  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 04:03 AM) So two freaking bunt attempts at Cabrera after Friday's debacle. Just stupid baseball all weekend. If I'm Reinsdorf I demand an explanation on that. It makes zero sense.
  2. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 03:01 AM) The next time one of our guys beats valverde I hope they act like a complete cock as they round the bases pointing at him. The Sox don't do such things and they don't bunt at a third baseman who can't move. That'd be oh so uncool.
  3. QUOTE (Real @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 03:01 AM) 9-3-2012, the start of the downward spiral Unless Detroit turns into Detroit again.
  4. Owned in Detroit. Failure of the biggest kind. Utter embarassment, but in baseball there's another day. On to the next series.
  5. Cant we pinch hit somebody for Huddy?
  6. Glad to see the Sox finally wake up, but isn't this too little too late?
  7. QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 02:44 AM) Detroit isn't 41-26 at home for no reason (about to be 42-26)..they're a great home team. The Sox are a .500 road team but terrible at Comerica. I'm not sure how expectations could have been anything but a sweep, perhaps 1 of 3, considering we were facing Verlander and a hot Scherzer in this series (I predicted they'd win Fri night). I'm not sweating this sweep too much...it is what it is. While winning a game or two would have done wonders for the Sox, the odds were greatly against them. We've proven we're a good team and will bounce back from his dreadful road trip. I don't understand posts like this. One lousy win in six games? We couldn't even get that. I mean yes Detroit is way better than the Sox but 1-2 wins out of 6 are not that tough to get? QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 02:51 AM) I'd put my money where my mouth is anytime, but that would require you to have money. Your paper route doesn't pay that much. LOL. Great comeback. Loved it.
  8. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 02:40 AM) Brett motherf***ing Myers b****es It's like Coop is trying to get him the money. Very weird.
  9. This is just like the last series in Detroit. Leaving town beaten and battered and embarassed. Can the Sox do what they did last time? Immediately regain the division lead in advance of the next Sox-Tigers series? Or is this the end? How many games are we up for the second wild card?
  10. QUOTE (Caesar @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 02:34 AM) Detroit will not lose. But if they did, I will never post here again. Odds are 50/50 that tomorrow will be your last day on this site. You are gawn cause baseball is a strange game.
  11. Hopefully there's a Sox fan out there who knows his team well that won zillions of dollars betting against the Sox this weekend. At least some good would have come out of this embarassment.
  12. QUOTE (Caesar @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 02:29 AM) I will make a wager. If Detroit loses tomorrow I will never post here again. Wow. You could be gonzo. Baseball is a weird game. Detroit could lose and you'll be bye bye.
  13. QUOTE (Jake @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 02:28 AM) Hard for me to get mad at a team that wants to win too much. See the past few years, where everyone just quit caring You are assuming a lot with that post. How the hell do we know how much this team wants it? What player is bunting at Cabrera on his own proving he wants it? QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 02:29 AM) I was way angrier in 2005 with the Indians charging hard and when the team was throwing away games in 2006 and 2010 (the Thome game). I flat out believe Tigers are the better, deeper team now. No shame in that, but I know a lot of people don't believe they're the better team. Sure they are the better team, but the Sox had put themselves in a position of power by beating teams better than the White Sox. They were in position where one win would have had them in great shape. They lose all 3. Even if you don't have the better team you can win a game or two. The Royals just took 3 from them. Are the Royals the better team? Of course not.
  14. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 02:25 AM) They've lost to teams playing better baseball this week. Tigers have been simply sensational on the road, and I know people will point to the Tigers/KC series as proof they were slumping, but all three of those games were extremely fluky losses. Still u fail to recognize the big picture. Losing 6 in a row in Detroit is choking. I mean even horrible baseball teams can win one or two of the six. I look at these three as a major choke. You can't get one win?? Even the Astros could get one.
  15. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 02:22 AM) I don't consider this choking. I do consider it choking, fathom, cause Sox just had to win one game this weekend to be in fantastic shape. To not get one after getting swept there last time is indeed choking.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 02:18 AM) Alexei's foolishly trying to hit a home run to the opposite field instead of trying to bunt against Cabrera. They've just made things way too easy for the Tigers this weekend. Our guys aren't going to do the unsportsmanlike thing and embarass Cabrera. It's not right, you know. We wouldn't try to take advantage of him like that even with a division at stake. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 02:19 AM) Your last 384 posts say differently I'm just calling the Sox out on their being p*****s and failing to show up and win one damn game in Detroit again. That's all they had to do, win one lousy game instead of make this one of the worst weekends of my baseball life. I can be furious at their laying down against Detroit, but yes there is a chance the Sox could still make the playoffs. Detroit could start sucking again. If Detroit sucks and the Sox win at home and lose on the road the rest of the way, playoffs are still possible.
  17. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 02:14 AM) They will be the first ones to cheer when the Sox clinch the division Who's giving up on the season? It's possible Detroit will revert back to s*** and we'll continue playing the percentage baseball we've played all year. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 02:15 AM) BTW, thanks again Ozzie for having Garcia plunk Delmon Young in his debut. He's made us his b**** ever since. I hope you are kidding; please be kidding. You think if one of our hitters got plunked he'd be on some roll against the team that plunked him? Blaming our former manager I assume u are kidding.
  18. LOL. Our team needs to get on that plane ASAP and get the hell out of Motown.
  19. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 02:09 AM) A piece of s*** human being hits a piece of s*** home run. Honestly wouldn't feel a damn thing if he ends up dead tomorrow. It's been a long time since I just knew one of our guys was going to lash a hit like I (and all of you) knew Young was going to mash in that situation. He just exuded confidence and studliness on that at bat. He knew he was going to come through.
  20. This is why you don't shuffle pitching staffs and look ahead to a series. All games are the same. Sox should just concentrate on beating the KC's and Minnie's of the world and not look ahead to a series like this. Baseball also should be ashamed. Why do we play the Tigers two straight series in Detroit. Isn't it almost always flip flopped? Three or four games in the Cell; next series in Detroit; back to the Cell. I'd think we could have won one of three in Chicago against these guys.
  21. The rest of this game figures to be one big party in Detroit. How quickly things change. Everybody in Motown hated that team after the KC series. Now they'll be WS contenders in the eyes of their people.
  22. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 02:01 AM) Delmon Young doing what Sox hitters have not been able to do all series, get a big hit. Were you predicting that or is your TV feed about 8 pitches ahead of mine? Say this about the Sox, when they are bad, they are really bad, when they are good they are really good. Their performance in some of these road series of late has been laughably rotten. We get swept. Nice job, Sox, way to compete this weekend.
  23. QUOTE (Baron @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 01:59 AM) Dont watch them then I have to. I'm a Sox fan. -- Sale shows something in whiffing Fielder there. Nice.
  24. QUOTE (Baron @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 01:58 AM) I dont see why they dont just call our season. Its over guys. No reason to watch the rest of the games. It'd be easier to take if we'd just forfeit all games against KC and Detroit, at least the road games against 'em. Wouldn't be as frustrating.
  25. QUOTE (Caesar @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 01:56 AM) Detroit is just a better and more talented team Detroit played like bums in Kansas City. Sox are just too freaked out to compete against the Tigers.
