  1. Oh boy. This should be a lot of fun the rest of this game. 2 on nobody out.
  2. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 01:53 AM) It won't bother me if it's a 1 run loss. Why? Losing all 3 again is unacceptable.
  3. QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 01:49 AM) Yes, they are this year, but not for 13 million next year. If Brett Myers gets 10 million from the Sox, somebody should be fired on the spot. He ain't worth it. Give that 10 mill to Youk. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 01:50 AM) DeAza has at least 2. I love DeAza.
  4. How many homers do the Sox have against Detroit in Detroit this year? I'm assuming hardly any.
  5. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 3, 2012 -> 01:31 AM) Looks like he's moving a little better and lets face it, how many of these guys can actually lay down a bunt not fielded by the pitcher or catcher. Either that or it's probably part of baseball's unwritten code. Don't bunt and embarrass a guy who is hurt. It's BS whatever it is.
  6. You'd have thought Flowers had the speed of DeAza there, not the plodder he is, the way the Sox were determined to have him run and get thrown out on the bases.
  7. Do you think some of us are too hard on the Sox or do you agree they do some maddening things? I mean isn't it kind of nonsensical to drop so many games to the team you have to beat out? If the Sox threw a win or two in there against Detroit it wouldn't be so f***ing maddening. Or do you think fans like me are way out of line and we should be thrilled we're in the race at all. I just don't understand sometimes why the team is so dysfunctional. Is it asking too much to win the first game of a huge series once in a while, etc?? Educate me.
  8. Liriano is very overrated on this board. He's just another body. Good some nights; horrific others. I'd give him a solid C.
  9. Sox really missed him. The team has become a joke on the road. DeAza makes things happen. Wise is a good fourth outfielder type, but he's no DeAza.
  10. I get the feeling Detroit is just toying with everybody and the final two weeks will probably go 14-2.
  11. For some reason people are afraid to start new threads. It's prolly because a lot of people get mad and jump on you if u start a new thread, so they post in catch all.
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 03:19 PM) Will be at my buddy's wedding reception tonight, thank God. Hope there is no tv to temp me. Lucky you; this is not a good game to watch. It's gonna be all Detroit and the announcers will slobber over them as well.
  13. QUOTE (oldsox @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 04:20 PM) You gotta be kidding. Yeah, the Marlins sure showed the world how smart they are. I'm not kidding; he'd be PERFECT for this staff and missing a guy like Mark is a big reason we prolly won't beat out Detroit.
  14. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 2, 2012 -> 04:34 AM) Let's pretend for a second that there are 30 games to play and the only team that stop you from playing in the post season you play 5 more times. Fight, play hard and win. There are no moral victories for finishing n second place. Fight and win. No excuses. Well said. Too bad our team doesn't think that way.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 1, 2012 -> 07:35 PM) I swear sox fans have to be the most miserable out there. I think I'm still pissed we let Buehrle go. Who do the Sox need right now??? Mark Buehrle, that's who. He's a legit big-game pitcher. He's just what this staff needed. Cheapskate ownership.
  16. I'm wondering how many more times the Sox can pick themselves up after looking like s*** in a series. Face facts. No way in hell the Sox win on Sunday. In fact, it could really be one of those ugly 10-2 type games on TV. So now the Sox, who had built a nice three game lead again see it down to zero. Will the scenario continue of the Sox shrugging that off and building another 3-4 game lead by the time of the 4-game series against Detroit in the Cell. Or this time will the Sox turn into Cleveland the entire month of September? It has to be tough to be a White Sox player having wet the bed two straight series in Detroit, single handedly letting Detroit back in it on two separate occasions. What they built has crumbled twice now courtesy of a pair of sweeps. To be fair, all we really figured to do this series was win one game max and keep our two game advantage. The sox still have the opportunity to do that, but I think we all know what is going to happen Sunday night. It will be another win for Detroit and the Sox again will have recuscitated the Tigers. Too bad. The question is ... can the Sox bounce back yet again after staggering out of Detroit having gotten swept? So my motivation is telling the White Sox I do not believe they can beat Detroit head to head and maybe they can prove me wrong.
  17. QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Sep 1, 2012 -> 06:30 PM) I was telling this to my brother yesterday. Make fat boy move. It's almost like the Sox considered it a cheap shot to keep bunting at him. Even Beckham's bunt was awful. It was a pop up. If Detroit is going to play him, bunt him out of the game and frustrate him.
  18. QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Sep 1, 2012 -> 06:55 PM) Over. I'd say at least 5 from Liriano and then 2 or 3 from the bullpen that takes over in the 5th. Sounds about right. But it's not all the pitchers fault. Umpires ridiculously tiny strike zones have ruined the great game of baseball.
  19. Detroit is an underachieving unlikeable team. Unfortunately Sox appear to be tight when they play them and can't beat them head to head. So Detroit is gonna stick around. That 4 game series at the Cell will keep Detroit in it til the bitter end IMO. It's unfortunate that a lot of the Sox good work this season is being nullified in head to head games against just a few teams - Detroit, KC, Balt and Boston.
  20. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Sep 1, 2012 -> 12:21 AM) You a Rice guy? Yes. Rice got mauled by Marist tonight. Cut it to 14 late but it was a massacre I'm assuming Marist had all the subs in on defense when Rice dominated the 4th. Marist must be legit this year. Rice's defense isn't too good. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Sep 1, 2012 -> 12:56 AM) I'll tell you what, I hated Wise when Ozzie made him our leadoff a few years back, but I've been impressed with him this year. He's a very solid 4th OF. Me too, but he's playing too much. We need DeAza back. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Sep 1, 2012 -> 01:52 AM) I think most people deep down knew we're getting swept this weekend. We can't beat the tigers in Detroit right now. That's just the truth. We can still win this, however, after being tied for the division lead on Sept 3. I thought with a 3 game lead we just might win tonight. I thought we were playing with house's money in just one game in the series, the first one. Sox pissed the game away in not scoring with the bases loaded nobody out early. That was the game and that was the house's money gone. I guess there's a remote chance we could win one of three, but I don't expect that to happen. I'd say a 15 percent chance of winning one game. It actually would be huge to get just the one. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Sep 1, 2012 -> 02:02 AM) I'm not being Debbie downer, just realistic. We can't bet these guys in Detroit. Just like we can't beat KC in KC. This Detroit club is very beatable however. We just need to do our business after being tied for the lead after this weekend is over. Amen brotha. Like you said we have to hope the Sox can battle back after Detroit once again owns us head to head in Motown.
  21. By the way, somebody text me updates from the Brother Rice-Marist football game. Thank u.
  22. That is so f***ing frustrating I could punch the wall. My god. If we don't win the division, remember that inning. We should have knocked out this starter, who has nothing. Bases loaded nobody out and can't score more??? WTF. Is this really a big series or not? Opportunity knocked and Sox failed. I'm off to watch a neighbor in a bad high school football game. Hopefully I'll hear later we somehow won.
  23. Bags juiced nobody out? Cmon Sox, score
  24. Youk and Dunn epic fails. That just sucks against a struggling pitcher. f***.
  25. Youk had to elevate in that situation. Why did Dunn take that first pitch??? Wow.
