  1. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 5, 2014 -> 03:44 PM) The Buccs are not gonna make the playoffs this year and McCown will be 36 in 2015. At least give Glennon 8 more games to prove he sucks and finally cut him in the offseason. Yeah I really don't think Glennon looked that bad. McCown is not the answer, they should have at least given Glennon the rest of the year to see what they had
  2. QUOTE (scs787 @ Nov 5, 2014 -> 12:22 PM) Don't draft a 2nd QB they said, there will be options available they said..... Do I go with The Sanchise Hoyer Orton (Tough matchup) McCown Vick Bortels I kind of like Vick this week. He has a nice matchup with Pittsburgh and is always a threat for some free points with his legs. Orton scares me with the Chiefs' D. He holds the ball a long time and KC gets to the QB very quickly. Plus Watkins left practice with a groin so he may be out Sunday, who knows. Bortles could put up some junk time points so he could have a relevant fantasy day. I wouldn't consider the other 3 for this week.
  3. Calvin Johnson announced he is playing this week. Thank F'in God! Nice boost to a fantasy roster that's for sure
  4. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Nov 5, 2014 -> 09:26 AM) So I need to find a RB for this week off of the scrap heap, any thoughts on this pile of garbage? Lorenzo Taliaferro Bal - RB Peyton Hillis NYG - RB Bryce Brown Buf - RB Cedric Peerman Cin - RB Toby Gerhart Jax - RB James Starks GB - RB I'd rank them Starks, Taliaferro, ugh, Brown maybe?, then who cares. Hillis perhaps at 4.
  5. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 3, 2014 -> 02:14 PM) Also, Reid is an excellent coach. I'd rather have him then Harbaugh (I was so pissed we didn't hire him in the first place). He is an elite QB coach and mind and also knows how to run a team and adjust his play calling to his personell (offensively). No he doesn't. He's an upgrade to what KC has had in recent years but he's just brutal in his game management, play calling and decision making. He has misused KC's strength (their running game) that has cost them at least 3 wins over the past two seasons. It's so frustrating to watch sometimes.
  6. Last night's Walking Dead, while somewhat intriguing, was a major letdown since it took up the entirety of the episode.
  7. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 1, 2014 -> 06:07 PM) TCU got so lucky today. WVU just handed them that game. It's a joke that 12 people that supposedly know stuff about football think they are any good. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Nov 2, 2014 -> 11:22 AM) TCU absolutely blows. They are a joke. They would be lucky to beat Illinois. I don't know how you can say this with a straight face. They're second in the country in scoring, beat OU, crushed OKSt and won on the road to a good WVU team. And their one loss was only by 3 on the road to Baylor. TCU is legit and they deserve to be ranked where they are. QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 1, 2014 -> 10:07 PM) Two straight years of ND having no clue how to defend the option. Will be interesting to see if they improve in time for GT next year. If you only see that offense once a year or less, I'm sure it's not the focal point of practices and it's not something you can adjust to easily. That's what makes Navy and GT tough to play against even when you're the far superior team.
  8. Don't hold your breath on the s***ting thing (well, maybe do, heh) but our puppy who is now 5 months old still routinely s***s 6 or 7 times a day. And good amounts too. I have no idea how it can all come out of a dog his size.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 30, 2014 -> 10:00 PM) I haven't been as big of a fan of all of the soccer ones, but yeah, the series is great. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 30, 2014 -> 11:22 PM) I actually haven't seen the soccer ones so there ya go. The Two Escobars was one of the best one's of the entire series
  10. NCAA should throw the book at UNC This is from a beat writer in Hartford, so a lot of this is how it relates to UConn, but he makes good points. The NCAA needs to throw the hammer down on this one
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Oct 29, 2014 -> 10:26 AM) So Gurley took 3k in benefits, he gets to come back this season, and everyone still thinks the penalty is too harsh. What a difference a few years make in perception. I think people are pretty fed up with the NCAA at this point
  12. And as soon as I just mention that I hate vetoes, some guy who is probably out of it in my main league just traded away Lacy, Cam and Jordy Nelson for Randall Cobb, Romo and Mark Ingram. Ugh.
  13. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Oct 28, 2014 -> 01:02 AM) 2nd and 3, 3rd and 3, 4th and 3 and you don't give it to your RB who is average 7.4 yard per carry in the game and is on pace to beat the all-time single season rushing record.....That horrible playcalling at the end and the 2 fumbles by Murray/Randle really killed them tonight. Should have been an easy win, even despite McCoy's solid game and the defense showing their suck. Yeah that was an awful sequence of play calls. 7 yard run on 1st down and then you thrown 3 straight passes? And none of the passes was a quick screen against a team that had bringing the house all night? That was terrible.
  14. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Oct 28, 2014 -> 01:21 AM) Really well surpringly. She did wake up and start whining, to which I thought she just wanted to play, but she actually had to s***. She got a little bit on the front doorstep, but after she came back in she passed out and slept through the night fine. But today was a nightmare. I had her by myself all day, so I decided I'd rather just hang out with her outside on the nice day to avoid cleaning any poop messes inside. Well good thing, because she s*** 9 times today. And pissed about 15, all between the hours of noon and about 11pm. Also, she absolutely loves LOVES biting the hell out of me. She bites my hands, wrists, toes, ankles, back. I push her off and yell NO at her, but that makes her spaz out even more and growl and go insane. The best method I've found is just getting away from her. But in a big backyard, there are not many places to hide. I was jumping up on benches like a b**** to avoid this 9 pound terrorist, it was humiliating. She wouldn't even accept another toy to play with. I'd stuff a toy down her throat when she was biting and she'd just drop the toy and dive at me. We are trying to avoid putting her in her cage for punishment, because we don't want her to hate her cages. Puppies do that because they don't know any better. That's how they play. What you can try doing, is if she bites, make a cry or yelping type sound to show your displeasure and immediately stop playing with her. Wait for 30-60 seconds before showing her affection again. Over time, she will learn to soften how she bites/mouths and you can lower the threshold for what "hurts" until eventually the whole mouthing/biting thing is trained out of her. It's breaking a natural instinct/habit, so it's not going to happen over night or easily, but it does work.
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 28, 2014 -> 06:43 AM) Does anyone really pay attention to those projections? I don't. Think I was projected to only get 95 one time and scored 170. A couple guys in my league do and it's annoying. Lost by about .6 points this week despite having the 3rd highest score of near 170. Now 5-3 and haven't gotten anything from Calvin Johnson or Rashad Jennings in 4 weeks now. 3 losses in a row and now am 2nd in my division. Frustrating.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 26, 2014 -> 05:30 PM) Cats are Satans creatures. This. I always joke to my sister who is a cat fanatic that cats are Satan's servants. They're just not for me. I get that they are a lot easier to take care of and own but I'd rather have dogs. Everyone has their preferences. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Oct 27, 2014 -> 02:22 AM) Got my puppy home safe and sound. My brother brought over his 3 year old Golden and they played together for a while. It's funny because my brother's golden has always been the annoying dog that won't stop trying to play all the time, but this time it was our tiny little puppy chasing her around and jumping up nipping at her. All it took was my brother's dog tripping on top of her for her to realize she can't be running under big dogs like that. She is spending her first night 5 feet away from me right now in a cage in my room. I'm a little hesitant to turn the TV on or open the window because I don't want her to be awake all night, on the other hand, I don't want to be awake all night either. Hoping my parents will let me just leave her in the cage in the kitchen soon. I don't want to have to act like I got a baby in the room every night. How'd she do overnight?
  17. QUOTE (juddling @ Oct 27, 2014 -> 09:42 AM) Glad to see someone at TWD finally got the idea about pacing. this season has been moving along at a good clip. Season three TWD would have had Terminus last all season then bring back a few survivors for the next season. just in case someone didn't watch it yet..... Yes. This has been a fantastic start to the season. Based on the previews:
  18. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 26, 2014 -> 08:40 PM) They should probably beat someone good first. Unlike a couple years ago, they've actually looked really good this year outside of a game or two. Their ranking is legit. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 27, 2014 -> 08:36 AM) ASU should be a tough game, but if ND is 10-1 with a playoff spot on the line, USC will be a total beatdown. They aren't very good. I'd give Louisville a better chance than USC at beating ND. I'm actually quite worried about FSU's trip to Louisville on Thursday. That's a tough defense. Not going to be an easy win for any team.
  19. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Oct 24, 2014 -> 02:46 AM) I'm the commissioner of my league. Check out this awful trade that someone is trying to pass..... Russel Wilson for Michael Crabtree Bishop Sankey There's nothing wrong with that trade. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 24, 2014 -> 09:06 AM) Your league should have a veto process No league should have a veto process because people use the veto as a weapon and not how it is supposed to be used QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 26, 2014 -> 07:30 PM) I'm going to score 160 and lose. Roethlisberger and Brown have combined for 80. I have Sanders and Charles and they got me 65 combined. I still have Jordy and Cobb left so there's still some hope. I scored 167 this week. I'm up 5 points and he has Niles Paul going tonight (PPR). I'm pretty sure I'm going to lose because Jeremy Maclin and Kyle Orton combined for like 80 points
  20. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Oct 23, 2014 -> 10:42 AM) Minnesota got a big penalty a decade ago for like 20 students. This is 3100 over an 18 year period. UNC should be losing banners, vacating seasons and banning themselves from postseason play for a few years. Sucks that Illinois can't be named the 2005 champs if the title is vacated. Yep. And if UConn had a post season ban for their issue, then UNC should have to forget about the post-season for the next 10.
  21. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 23, 2014 -> 09:28 AM) In the comics Ultron is an advanced AI built by Hank Pym (the first Ant-Man, will be played by Michael Douglas), though he brainwashed Pym into initially forgetting that he created him. He is genocidal because he believes that humanity is too chaotic to function in a peaceful world, thus need to be killed. Alternative versions of Ultron have him as a peace-keeping robot made by Pym, who again reaches the conclusion that humanity can't be peaceful. In the movies he'll be made by Stark to replace SHIELD / the ending of IM3. Thanks
  22. Hey Kyle, so I don't have to dig through wikipedia, do you mind giving a real quick synopsis of what/who Ultron is? I would say I have a decent knowledge of the Marvel universe but I don't think really anything about Ultron. I'm guessing the one MCU movie I have not seen (IM3) shed some light on it though
  23. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Oct 21, 2014 -> 05:40 PM) We all know it's a weekly game, and half the fun is tracking just your team against one other set of guys, but I've long thought about trying to make it more fair. I wouldn't just do cumulative points for the year, but instead just have a cumulative record every week. So you still have to be consistent. Because sometimes points scored can be misleading, you could have the most points 3 weeks and the least amount of points (or close to it) 3 weeks and be 3-3. Yet a quick glance at points for would have someone up towards the top, thinking they should be better than 3 and 3 when they really shouldn't. In this scenario you'd "play" 9 teams every week, and you keep tally of your record the entire year. That would certainly level out some of the randomness (as if fantasy football isn't random enough as it is). In a way, it's almost like fan duel every week, just playing out the whole season. Your team is up against everyone else, not just one team. I've heard of those leagues. Personally, as maddening as it can be when you have s*** luck in terms of schedule and timing in FF, I just prefer the head to head format. Our league is 12 teams and has 3 divisions, the division winners get their money back and we award a weekly payout for top scoring team so there's a better chance of winning something with a strong team.
  24. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 21, 2014 -> 03:14 PM) Isaiah Briscoe cutting list down to 3 this week. Looking at the list geographically, Mizzou sticks out like a sore thumb. I've always been confused how long we've been in this race, so if we stay in top 3 I will just enjoy the exposure of the top PG considering us. It's believed his final three will be UK, UConn and St. John's
  25. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 21, 2014 -> 04:11 PM) Where did you get him in the 2nd round? That's pretty late for him to fall. We're essentially a 2QB league (QB can play in FLEX), I had the #11 pick. I was shocked he fell, but everyone decided to load up on RBs and QBs in the 1st and the guy who picked at 12 took Jimmy Graham as his 2nd instead so I pounced on him.
