That's bad ass, nice work!

I've seen enough of Rowand and Perez in right field for the time being and with Mags out for an extended period, it is time to call Borchard up to the show to see what he can do on a regular basis. Here's what Borch is doing so far this year at AAA in 47 games: .289 BA, 10 HR, 38 RBI, .857 OPS, 12 doubles, 4 steals in 180 AB's, also he has struck out 38 times, which is fairly low for Borchard. I don't really see where Burke or Dransfeldt are helping us win and I think it's time to give Borchard his chance to play everyday for 4-6 weeks while Maggs is recovering... My questions are, why don't the Sox see this and why are they reluctant to give Joe the call?

BA now has Weaver going to the Yankees late in the first round... :puke Also, they said he could fall as far as the second round to the Red Sox or Cubs.

Lindsey Hunter can't guard Kobe, nobody can hold him....

Lakers in 5. Go Kobe

Sopranos is on, so after 9, the Sox go to the back burner.

I could care less about the Illini....This is a Sox board not a Illini board....

A few more good games for Borch and you've gotta figure he's gonna be up.

I didn't mind their early stuff at all, it was actually good, they weren't bad musicians either, the hard thing for me to swallow was their manufactured nature which after the first album they basically sold out themselves for all of the money and marketed directly towards top 40 radio. I also thought Stapp was an asshole, but he is a talented singer, I just cannot stand all of the poses and such that he did while on stage.

He won't be coming off the DL until he is ready. What he meant is that he is ELIGIBLE to come off the DL by then, but he will likely be out 4-7 weeks and they won't activate him until the day he is ready to play.

He did and he returned last night and went 1 for 4.

FYI, Reed went 2 for 4 tonight with 2 doubles, 3 runs and 2 RBI and is hitting .285...Enough with the service time BS, we are in the thick of things, use the best players we have and call him up.

Rowand and Gload.... :sleep Borchard and Reed....

Jamie Burke is not going to help you win games and if you believe otherwise, you are sadly mistaken.
-
He's been out about a week, but since Charlotte rarely updates their website with any injury related news, it's hard to know the severity of the injury. From what I know, it is not serious.

We need an everyday outfielder, which neither Rowand, Gload or Perez is. If Reed is healthy or Borchard is healthy, one of them should be called up. It's that simple. And BTW, Dransfeldt also lost a game for us on that groundball that he left go through his legs like they were a crochet wicket back in Baltimore. Yea, he got a hit to beat TB, so what?

I agree that we can't blame this totally on Koch, no one came up clutch today on offense, yet we are placing all of the blame on Billy and Adkins. How about a few clutch hits, fellas? Is that too much to ask?

If you want the sig put in, lemme know and I can take care of it.

We aren't going to win with these guys, what is the point of bringing up Jamie Burke? While the options aren't exactly exciting at Charlotte, why not Andres Torres a speed guy you can bring in to pinch run and also as a guy who can put down the bunt, something this team lacks greatly in certain situations? And why not Jeremy Reed, who has struggled, but is our number one prospect and could surely be an ample replacement for our missing outfielder in right... Kelly Dransfeldt is a guy who was RELEASED from AAA last year and Jamie Burke, while a nice guy and a good clubhouse guy, is pretty much a AAA player who is not going to help you win now or in the future. To me, these guys have NO upside whatsoever. We are better suited taking a chance on players who have the upside like Reed and even Torres (for pinch running and bunting situations) than calling up career minor leaguers. Who knows, maybe even Borchard should be mentioned if he is deemed ready to play in the next few days, which wouldn't be a surprise. Or perhaps, making a trade would best suit this situation. Nonetheless, I am not in the least bit happy with having Burke and Dransfeldt on the active roster... :headshake

Welcome to next season folks, let's see how the club responds. And depending on how severe Borchard's back problems are, if he comes back soon and begins hitting like he was before, he'll be up shortly.

This is an updated story from the previous one and it sounds to me that it's serious enough that he is going to miss significant time. He won't play again before the all-star break IMO...
