  1. Expectations are so low for Dunn. If he was worth a s***, he would BLAST a game-tying home run right here. He's paid big money to help the White Sox win a game once in a while.
  2. How could Morel look like he had a clue the previous at bat and whack a single to center then against a hack not take the same pitch back up the middle or to right for a single??? Frustrating. We stink.
  3. Why didn't Brent dump that first pitch into center like his last at bat?? Meatball. WTF?
  4. Nice triple by DeAza. Let's see if the Sox can get two-out hits this season or if it's more of the same from last year.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 03:00 AM) He's not exactly Einstein when it comes to baseball. His head has been up his ass since the all star break in 2010. I really wonder why he can't concentrate for an employer that pays him so well. I was thinking the same thing. If I owned the team I'd at least call his agent and tell him to pass the word on to Rios that I think he is a bum.
  6. Is baseball the only sport you can screw up as badly as Rios and Dunn and have nobody ever say anything to you? I wish it was like college basketball where coaches could yell at them and get in their face.
  7. I've never seen that pickoff play work until tonight. Robin has to fine him for that blunder behind the scenes. That probably just cost us a chance at a victory is all.
  8. Nice job by Lexi and Rios. Idiots.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 02:46 AM) Contract.Year. Maybe. I bet guys do concentrate more during their contract year. Each at bat is more urgent. But I refuse to believe AJ is a dog in non contract years. I think he tries.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 02:39 AM) Honest question...if Dunn hits .175 again or so, does anyone think he'll retire after the year is over? No. He'll keep trying. AJ has become a lefthanded Paulie. 3-2.
  11. QUOTE (iamshack @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 02:36 AM) I can't believe you even spend the time to type this foolish nonsense that occurs in your brain. No one cares. In your world, do they care about all the other posts in this thread written by others? If so why?
  12. Boy the Sox stink. I still can't believe Rosenthal wrote that fluffy column on how good the Sox look after 1 week of baseball. Talk about over-reacting.
  13. No hitting coach in the history of baseball could help this anemic offense.
  14. Somebody predicted three hits for the Sox against Chen tonight. Good call by somebody. I forget whom.
  15. Dayan whiffs. Now comes Gordon. Mr. Automatic Out, good glove no hit.
  16. Happily I was wrong about the big inning by the O's. I will say Adam Dunn is probably the worst hitter against lefties I've ever ever ever seen. My god he is bad. I won't rip Robin for batting him third, but many of you would be upset if our previous manager hit Dunn third vs. lefties.
  17. Beckham is a good defender. Double play.
  18. Now watch a good hitting team take advantage of drawing a pair of walks. This is gonna be ugly. 2 on; no out.
  19. Only hope for this offense is the long ball again. And Sox aren't exactly hitting many home runs either. If this team is going to do anything ... home runs need to start coming in bunches all year long.
  20. Boy, the White Sox offense continues to suck. This has the makings of one, long season again in which the Sox waste some dandy starting pitching.
  21. QUOTE (docsox24 @ Apr 17, 2012 -> 08:56 PM) he is striking out at a worse rate than last year. i dont think he will ever be productive again Like we said last year, most pitchers would hit better than Dunn given as many at bats. Granted they wouldn't hit as many bombs as he did a year ago.
  22. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 17, 2012 -> 02:16 PM) Most sports marketing experts consider five years to the standard window when the benefits of a World Series title pretty much are expended. With multiple wins, like the Red Sox or Cardinals, over the last decade....it's a bit different in terms of sustainability. We've pretty much seen that same trend....late 2006 and 2007 killed all the momentum, we got SOME back in the 2008 but the last 3 years destroyed what was left of the fans' so-called "goodwill." Caufield is right. The 2005 WS is an eternity ago. Amazing. Kids that were not yet born are now in second grade.
  23. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 17, 2012 -> 08:43 PM) The rest of the season? Dunn had a huge spring, and already is on pace to far out-pace his numbers from last year (not that that is saying a lot). And it is 9 games into the season. You want to decide now to put Dunn 8th the rest of the season? Seriously? Sure I do. Viciedo will hit 20-30 home runs not even trying to. Dunn will be lucky again to sniff 20.
