QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 07:24 PM) Agreed. I'd also like to have a beer with him. He seems to be one of those guys who has a unique perspective on life. Very underrated poster. He's OK but he tends to whine at times.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 18, 2012 -> 12:02 AM) We're going to end up going through five closers in one season. Santiago, Thornton, Sale, Reed and eventually Nathan Jones. Reeds' stuff just hasn't been as crisp, for whatever reason. He's not going to get away with throwing 93-95 MPH up in the zone three times consecutively against any big league hitter. Cause, it's hard to be an automatic closer. That's why I puked when people ripped Bobby so badly at the end, forgetting for a long time that he was automatic. Reed is good, don't get me wrong, but as I said earlier, give him a full season and he'll blow 5 to 10 saves, which would have gotten Bobby crucified on here. Reed had a stretch where he was automatic. Hopefully he'll save many more than he blows.

Lilly needs some consistent at bats to become last year's Lilly again. Send him down a month.

Has Robin become an advocate of the Sunday lineup?

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 09:42 PM) Because he signed contracts to play baseball with SF and LA. But wouldn't it have been wise to lock him up in Chicago?

Why isn't Uribe still a member of the White Sox?

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 09:28 PM) 23. Wasn't considered as anything. Signed by Mets at age 17 out of Colombia, released within a year. Picked up by Yankees, pitched all last season for their High A team in the FSL. Everyone's raving about his stuff (Ventura compared him to Alvarez), his "heavy" ball coming into RHHer's, usually throws 88-91 MPH but keeps his pitch counts low...esentially a two pitch pitcher but has been very effective this season, although nobody really knows his eventual staying power. Thanks. I didn't know he was a soft tosser. QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 09:28 PM) Why don't you go find DA and have some beers. DA is the best poster.

Somebody said they absolutely hate AJ. Paulie accused of loafing. WTF.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 09:21 PM) Which should be a lesson to you. OK dad. Lots of people on here were blasting AJ and Paulie the other night. I mean, cmon. This message board is full of venom not just me hating on Dunn/Rios last year. Lots of people deserve "lessons."

How old is Quintana? Is he a surprise or considered a good prospect?

I would have thought there was zero percent chance I'd ever like Adam Dunn or Alex Rios. I salute both of them. Great seasons.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 05:54 PM) As a former season ticketholder, it was my final straw, and I had them long before 2005. I don't think I am far different than most. It seemed to confirm to me they were going into a total rebuild which I didn't want to spend that kind of money to watch, which also kills advanced sales. I think 1K a game may even be low. As Turns out, this season is far more enjoyable than I ever would have imagined, and while I miss my seats, I've been able to get real good deals and have still gone to about 10 games. It was sort of nice not "having" to go to games in April or May when it was not so nice outside. The only downside is if they make the playoffs, I miss out, but I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities to jump right back in if that appears a certainty. Dick Allen is the most reasonable poster on this site ... period. He is the guy you'd most want to go get a beer with.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 06:47 PM) That's not what I'm saying. I think losing Buerhle was the final straw for many people with season tickets as far as renewal and hurt pre season sales. This is very very true. The Sox did things to themselves that hurt from a ticket selling standpoint. Letting Mark was was huge. People on this board or some people tend to devalue the known players and want those who have not been around a while. Fans who go to the games loved Mark.

Not signing Mark was a slap in the face to all loyal fans. Keep Mark, sign Danks. Chicago is a big market team.

Do those of you who were calling for the Humber hook realize now that Robin made the right move? Four runs in three innings are not enough to pull your starter.

QUOTE (Baron @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 04:45 AM) Humber deserves another start after this outing I've seen enough; just cut him from my fantasy team. He reeks. Q-How many of you grilled tonight? I want a grilled hot dog bad.

GT: Chicago White Sox @ LA Dodgers
Humber is a menace to himself (liners up middle) and opponents (balls at their heads and nuts).

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 17, 2012 -> 04:33 AM) Yes, absolutely. Even Hawk is saying how terrible Humber has been tonight. Let's just hope he can give up another two scoreless innings. Hawk sounds pissed. I'm thinking he knows Humber just doesn't have what it takes. He needs to go on the DL for a while.
