you all don't die from this. b.) Well, it's official. The hatred Americans have toward each other is out of control. Some young man at a nursing home in Detroit is caught on tape beating the hell out of an old lady patient. They arrested him later. Hopefully he'll get life in prison. ... and a church in Mississippi burns to the ground over coronavirus concerns. Somebody didn't like them holding services. I wonder if this mask/no mask thing will cause violence soon. People wearing masks attacking those who don't. It's amazing how far we're falling. https://news.yahoo.com/mississippi-church-suing-virus-restrictions-122138656.html https://wwjnewsradio.radio.com/articles/news/man-arrested-in-beating-of-detroit-nursing-home-patient
  21. Wow go read Doc Graham's Instagram post ... can't copy it here, wouldn't let me copy, paste. ... So turns out masks are controversial. He calls them "absurd ... they encourage the fornite transmission ("infected articles") to hand to face transmission of the virus. So go ahead and allow idiots to delude and mislead you to the false sense of security - and danger - of masks." You can find Graham's full quote on Twitter if you don't want to Instagram. Personally I'm glad to see masks losing momentum. It's common sense that you are going to touch your face more with a damn mask on and the mask is going to be moist from your mouth and that is NOT GOOD!! It's very simplistic to say a shield, a mask will keep covid out. Doesn't appear to be that way. https://www.theblaze.com/news/former-neurosurgeon-masks-ineffective Also another thing I read: “It seems kind of intuitively obvious that if you put something—whether it’s a scarf or a mask—in front of your nose and mouth, that will filter out some of these viruses that are floating around out there,” says Dr. William Schaffner, professor of medicine in the division of infectious diseases at Vanderbilt University. The only problem: that’s not likely to be effective against respiratory illnesses like the flu and COVID-19. If it were, “the CDC would have recommended it years ago,” he says. “It doesn’t, because it makes science-based recommendations.” The science, according to the CDC, says that surgical masks won’t stop the wearer from inhaling small airborne particles, which can cause infection. Nor do these masks form a snug seal around the face. The CDC recommends surgical masks only for people who already show symptoms of coronavirus and must go outside, since wearing a mask can help prevent spreading the virus by protecting others nearby when you cough or sneeze. The agency also recommends these masks for caregivers of people infected with the virus. Just trying to say there is controversy over masks and I do not like them. Common sense is my mask is full of moistness, wet crap from the mouth after even 15 minutes and I'm adjusting it and touching my face way more with a mask on than off. Before the mask mania hit, I NEVER touched my face once during Corona crisis, now I touch it all the time.
  22. Hmmm what do you think of this story. Corona is not being spread from being on surfaces https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/health/2020/05/21/coronavirus-news-what-cdc-saying-covid-19-surfaces/5235317002/
  23. It definitely brought back memories of high school. I will confess that after I got it soaked and combed it back and saw all that hair, especially flowing by the collar I thought I might be able to pull off a Richard Lewis look. Another 4 weeks would have been interesting to see which rock star I looked like. But the hair length gave me a headache and bothered me even though the length of it was intriguing me. But alas today I got it cut ... legally. And me, the barber and the receptionist were the only three in the shop. he is the owner and said for some reason everybody else will come in next week for work. Maybe he wanted to take care of his massive list of clients 7 a.m. til 5 p.m. to get some out of the way. He said they will all come in in different shifts to obey all rules. Greg has obeyed all rules in Kansas since our March 16 shutdown. I should have gotten a haircut the Friday before the Monday shutdown as I could have. Instead I went from Feb. 20 til May 21 without a haircut which is 12 weeks. I normally would have 3 haircuts in that span, so I have learned that I should go six weeks without a haircut instead of four.
  24. 40 million people?? Just printing the checks and mailing them out to recipients of unemployment will cost millions of dollars. My gosh our economy is doomed. So pretty soon we'll be at 50 percent unemployment? Half of our great nation will be idled? God help us all.
  25. From what I read, today sounded like a bad day regarding the virus. And it's not even virus season. Scary what could take place this winter.
