Not a good day for Lillibridge. Meanwhile, Anderson is a beast on the basepaths ha

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 04:05 PM) It strikes me that a separated shoulder isn't just 15 days or so. I could be wrong. Depends on the severity. I know with hockey it's often a 1-2 week thing, but they arent using their shoulder the way baseball players do.

They're obviously scared of BA

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 04:02 PM) He's still looking for his first hit of the season. I wish, and I know it will not happen, they call up Beckham and moved Ramirez to CF. Has anyone from last year's draft class made their ML debut yet?

I know the majority of this board hates Wise but it's a shame he has to go out like this.
-
QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 03:48 PM) He would have to hit a gapper to deep right center that bounces around a whole lot, meanwhile, Granderson and Maggs would both have to trip over the grass and tumble a couple times for this to happen... Don't forget Paulie has an inside-the-park home run to his name haha

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 03:47 PM) Its not where you want to use your studs in the 6th inning either. But im talking about the 7th. Come on, were you comfortable seeing him out there after the Tiggers loaded the bases with 1 out the previous inning off him?
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 03:43 PM) In middle relief with a 4 run lead? Meh. An inning after loading the bases? I'm fine with him being on the roster but let's not act like a 4 run lead in the 7th is mop up duty either.

Here is the problem with Carrasco, IMO. Not that he is on the team, but that he get's used by Ozzie like this.
-
QUOTE (soxfan3530 @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 03:28 PM) I would take Egbert for sure and maybe even Marquez over him. That's the problem though. Egbert was pretty meh in AAA last year (although some people say he wasnt 100%) and Marquez is insurance if Colon/Contreras go down. We don't have anyone down in AAA/AA that is a risk-free viable option.
-
QUOTE (soxfan3530 @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 03:22 PM) carrasco has no business being on this team... period. Given that we have two iffy pitchers at the back end of our rotation right now, and having a couple guys who can throw multiple innings is a good idea, who in our organization would you rather have up here?

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 03:17 PM) clearly. Cant wait to see the GOP response. Isn't the biggest opponent to easing restrictions on Cuba actually a Democrat congressman from NJ?

QUOTE (scenario @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 03:06 PM) Owens isn't even starting in Charlotte. I think that ship has sailed. I'll believe it when I see it. I'd love to see Negron get a shot. He was a 1st rounder IIRC a while back. Obviously he hasnt panned out yet but the talent was apparently there to warrant that high of a pick. So it'd be interesting to see if he could put something together.
-
QUOTE (scenario @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 03:01 PM) If Wise is hurt, don't be surprised if Miguel Negron is called up instead of Kroeger. Not that I want to see it, but if Wise is hurt I wouldnt put it past them to call up Owens and insert him into the lineup as the every day starter while Wise is on the DL

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 02:06 PM) First time in MLB history teammates have hit "century" (100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, 700) homeruns in the same game. ^^^ Tim Kurkjian approves of this post

Good, I'd love to visit Cuba someday.

QUOTE (T R U @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 01:51 PM) man lost would be badass if it wasn't for the plot...and the actors...and pretty much everything about it So would wrestling, but only if everything about wrestling wasn't absolutely retarded

QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Apr 13, 2009 -> 11:40 AM) Politics aside, Im really curious how this is going to play out. These pirates already have 200+ hostages at this moment, if they start killing these people, countries around the world are going to get pissed at the US and French and blame them for instigating a reaction. To me, this was just waiting to happen as soon as they became bold enough to take a US ship My response to those countries would be to shut up and do something about it then. Yes, i worry for the 200+ current captives and hope the Somali pirates (who are basically terrorists in a different form) do not take out their "revenge on the US" on them. However, if that happens those countries should not blame us for a second. We did what was necessary to secure the freedom and release of one of our citizens (props to you Mr. Obama for taking a stand I doubt many in your party would have done). All these foreign countries need to realize that by continuously paying their ransom demands only leads to more and more hijackings (is that an applicable word for a pirate seizure?). This is quickly becoming a serious issue, and the world needs to start addressing it more seriously. Not just the pirates but Somalia in general. Not just the U.S either, but there needs to be an international effort to fix that f*** up of a country. But thats another issue. Anyways, my thoughts are with all those currently held captive by the Somali pirates and hope nothing bad becomes of them. Also, i'm so glad that they arrested one of the pirates and he wasnt killed...I'm sure he'll be treated real well in an American prison once the prison populace finds out why he is there

Anyone catch Hillary speaking about the piracy situation and begin to laugh? Our Secretary of State ladies and gentlemen...

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Apr 9, 2009 -> 10:24 AM) I turned it off after 5 minutes. I thought the writing and acting was subpar. It got better. It's definitely not NYPD Blue, but it's not trying to be.

Stuck around after Lost to watch the premiere of The Unusuals last night. I actually really enjoyed it. I'll probably give that show a couple more weeks now.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 7, 2009 -> 02:12 PM) Weren't the Republicans 2 months ago making an issue of how much of a waste that was? It's better stimulus than a tax cut, but just like all defense spending, its actual value to the country's future is limited. I don't recall that. I just remember Obama being questioned about it by a reporter is all.

QUOTE (kapkomet @ Apr 7, 2009 -> 02:10 PM) What's worse, these are high paying jobs of a highly technical nature. These people are too rich. Uh huh. http://www.wbng.com/news/local/42535277.html
