  1. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Nov 30, 2006 -> 10:09 PM) Did you even bother to read the article? It's amazing that an athlete can't say anything these days without being destroyed by fans. It's funny that people complain because Pujols doesn't talk to the media a lot and doesn't often open up to the public then the one time he decides to answer a question honestly he gets s*** on. It's pretty sad really. Yes I read it and now I know why he doesn't talk to the media. Dumbass comments like the one he made.
  2. http://redtape.msnbc.com/2006/11/researchers_who.html Worth a look if you have the time. Could make for some interesting discussion as well.
  3. They played two really good teams this year and got spanked by both. No way in hell they deserve to be in. No defense and they are as soft as they come in college football.
  4. Pujols should shut his f***ing mouth and be glad that a sad team like Detroit handed him a WS ring. He was clearly on the worst team to ever win the World Series and had they not been in the pathetic NL Central (which we stomped basically every team in that division this past year), his team wouldn't have even made the playoffs. Philadelphia traded away arguably its best player in Bobby Abreu and made a run because of Ryan Howard. He also had more HR and RBI than Albert. I respect him as a great player, but I will no longer root for Pujols. What a f***ing baby.
  5. He'd better keep Mrs. Thomas away from the clubhouse.
  6. QUOTE(fathom @ Nov 30, 2006 -> 06:33 PM) Yep, and we're going to really regret not upgrading our LF position. It's amazing to me that people would even consider bringing Pods back for around 3 million when he's an absolutely worthless player. I think I'd rather have Pods for 3 mil than Pierre for 9 million or Roberts for 5.5 mil. Especially when we've got several players who could command big contracts in the upcoming years (Crede, Buehrle, Dye if we choose to re-sign any of them). I'm not particularly thrilled at the idea of another season of Podsednik, but then again, I'm not willing to pay the money for the guys who were on the market and there aren't a lot of leadoff guys I'd trade for outside of Carl Crawford and some of the other elite leadoff guys, which are often mentioned on here, but are pipedreams in reality.

As much as I don't want Pods back, I will give the guy some dap for the walk-off he hit against the Astros in Game 2. One of the best moments ever in Sox history.
  9. Sorry if this was posted before... http://www.nbc4.tv/news/10414500/detail.html I mean I can't even really comment on this...it's just plain despicable.
  10. Time to sell high on Crede and get maximum value for him. As much as it pains me to say that, it's the reality. He could have just had his best season he'll ever have, Boras is his agent and he has a back problem. Sell, KW, Sell.
  11. Survey shows McGwire won't reach Hall. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15924940/ Justice in my mind for one of the biggest frauds ever in baseball. Get this guy out of here, I can't stand him and his "I'm not here to talk about the past" bulls***.
  12. Give her a rusty trombone, I'm sure she'll love it.
  13. Way to show some class there Mr. Foxx, I would say what I think of you, but it's probably not Soxtalk appropriate. What an idiot.
  14. My girlfriend actually was able to get the BB HP laptop for 379.99, someone from work waited in line and was getting something else and picked one up for her. As far as myself, I got some cheap DVD's at Target.
  15. I'd love to have Figgins, but I probably wouldn't give up what Anaheim would want for him. I definitely like the fact that he can play all around the field and has proven he can steal 50+ bases. There's no way I'd give up Crede or one of our starters in a deal for him unless it was Vazquez (I'd give him up simply to get rid of his awful salary for next season). Maybe if they're not sold on McPherson we could flip Fields for Figgy, but I'd also be hesitant to do that deal mainly because I think we could do better for Fields. My guess is Anaheim keeps him as a super sub and plays him a lot at 3B if McPherson doesn't get his act together.

QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ Nov 23, 2006 -> 07:14 PM) How do you platoon two lefties? Guess I should have reworded it, split time with Sweeney would be better. In other words, go with whoever is playing well at the time.
  17. No thanks on Freel. DUI guy and he's already reached his ceiling IMO. And his ceiling is a .270 hitter in the NL. He'd be lucky to hit that in the AL. I remember watching him here with the Bats and was surprised that he ever even made it to the big leagues. If we want to be a championship caliber team, he wouldn't be our leadoff guy.
  18. With Matthews Jr. and Pierre now off the market at ridiculous prices and Dave Roberts seemingly in line to get overpaid as well, could the Sox be forced to bring back Podsednik? The only options I really see the Sox having an interest in are Carl Crawford and Chone Figgins. Crawford would likely take Mac + big league regulars to obtain and Figgins would likely cost us either a combination of top level prospects or a starting pitcher + prospects. If Pods were to be retained, he'd have to certainly split time with Sweeney in the OF and be on a short leash. Unless KW has something up his sleeve to bring in someone established to take over the leadoff spot, will the Sox be forced to bring back Pods? I don't see a lot of options out there so maybe it is possible. I guess the upcoming weeks should tell us a lot. I really hope KW has a plan to grab us some speed so we're not forced to watch another year of Podsednik botch balls in LF and get caught stealing. If we do have to keep him, hopefully he's relatively healthy and doesn't have nagging injuries all season. Hell if we could get a 2005 year out of Pods that wouldn't be too shabby.
  19. Just found the XBox 360 deal again. Make sure you don't have any of the options checked in the boxes (just get the console), add it to the cart and it's yours for $340. http://configure.us.dell.com/dellstore/con...OX360C&fb=1
  20. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Nov 22, 2006 -> 01:18 PM) You have the link to the product page? I can't seem to find it on the website... Yesterday was the last day unfortunately...Here's the page... http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/product...mp;sku=A0561448 The discount wouldn't apply until the item was added to the cart, but it's no longer valid now.
  21. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 22, 2006 -> 11:52 AM) I bought mine at Costco because I know I can return it when Microsoft releases there updated Xbox (with HDMI hookup...wireless internet...and my guess of a HDDVD player standard). I pretty much know its going to happen sometime in the future. Would this be so at any Costco? Just wondering because they just opened one here and I am thinking of joining and may as well wait and get it there. Overall, should I join Costco? We're used to only having Sam's Club here but I've heard Costco is a lot better and since I don't even belong to Sam's, was thinking of joining up with Costco.
  22. FYI you can get the premium Xbox 360 right now on dell's website for $340 with free shipping.
  23. Is the version for regular X-box not out?
  24. Anyone pick this up yet? I'm thinking of getting it for X-box, but then again I haven't decided if I'm going to upgrade to the 360 after Christmas. Any thoughts about the game would be appreciated, I had last year's version and thought it was very solid.
