  1. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 10, 2012 -> 03:20 AM) Went to the game today, great experience. Watching Sale pitch is a pleasure, even if it was from the upper deck. What's it like up there?
  2. I'm almost glad the people are speaking. Baseball has so many games it can't get away with charging these prices. The owners did it to themselves by paying these insane contracts to guys that are not stars. Cubs series will be packed or close to it; that'll be the only series this year unless the Sox start to run away with the division. The teams, which never open their books, will be fine, thanks to TV/radio contracts. Sox are making a killing even with no attendance to speak of.
  3. Sale is so good it's scary. Stewart is really really bad, not that it matters. Great hitting game as well. Nice to bounce back after a bad loss. It'd be very nice to do the same to Houston on Sunday and win the series.
  4. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 9, 2012 -> 11:37 PM) (In all seriousness, he's hit plenty of big, key HR this year. Won a game in Tampa recently, for example). The three dogs of last year have all been responsible for a lot of victories this season. Rios and Dunn have had many important hits and Peavy has been great.
  5. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 9, 2012 -> 05:43 PM) Thank God. Give me a break. Morel could hit as well as Hudson has and be 10 times better defensively. Morel haters are in good shape, though. He won't be back this year. This is Crede II.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 9, 2012 -> 03:39 AM) 22k in attendance About right. Only the diehards. We're a first place team but the whole experience isn't worth the cost in this economy.
  7. We better wake up and win 2 of 3. Bad start to round two of interleague, but hopefully it's a wake up call for the rest of the NL games. We suck tonight.
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 9, 2012 -> 03:11 AM) When I see Ohman coming in, I want to grab a bat. We always seem to have a guy like that, though I guess to be fair, most teams do as well.
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 9, 2012 -> 03:07 AM) I think he goes through stretches where he really wants to play, and some where he doesn't. I think he's in a stretch where he looks forward to playing right now, hopefully it lasts for a while. The scouting report when he was claimed was he didn't feel like playing all the time. Yeah that makes sense. The mental part of the game. Man we get blown out by Houston. Yuk.
  10. I would like to give our team a thumbs down for tonight but applaud Rios. If he played like this every year, he'd be a rather likeable player. He's hitting to all fields, doing great. My question to you is ... why does he stink some seasons? I mean really suck? You would think a guy with consistent at bats who never gets hurt like Rios would be more consistent. I mean he was a piece of dung last year and now he's fine. WTF?
  11. Not to be a broken record, but where are the home runs of late?? We need a ton of them to win games.
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 9, 2012 -> 02:32 AM) Well, that was a terrible at bat by AJ. Lots of players on Sox right now seem to have their heads elsewhere. I kind of agree, but that reliever looked pretty tough on a lefty didnt he?
  13. Damn. Sox need to beat this s***ty NL team. WTF.
  14. QUOTE (Jake @ Jun 9, 2012 -> 02:19 AM) I am going to hold Robin accountable here. If that play is practiced the amount it should be, it is NEVER messed up in that way. Gotta tie it up here. That's not on Robin. Lexi f***ed up royally. His bad and only his bad.
  15. Serious question: When's the last time we had a walk off victory at home in a 9-inning game? How many have we had this season and last? Looked strange to see it happen and stranger to see the guys jumping around on ESPN on the highlight of Hudson's hit. Sox finally got the walk-off base knock. Amazing.
  16. Nice interview with Hudson. He sounded humbled as he tries to learn how to play third base. Kind of nice he got the game-winning RBI. He's obviously not trying to screw up at the hot corner, just not get his block knocked off as he learns.
  17. Well, Hudson can stay. He wins the Sox a game! Way to go, Orlando.
  18. Tank on third with two out. Nice baserunning. Win it here or lose in extras. GET THE RUN IN! THIS IS IT!
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 03:57 AM) He's having all kinds of problems reacting in time to anything hit pretty well. Hudson's gonna get killed playing the hot corner. End that experiment, please. The ball is going to hit him in the face on a screamer. Yes ... man on second.
  20. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 01:25 AM) Wow did this team just come crashing back to earth hard. This series is looking like the old corpseball days. Do the White Sox not advance scout the Jays? How do you wake up a dead baseball team? Home runs. Or play Danks. These home losses are depressing.
  21. Those ugly Blue Jay uniforms have bored our team to sleep. Maybe they shoulda let Danks play tonight just as an entergizer bunny.
  22. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 01:53 AM) Play like crap at home all year and KW has the balls to cry about fanbase. I don't think he was crying. Sounds like reporters asked him a question and he answered it. But he should be humble because the White Sox have flat out sucked at home.
  23. Sox coulda used an early all star break after that long win streak. Team looks dead and Jake has nothing tonight.
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 8, 2012 -> 12:47 AM) Peavy's slider is fooling no one. Lots of excuses being made for Hudson, who played that off to the side instead of getting his body in front of it. Yeah I thought he might have played that poorly as well, but wasn't positive.
