QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 11:08 PM) Even I would not say that the entire profession is scum. What I would say is that the catholic church turned itself into a criminal enterprise to cover up for the child abusers. That isn't the fault of the individual priests, but it is the fault of a whole lot of people who actively covered things up, the fault of a whole lot of people who turned blind eyes, and of course, the fault of the abusers themselves. I have trouble believing that the number of incidents the church has seen does not imply that the problem was vastly greater there than in general society. Otherwise there would be very few children who aren't molested. I would be happy to see data if anyone has this. Yeah, good post. It is rare and perhaps unprecedented, however, that actions of a small percentage of people in a profession (I agree one is too many, but ...) kills the profession entirely. And it is a profession that if done right can do good for many people on many levels.
-
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 11:06 PM) I bet neither of us know the definition of "unfair" quite like those kids who were left in the protection of the church. The percentage doesnt matter, these other professions dont try and cover it up, that we know of. And if they do, and get caught, you know damn well they will be ridiculed just the same. Well the church paid for it because the Catholic Church basically is dead once these aging priests die. There are no young ones coming through the ranks. Individually I agree all the assholes deserve what they get, but as a profession it saddens me that priests are going to soon be extinct and I know priests can do good for a lot of people. I've seen it.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 3, 2012 -> 12:03 AM) Well, we can't say he's not worth $18 million, because he might be our #1 starter (along with Liriano) for the remainder of the season. 21/22 Quality starts/Total Starts....you can't argue with that. He's slipped a bit from the first 2-3 months, but that's simply because of the weather changing and the ball carrying more...long fly outs are now homers. I'd say if the Sox think he can be a No. 1 or 2 next season again then it'd be better to just give him the 18 million because like I said, thinking the Sox can sign him for 2-3 years at 12 million a year is insane. You agree he'll get 4-5 from the Angels or Yanks or Dodgers or somebody at 15-20 mill a year, right?

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 10:37 PM) Oh, and just as a reminder, Hollywood actors don't get a pass when they decide to let off a hate filled rant about the gays either. Interesting stuff. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 10:53 PM) What exactly do you want, greg? You go from one point where you say you are sick of the media sensationalizing it with the Catholic church, and now what are you trying to say, you want them to move on to sensationalizing it about all youth athletics? Well here is where your argument falls through a hole, there isnt a systematic coverup within all youth athletics that allows these rogue POS coaches to continue doing these horrible things like there was within the catholic church. There was ONE university with ONE sicko that got away with what he did due to about 4 people(depending on what you believe) and their inaction. There was hundreds maybe thousands of priests that got away with what they did because the Catholic church covered it up. The comparison is horrible and it shouldnt even be made anymore. It doesnt fit. And before you even ask, I was born, raised and confirmed Catholic. I was absolutely horrified by what has been revealed and absolutely ashamed. I don't know what I want. I just think it's unfair a whole profession got labeled as scum when I know there are tons of good priests. Basically there are no more priests coming through the U.S. ranks. The profession has been ruined and I think it's unfair because the percentage of abusers is probably similar to the percentage of abusers in all professions where adults are in a position to prey on kids.

QUOTE (flippedoutpunk @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 11:09 PM) Ill only go if greg goes. I'll go if somebody pays my plane fare and buys me a seat in the fabled club level or whatever the middle level is called. Kidding. I actually was planning on coming back in August or a weekend in Sept. to see family, hopefully when the Sox are in town. I'm past the days of getting bad seats, though. I'd want to sit in a primo section.
-
I don't see why we even think the Sox have a chance at re-signing him. Two years? Dream on. If he is healthy the day our season ends, he is going to get 4-5 years from somebody at 15-20 million a year. Isn't that obvious? If the Sox do want this guy, they should just take him one year for the 18 million. Obviously he's not worth that.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 10:22 PM) Well missionaries and priests arent the same. But historically speaking Priest used to be a very powerful, influential and often wealthy member of the community. It is the reason why Nobles would have their 2nd/3rd sons become Priests, or why Kings would have their 2/3rds become Bishops/Pope. People have always been about power and money, the establishment just did a really good job of convincing their flock that they werent about money and power. If you believe in Jesus, you have to remember one of his biggest gripes was about the corruption of the Jewish priests. So this isnt new, its been going on at least 5700 years (I think Jewish calendar is in the year 5700 something). Interesting stuff.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 10:18 PM) Such a terrible, terrible comparison. This wasnt one priest greg. This wasnt one act of coverup. Thousands. Thousands of lives shattered. It is awful. Thing is, there also are many many youth coaches who are abusers. Any positions of power in which an adult can prey on kids, there are abusers. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 10:20 PM) It's not glamorous because there is no need for a large amount of priests. My generation is increasingly unreligious, because that's a viewpoint and way of life. There's a downturn in Priests because they live as very poor in a time where you NEED to have money for bills, housing, and living expenses. So of course there's fewer priests when there are fewer people to preach too. I love one of my missionaries friends very dearly yet she tried to convert me saying God would cure my seizures. She's a Born Again who partied a bit too hard before being "reborn" so she thinks that would fix me. Yet all converting would do for me is ask that I give up my free will, opinions, and change my (in my opinion) very solid morals. I don't have any character issues that need religion to fix exactly. Actually, we have a real shortage of priests, especially here in Kansas. Churches are having to be merged together and it's pretty awful. How are your seizures anyway? Has the situation improved at all? Are you having them all the time? Are you on medication that is helping at all? Is the medical community helping or being inefficient about helping you? I'm sure you've heard a lot of stupid stuff regarding your seizures. People should just shut the f*** up and ask you how they can help you in a practical way. Her telling you God will cure your seizures is too simplistic. I mean, yes, if I had the seizures I'd pray they go away but it's wrong to try to convert you in the belief God then will zap away your seizures. How are you doing? Do you have to go off to college? Are yu gonna be OK?

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 09:58 PM) People understand the difference between non-malicious comedy about stereotypes (even when offensive) and taking actions which actually harm a group. OK, what if the CEO of CFA said the same things said on a comedy show about gays? He'd be fried in the media. Why not movie producers and actors? Actors could refuse the part if they have to make gay jokes. There is no outrage because Hollywood is glamorous and everybody there is rich. That's what our society is about. No scorn for the rich in this instance.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 10:11 PM) Then why are you not piling on right now when the people who moved those priests around, going all the way up to places in the Vatican, are still in power? I know of only 1 case where the guy who did the coverup was charged with anything and convicted, and that just happened last month. He was convicted of one count of child endangerment and will spend a couple years in prison at most. By your own standard, the media has not been tough enough on the Church, because the people who did the coverup are walking away and having their parishioners pay the fines! You asked for life imprisonment, I give you a couple years on a single count of child endangerment for one guy! Well it needs to continued to be covered then, because I want all molesters to rot. I want them dead by lethal injection and/or stuck in jail the rest of their lives where they will be abused as well. I guess I don't condone them being abused in jail but that is apparently what happens in prison so be it. I just want it recognized and pointed out nationally over and over that as not all coaches are molesters (like Sandusky) and cover up artists (like Paterno). Coach is not suddenly going to be thought of in disdain, yet the priest profession is OVA. The only ones remaining in America are oldies. The future of the Catholic Church in America will be priests coming over from India and maybe parishes sharing such priests. It saddens me.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 09:56 PM) Priest just isnt as glamorous these days. 2 of my close friends fathers were going to be Priests, both quit seminary school because of girls and money. People are people. Why is it not glamorous? Society has rotted to the point that all that matters is money and power like you said. Which is fine, always been that way, but there used to be tolerance and respect for those who decided to eschew money and power and give their lives to God or work for free as a missionary. Now that is considered laughable, moronic. "You want to be a missionary?? What is wrong with you???? You want to be a priest?? My gawd, where did I go wrong. Priests are molesters!!!" I still consider both missionary and priest noble professions. More power to them for living lives of poverty. society says no. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 09:57 PM) Slanted coverage? Are you kidding me? Yes, the media was too hard on the catholic church for covering up the systematic abuse of kids for decades across the entire world. GMAFB. Do you think the media should have covered up the rape of children? Because otherwise, no, the media was not too hard on the church. The Church has gotten off easy. Many, many more leaders of the church, going all the way up, should have gone to jail for what they did, shifting those priests around and covering up for them, and those people are still happily employed and have gone without punishment except in the eyes of God. No. I said I'm glad it was covered and all those guilty of cover up and abuse should be sentenced to death or life in solitary confinement. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 09:59 PM) Do you really think it would help the catholic church to have the media interject statements reminding people how many priests didn't rape children? Wouldn't the fact that they were doing that...remind people of how many priests raped children? Yes I think that would have been good. But it was a pile on, making it seem to the world that priests are child molesters and that is what a priest does.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 09:46 PM) Sort of like every single argument you've ever made on this site. I disagree. I may take the other position many times, but I feel my arguments are passionate and backed up with facts many times. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 09:53 PM) That perception has been repeated so much because there are so many stories of child-rape cover-ups around the world. The fault for that lies squarely with the rapists and their abettors in the church's hierarchy, not with news organizations covering a worldwide scandal in one of the most prominent religions in the world. I don't blame the media, but I do blame them for not going out of their way to balance this out a bit. The word "priest" shouldn't have turned into a synonym for devil because of the evil scandal. Just as coach should not now be synonym for devil because of Sandusky/Paterno and all the youth coaches who abuse.
-
QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 09:41 PM) The media implied all priests are pedophiles? That's ridiculous. Again, young people aren't as interested in becoming priests because they're not as interested in religion. Wait, are you comparing comedy to working against gay rights or comparing comedy to child molestation? No, I've seen some jokes in movies and on TV where there's a feminine portrayal of gays or the old gay jokes. I'd think somebody could find one of these examples and immediately start a nationwide boycott of the theatres and the company that produced said movie or TV show. I mean it's ridiculous to stereotype a group of people like that and the jokes are still out there. Can't think of any particular movie or show but I know I've seen 'em in the past year even. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 09:44 PM) Can you cite one example of someone in the media saying something that would explicitly discourage people from becoming a priest, or do you support the media covering up the child abuse scandal so that people wouldn't be discouraged from joining the preisthood? No, it's the whole story and slanted coverage as a whole. Not all priests are bad, yet the perception has been repeated so much that now you look up priest in the dictionary and the word pedophile appears so to speak. It's just not so. And I'm all for the bastard bishops who covered it up getting thrown in jail. I hate all molesters and all people who cover up molestation. Crimes against kids should be punishable by the death penalty or life in solitary! But it's not all priests. And the occupation has been ruined.
-
QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 09:12 PM) Yep. That was awesome. It's way too simplistic to boycott CFA because the company makes donations to the organizations that author mentions. It just is.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 08:27 PM) Even if he's right, am I supposed to feel bad? To use an example Greg is perfectly familiar with, Joe Paterno did a whole lot of good in a lot of people's lives. He contributed greatly to his university financially and in many other ways. What do people think of today when they talk about Penn State? If the Catholic church can't find priests because they spent decades covering up the abuse and rape of kids...my level of sympathy could not be any lower. If Greg's theory is right...you know the solution? STOP COVERING UP THE ABUSE OF YOUNG BOYS AND PROTECTING THE ABUSERS. Yet the media will not discourage people from becoming coaches again and imply that all coaches are pedophiles like Sandusky and cover up artists like Joe. Yet this pedophile priest issue was covered in a way that it was implied all priests are pedophiles. How come we don't get a barrage of news about all the sicko youth coaches and get to the point nobody can be a coach because they are pedophiles like Sandusky? QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 08:33 PM) Maybe they shouldn't have covered up child rape for decades? That still doesn't take away the fact there are zillions of good priests and good men in the profession who have helped countless kids. Yet because of liberals and the coverage of this issue, the future of the priesthood is dead. Like I said, becoming a priest is a no-no, a huge taboo. It's all part of the ruination of society. A good occuption like priest has been wiped off the map. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 09:15 PM) I posted this article a while back. It's written by a college-aged Christian girl and was about the results of some national polling done by a pro-Christian but professional and non-biased research group. The number one thing young people in this country associate Christianity with these days is being antihomosexual. For non-Christians, it's 91%. This is an example of why that is. How come nobody attacks Hollywood and TV producers. You'll still see the feminine portrayal of gays in the movies and on TV shows and occasional jokes about being gay in the movies. How come there's no outrage??

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 06:09 PM) Matt Spiegel @MattSpiegel670 From a trusted source: Brett Myers vesting option based on games finished will have zero impact on any decisions about his usage. If Cooptura want Myers to close, he will. Not saying that's imminent, & I'm in no way recommending it; but 10M option year is not an issue. There's no way in hell this guy will finish enough games to get the option year. You think the White Sox are going to pay a 10 million dollar option year on this guy? No way.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 07:32 PM) So, you're saying that there is a lack of priests because the catholic church covered up an enormous pedophile scandal? I believe Job 4:8 says: "As I have observed, those who plow evil and those who sow trouble reap it". No, I'm saying the coverage was so intense and the fact nobody ever said this is not a priest issue only but a societal issue (scum of the earth pedophiles are in ALL FIELDS in which they can get to kids) to the point RIGHT NOW you say the words "Catholic priest," you might as well say the word "pedophile." Sad. Today there is no doubt no kid can consider being a priest. It is a bad word to society. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 07:49 PM) There's all sorts of ridiculous stuff in this thread, but this line... really? REALLY? You honestly think that the downturn in men choosing to follow the calling of their Catholic faith has to do with being teased about being a child molester? Seriously? If you got that from my post, I presented it wrong. No, not being teased. It's parents not allowing their kids to ever even THINK about the possibility of being a priest because of the mockery of the position now. A priest is a strange pedophile now, case closed. There is something wrong with you if you want to be a priest is the common perception and that is HORRIBLE. My former priest is my life hero and mentor. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 08:00 PM) Christian belief isn't covered as if it's one side of an argument, it's covered as a problem that needs solving. And it's not just "oh, that's interesting you believe that" it's "OMG, you're a f***ing dumb ass for thinking that way." Creationism? You don't believe in science, you're an idiot. Abortion? That's not a murder issue, that's an equal rights issue. Same with homosexuality. Oh, you don't like boobs on national TV, you're just old fashioned grandpa! Get with the times! Oh gawd, we have a President or Governor that believes that prayer will provide guidance? We're all f***ed! And on and on. Again, i'm not really religious, but I can see this plain as day. Religion, and especially Christianity, is still a huge part of society. No questioning that. But the coverage is almost ALWAYS negative. Some of it (priest scandals) for good reason. Most not. AMEN Jenks. The coverage as he said is almost ALWAYS negative. Jenks rocks.

QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 07:27 PM) I honestly don't understand this "poor Christians" mentality. As a non-practicing Catholic, I can say that the Catholic Church (note I mean the Vatican itself) should absolutely be criticized for their handling of pedophile priests. Not all priests are pedophiles, but there were men in the Church who certainly turned a blind eye to the ones that were. It must be tough to be the majority religion. Christianity is mocked. Islam is mocked. Mormons are mocked. Every religion is mocked. Christians in government don't sit back and take it either. They amend state constituitions to make sure those icky gays cannot ever get married. They pass laws to make sure that evolution isn't taught in schools and that creationism is given equal time (without, of course, giving equal time to the creation beliefs of other religions). I don't understand what fight, exactly, it is that the Liberal boogeyman has won. I would like Jenks to answer that for me. He cuts to the chase better.

QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 07:19 PM) If your church is lacking people interested in becoming priests, I doubt political correctness has anything to do with it. Young people simply aren't that religious compared to past generations. No you guys are wrong IMO. Here's it the defiinition of a priest nowadays to liberal America: A pedophile. Cut and dried. Case closed. That is a priest to the world and that is very sad. Because yes there were a zillion pedophiles in the priesthood. Why? Because that's an occupation in which pedophiles can get to kids. Just like there are pedophiles in all occupations where sickos can get to kids. Add to that the fact the bishops committed CRIMINAL acts in protecting these scumbag pedophiles and you get today's definition of the priesthood and Catholic faith. Priest equals pedophile. Bishops equal lawbreakers. Bye bye Catholic faith DESPITE THE FACT THERE ARE TONS OF GREAT PRIESTS, one who was the biggest POSITIVE influence in my life (negative to those of you who hate my love of Ozzeroo).
-
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 07:12 PM) Yes, because you never, ever hear anyone joke about gays. And Tim Tebow being one of the most popular players in the NFL has nothing to do with his faith. If you want to sit in your home/hang out with people who believe the gays deserve to be punished, fine, no one is stopping you from believing that. But it is not your right to deny them the rights this country gives to everyone else. I don't hear gay jokes in Kansas. My town here is very liberal. It's full of gays which is great. I'm for equal rights and gay marriage. It's fine with me. Our priest (yes priest, my religion has run out of priests because of all the jokes and PC that no longer allows "normal" kids to consider pursuing such a calling) has welcomed all gays into the church even tho the higher ups would probably excommunicate him for that. He's great. The only jokes about gays I ever hear are in movies/TV shows where you'll still get a line implying being gay is way wrong. Why aren't people attacking Hollywood more than the owner of a delicious food chain?

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 07:06 PM) The reason why Liberals have won the fight is because people look at the religious argument and ask questions that cant really be answered. For example, why is polygamy wrong? Did you know that Abraham, the founder of Judaism, had 3 wives? Did you know King Solomon had 3 wives, Jacob had multiple wives and same with David. If multiple wives is a sin, then all of these men are sinners. Which makes no sense, because GOD came to Abraham. You would think if he didnt want that, he would have chosen a non-sinner. You just can not rectify the belief with the Old Testament, which historically came first. So it basically undercuts the entire "this is how humans always did it" when many of the first Jews were admittedly polygamists. I think liberals have won the fight because many don't believe in God and the best way to prove they are right and we are wrong is mock the side that believes in God. We sit back and take it and that is that. There is no question society is going down the tubes. The workplace is a joke nowadays with all the do nothing HR departments and rude bully executives who do no actual work except find ways to keep raises down and find the cheapest insurance companies possible to further bully employees. Our society is going downhill fast and I would like for anybody to prove to me otherwise. I think we were doing much better when people at least respected those with Christian beliefs.
-
QUOTE (CrimsonWeltall @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 12:41 PM) You have it reversed. Obama mentions God all the time. If he didn't, it would be politically incorrect. Good, I must not watch him a lot. I always like it when our President mentions God. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 02:16 PM) From a believer but not necessarily a practicing Christian, being Christian in today's society, especially in the sub-35 year old age group, is equated to being a gay-hating, science-denying redneck. The liberals have absolutely won that fight, and there's really no debate about it. I think that was Greg's point. That was exactly my point. It is sick and sad that that is today's version of being a practicing Christian in today's society. And again, Jake proved my point perfectly. Without hesitation, he typed in that crap blasting the Bible, whereas I would have to think long and hard before I typed in something about gays or other groups of people with certain beliefs. That is today's society. Hammer away at the rednecks who believe in God. The next step will be when government officials stop mentioning God at all. That will come in the next 20 years I'm sure. Look at how Tebow is mocked all the time. If you are Catholic ... please. The jokes are coming galore. This sentence by Jenksismyb**** described my situation perfectly To the liberal world I am ... "a gay-hating, science-denying redneck." The liberals have absolutely won that fight, and there's really no debate about it. I think that was Greg's point. Great post, Jenks!

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 07:41 AM) I wouldn't say it's so easy to just blast away at Christians. The majority of people in the country are Christian, so there are more people to offend. However, it is due to the relatively vocal nature (greatly aided by the fact that there are more Christians then others) that Christians are generally more susceptible to attack. Not trying to justify it, just think of a reason why. God is under siege. It is not PC to mention God, that is why I loved Bush for mentioning God all the fricking time. I like Obama, but he does not mention God much. He did once on TV as I recall, though. I liked it.

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 04:31 AM) At the end of the day, a lot of people, probably millions, think that the CEO of Chick-Fil-A is being discriminatory by sending millions of dollars to organizations that are trying to maintain gays as 2nd class citizens. These millions of people would rather not spend their money at a business where the owner is going out of his way to make sure that a large swath of our population is denied basic rights. Apparently this is hard to understand for some of you in here. The way "some of us" see it is the CEO of Chick Fil A believes in the Bible's interpretation of marriage. That is it. He donates money to Focus in the Family? How do you know he donates it because of that group's stance on gays? Has he said so? I am appalled that some of you think that the Boson and Chicago mayoral positions on CFA is not an attack on the constitution. Amazing stuff. QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 04:46 AM) My intent was mainly to disassociate Christians with that position on homosexuality. Not all see it the way we assume, just most. I don't mean to make this a religious argument, but only religious topics are offended by fact-based arguments. My assessments of the writers of the bible are very subjective, but I hope the point that (by Earthly perception, which is what every other topic is bound by) humans wrote the Bible shines through as a worldly fact. These same humans, whether reading or writing the Bible, would not have understood a discussion of homosexuality since it didn't exist to their knowledge. My opinion is that the Bible makes no statements about homosexuality and thus the practice of marriage is not addressed to that end. So -- nothing else is under attack because there are no faith-based arguments in non-religious topics to muddy the waters when worldly facts are presented (other than politics sometimes ) My feeling is that too many hide behind their religion to support their fear of alternate sexuality. Greg or other religious folks in this thread may very well not be in this camp, but I cannot help but think that this common reading of religious text is perpetuated by those less noble than our good Soxtalk posters. Jake, I like you. But your initial post blasted the s*** out of people like me who believe in the Bible. It doesn't anger me, but I feel it proves a point. You blasted away because the liberal media and others mock believers all the time. It's allowed. Christians and Catholics (priest jokes) are the one group that gets leveled and nobody cares that we are offended. This Chic FilA thing has woken up many religious people. They fought back today. Let me ask you: Do you care that you offended me? Be honest. I don't hold your answer against you. But I assume you don't feel badly at all. All you did was offend a Catholic. Big deal, right? And by the way, despite the fact there are SICKOS everywhere, my religion has been ruined because of the bad priests who abused children. Nobody goes in the seminary any more because no parent can allow their child to consider being a leader in the religion with all the abusers. Fact is there are abusers in any field that includes children. It is a serious serious crime and all should be given the death penalty but it doesn't take away from the fact there are GOOD PRIESTS too. But everybody can mock away at those who believe because it's allowed. Other groups are protected.

QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Aug 2, 2012 -> 04:26 AM) Where have I said that CFA isnt well within their rights to say what they want? Im merely well within my rights not to buy their merchandise. To use an easy example: McDonalds could say they are for slavery and give money to pro-slavery groups. They are well within their rights to do that, no one can stop them from saying or believing whatever they want. But I dont have to keep going to McDonalds, I can correctly point out that McDonalds has an antiquated view that should be changed, and I can try and effectuate that change by hitting them where it hurts, public image and pocket. To you what he said isnt bad, to someone else its terrible. Its called opinion, we all unfortunately get one. I forgot to say I liked this post.
