I'm not totally sure I'd want to eat all of the Andruw Jones contract. It's not very feasible for our budget. 2005: $12.5M 2006: $13.0M 2007: $13.5M

I wouldn't go that far, I just think he wants to go to a team like Boston or NY that he feels will be a perennial contender or a team like the Mets who will throw insane money at him that he doesn't deserve. He's not one of the top 15 offensive players in baseball in my opinion and certainly doesn't merit the $ signs that are clouding his vision.

A few words: If he really wanted to be with the Sox long term, he would take what he deserves and quit talking publicly about a contract extension.

Another thing that kinda irks me is that on the day we sign Garcia, he makes these comments. And I'm sure he was asked about it, but hell, just keep your mouth shut and let this be Garcia's day in the sun.

And it has also been public far too much, with Maggs being a large contributor in it going public. If a good trade offer comes about, go ahead and deal him.

I have a feeling that the Garcia deal may not sit too well with Maggs and this is why: Maggs has been with the Sox six seasons now and is not getting the deal that he wants, despite all he has done for the Sox organization. And now you have Garcia, whom just two weeks ago was a member of Seattle, getting a contract extension immediately after being traded to the Southside. Common logic here says that if I am Ordonez, I am not happy about not being able to get the deal I am seeking after all of this time with the organization and a new pitcher comes in and gets the deal he wants immediately. This could all be a moot point anyhow because from what I've been told by a player in the Sox organization, Ordonez is gone after the season. And I also think this greatly diminishes the chances of signing Loaiza after the year, which won't bother me as much as losing Maggs.

Yes I did, she is coming down in early Aug for some Knights games so that should be fun. And hopefully we'll be doing some tailgaiting again with you later this summer.
