  1. QUOTE(Felix @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 03:01 PM) I think I would die if we got him. Seriously, he'd be a perfect fit in Chicago (even though there were rumors about him being an ass in the locker room awhile ago) It was also reported that he came to camp out of shape and doesn't put the work in to be the best player he can be. No thanks. Let him go to the Yankees, he sounds like a perfect fit for them.
  2. Let me correct my statement: Any relevant Sox player I can remember. Wells, Paniagua and Walker were not relevant. Wells was a fat turd who did nothing. Paniagua lasted what, one game and Kevin Walker hardly pitched.
  3. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 02:50 PM) I know this is probably the wrong thread for this, but with the rumors that Miguel Cabrera might be on the market this coming offseason, it will be interesting to see if Ozzie and company try to make a run at him. He'd be the perfect long-term fit for LF. We'd have to empty what's left of our minor league system to do it. I think I'd rather let Anderson, Owens and Sweeney develop and take our chances there than go after Cabrera. We're going to need to keep money free for Buehrle and Crede coming up so I don't really see us having the cash to throw around that Cabrera is going to command.
  4. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 11:27 AM) The thing is, Tex, if all things were equal (read: salaries), yes, I'd rather have Lee. So you'd rather have a guy who is disruptive in the clubhouse, as was evident by his behavior towards Marte that came out after he was dealt away than a guy who is a great clubhouse guy and doesn't cause problems. So you'd rather have a guy who is below average in left field and who dogs it most of the time than a guy who can make plays in left field and plays hard? So you'd rather have a guy who won nothing for us than a guy who was the tablesetter for a World Championship? Wow, makes perfect sense. There is a reason Ozzie wanted Carlos Lee gone. He is an all about me player and not a team guy. He'll have fun never winning anything in Milwaukee and putting up all-star numbers. He was never about winning, he was about Carlos Lee. He can rot for all I care, I probably hate him more than any Sox player I've seen in my life.
  5. Sad how people are bailing on Podsednik this quickly. It really is. Once he gets healthy or works back into playing shape, he'll be fine.
  6. QUOTE(SoxPride56 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 02:19 PM) Maybe the Blue Jays broadcast will be on Extra Innings. Nope, already checked.

QUOTE(watchtower41 @ Apr 14, 2006 -> 12:34 PM) I wouldnt stash him away on your fantasy team, s***, even coming out of the pen, the guy is one of the most consistent pitchers I have thus far. If you have a spot for him, put him in everyday. He is in, the league I am in, which is a 5 x 5 keeper league, we don't have a bench. So yes, I do have him in, but I can't go all season just having him in the pen. Here's my staff: Buehrle Felix Hernandez Brandon Webb Barry Zito Freddy Garcia John Lackey Francisco Liriano Bobby Jenks Chad Cordero Dan Miceli If he becomes a starter my staff becomes scary good.
  8. I think it was Stuart Scott, obviously he is too busy keeping up on the NBA and North Carolina and not MLB.
  9. Sad part is that since tonight is WCIU (which means it wont be on Extra Innings) I'm either going to have to actually listen or follow the game on GameDay.
  10. Do the Twins have any plans of moving him to the rotation this year? I thought it was quite odd that they have him in the pen and Baker in the rotation. I've got him stashed on my fantasy team and hoping he'll be in the rotation soon.
  11. One of my favorite things to do is now ruined. The Score has found a way to ruin Sox radio with Farmer as play-by-play, Singleton as Color and Rongey as the pre/post host. Vote and discuss. Hopefully someone from the Score stumbles across this poll.
  12. He's the last man on the roster and won't see much action. So I'd say it's not really important what he throws. He should be in A ball.
  13. Frank is just about done boys and girls. I called it long ago.
  14. Well although I am not going to throw Garland under the bus like some are here, I do think that 2005 may be the best season he can have. What we need from him is 200+ innings as usual and having him keep us in the ballgame. He can't really be judged on whether he kept us in the game for his first two starts due to the run support he received, but he can definitely throw better and we all know that. Was he deserving of the deal he got? Perhaps. Will he have to pitch better to justify it? Definitely. With that said, my guess is that we have the best 5th starter in the league and people should just relax and let Garland work things out. He'll be fine and should win 13-15 games with a respectable ERA.
  15. I think he needs some time either in extended spring training or in Charlotte or a trip to the DL. Right now, he's just not getting it done and he just doesn't look right.
  16. WHAT YOU THOUGHT YOU GUYS COULD BEAT THE WORLD CHAMPS?????????? HELL NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU COULDNT BEAT US LAST YEAR, THIS YEAR OR ANY YEAR AND THE FIRST SWEEP OF THE SEASON IS TODAY AND IT BEGINS WITH THE KITTENS FROM DETROIT!!!!!!!!!!! EAT s***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  17. First off, Buehrle and (insert name here) should be on the list. Second off, no way should Mussina and Johnson be on the list. Also, Beckett and Schilling No.1? What the f*** did those losers do last year to merit this spot? Also funny that they gave no love to Cleveland either. I think Lee and Sabathia/Westbrook could deserve mention.
  18. This was on Sportscenter a few nights ago and the video was well, disappointing.
  19. Good player, hear he's a knucklehead, good decision to stay in school at least another year.
  20. EAT s*** TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jose, Paulie, Thome
  21. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Apr 12, 2006 -> 10:47 AM) KS may want to take Gordon from Bruce Almighty, Sampson will keep his borders closed. Not too piss off any Illini fans since I think Gordon has a very firm verbal to ILL, but there is talk of KS hiring his Dad, Eric Gordon Sr. at IU. Reason being, IU's top assistant Jeff Meyer coached Gordon Sr. back in the 80's and they are very close friends. I know Meyer already has plans to try and get in on Gordon, so we'll see just how strong of a commitment he has to Illinois.
  22. I thought Taylor was horrible. That dancing should be outlawed everywhere. I thought Pickler, Elliott and Katharine were the best 3 performances.
  23. As long as Liotta, Lumsden or Sweeney were not involved, I'd do it in a heartbeat. I view him essentially the same way I viewed AJP when he was on the Twins. Hate him as a Twins player, would love him in a Sox uniform. Plus I am not yet sold as Brian Anderson as the future in CF. I like Anderson, don't get me wrong, but I think Sweeney and Owens both have a chance to overtake him in the future for OF spots.
  24. I remember a tailgate last year when I played catch with two girls: Rangercal's sister and Jason.
