  1. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 4, 2014 -> 08:58 AM) Homeland has been exceptional the past few weeks. Yes it has, it's so much better when it gets away from the "crazy Carrie" story lines.
  2. In the two leagues I care about the most I'm in one of those situations everyone who plays in multiple leagues dreads. (Both are QB in the Flex leagues) In the league I'm the #1 seed in, I have Drew Brees and Mike Evans. The guy I'm playing in my other league where I'm the 3 seed has Drew Brees, Mike Evans and Jimmy Graham. Meanwhile, the 8 seed I'm playing has Jay Cutler, Alshon Jeffery and Justin Forsett. My 3 seed in the other league I start all 3 as well. I'd gladly walk away with winning 1 of my matchups this week. Brutal!
  3. QUOTE (staxx @ Dec 4, 2014 -> 08:31 AM) happy beginning of playoffs! 4 questionables with megaton, alshon, ellington and desean this week. could be a short playoff run for me if they're out Megatron isn't questionable, don't worry. Ellington is almost assuredly out though and DJax won't be 100% if he plays so I'd make alternate plans for them
  4. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 02:37 PM) That's the only market the team that runs that conference cares about. Well if they care more about the market, there's UTEP in western Texas, New Mexico, and maybe UNLV/Nevada they could go after. I think they should look into Utah/BYU/Boise and then a 4th to get to 14 teams
  5. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 02:00 PM) Isn't that a little bit anticlimactic when you already know what the final score will be? true, but the experience would be great nevertheless
  6. Make every single MLB stadium Get to Kansas City for a Chiefs game US World Cup Qualifier vs Mexico in Columbus World Cup match(es) anywhere Tottenham/Arsenal in London Roma/Lazio in Rome NCAA Tourney Final Winter Olympics Hockey Gold Medal Game Kentucky Derby
  7. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 10:43 AM) What if they did the first round being the better seed gets a home game or a regional game? If they ever go to 8 teams, I agree the first round should be at the home site of the teams ranked 1-4.
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 10:15 AM) Vick also had some game left in him, and a lot of people doubt that Rice can still be the explosive back that he used to be. I could see him providing some value as a 3rd down back. He's always been a good receiving RB
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 10:12 AM) Everyone has their opinion. Once again the extra conference title game is weighed very heavily for the playoff. If everyone in the top 6 wins out this weekend I am willing to bet anything that OSU moves into the last spot because I am certain thats the case from what I know. But like I said, with the 3rd string QB the odds are very slim that this will happen and my guess is the 4 that are there now stay exactly the same. Moves in to the last spot over who then? FSU or TCU?
  10. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 08:57 AM) Looking back at the OSU non conference schedule, it's better than I realized. No one as good as Minnesota, but Navy, VA Tech, and Cincinnati are all way better than the other teams TCU played. And let's not even discuss Baylor's schedule It's not a bad OOC schedule but it's nothing to brag about. Va Tech isn't very good and Navy isn't as good as their 6 wins indicate as all of their wins have been against crap competition. Thankfully for TCU they scheduled Minnesota because SMU is one of the worst teams in FBS and their only other OOC game was an FCS opponent
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 3, 2014 -> 08:35 AM) Accept OSU will have the better win, twice as many wins against .500 or better teams and the all important conference championship win. Meanwhile TCU basically has a bye. I don't really agree with that. TCU had 4 top 25 wins (plus Minnesota) while OSU will have had 3 if they beat Wisconsin. They shared one common opponent (Minnesota) who TCU beat more convincingly. TCU will also have a conference championship. There is no title game but there is a champion (albeit shared). TCU having a bye is kind of irrelevant since that's how the schedule shook out. Would it have made a difference if they played ISU in September and instead beat Oklahoma this week? OSU also has that terrible loss while TCU's only loss was on the road by 3 to the #6 team in the country. I think they are very similar but I see a slightly better resume right now for TCU. If one of those 4 teams were to lose OSU should be the first to move in, but if no one loses, I struggle to find justification to move any of them out
  12. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 2, 2014 -> 08:31 PM) If OSU wins convincingly over Wisconsin they jump TCU into the top four without a doubt. Without Barrett the odds are very slim. I don't know about that. Maybe if TCU plays brutally against ISU it could happen but if TCU rolls them as expected I don't think you can really argue that TCU does not deserve to be in the top 4.
  13. I'm in 3 leagues I care about and a 4th I just do since I'm friends with the guys but don't care too much about (non-PPR, no fractional scoring). I'm 1st in the one I care the most about but the 8 seed has the 4th most points in the league (He's the 8th seed because the worst playoff team is the 7 seed since he beat a guy last week by 20 who was out of it and played 4 players who didn't even play - kind of pissed about that). I'm 3rd and 1st in the other two I care about and snuck into 6th in the other one to make the final playoff spot.
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 2, 2014 -> 09:11 AM) It's pretty impressive when you have the fewest rushing attempts in franchise history, and the franchise is the oldest one in the league. Especially when you have one of the top 5 or 6 RBs in the league as well
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 1, 2014 -> 11:05 PM) Never watched The Walking Dead before two weeks ago and blitzed through the entire series in two weeks or so. I really hated the second half of last season after the 2nd battle for the prison, and, like others have pointed out....where does the series go from here? (A Maggie and Rosita Bikini car wash fundraiser?) They did a lot of individual character development in the second half of season 4, and it seems like half of that effort's been wiped out now. The heart of that series to me is really Hershel and The Governor, those two extremes...with Rick Grimes landing in the middle of the two polar opposites, essentially. Now that the Washington, D.C., angle has been closed off...just feel the show needs to "get big" again, like the time when they went to Atlanta/CDC and tried to investigate a possible solution to the plague. When they're traipsing along without a farm, prison, Terminus, Woodbury as the backdrop...the show becomes like another version of The Road. It's the group dynamics...the utilitarian "greatest good for the greatest number" scenes with Rick struggling for leadership that are the most compelling IMO, as well as fending off challenges from the Shanes, Gareths and Abrahams of the world. Very mild spoilers, but in the comics there is still one major setting that they have yet to touch on and also a villain that . Also, one of my favorite characters has yet to arrive and he has a pet . They have a lot of material to work with still and as long as they don't drag out how to get to some of it, next season has a chance to be really, really good.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 2, 2014 -> 06:58 AM) Our league got rid of divisions because it screwed up the scheduling. With 12 teams we play our division rivals twice and then everyone else except one team once. We also assign 3 captains who draft their own divisions. The 9th place winner and 5th place winner are captains (nice way to entice people to play all 16 weeks) and then we randomly draw one of the top 4 places out of a hat to be the 3rd captain. It's a fun little addition to the league.
  17. QUOTE (TRU @ Dec 1, 2014 -> 02:22 PM) Divisions are the worst. We had a team get the 2 seed and a bye last year at 6-7. We scrapped divisions this year and its much better We have 3 divisions and winners actually get their money back. I won my division this year and our division has the top 3 teams in points scored and 4 out of the top 5. I'm not a commissioner so I don't know how it's done, but is there a way on yahoo to set it up so that the division winners do not automatically get the top 3 seeds?
  18. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 26, 2014 -> 09:41 AM) Trading up high in the draft, you better hit on a player or your team is in trouble for a long time. It's still early, but Buffalo traded a 1st round pick to move up and take Watkins. Could have stayed at 9 and had Odell Beckham. Not that Watkins is bad, but he isn't a 1st round pick better than Beckham. I criticized that trade immediately. Too high of a price to add a WR on a team with multiple holes to fill. Watkins looks like he'll be a really good WR, but the same can be said of Evans, Benjamin, Cooks and Beckham, who were all taken later.
  19. Eric Berry is going to see a lymphoma specialist in Atlanta today after the Chiefs doctors discovered a mass in his right chest over the weekend. They're pretty sure that it is going to be confirmed to be cancerous.
  20. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 09:34 AM) People on here like to call black people "animals". Little bit disturbing. People acting like animals deserve to be called such, no matter what race, creed, ethnicity or whatever they are.
  21. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 10:05 PM) Less than a minute after the shooting people were on film running towards the officer yelling "He had his ****ing hands up". That's a helluva lot more believable to me than eyewitness statements and the evaluation of a prosecutor who brought the case to a grand jury and then spent like 20 minutes telling why the press was irresponsible and it was really their fault. Of all the people who post here, for you to ignore forensic evidence is just baffling.
  22. QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 05:05 PM) Comedy is entirely subjective so while Tracy Morgan might not be your cup of tea, he was still absolutely hilarious in his heyday. He's funnier when he's not acting and just being himself too. I wish I knew what drew me to the more explicit types of comedy. He was great on SNL and 30 Rock, but that's because he was being himself basically. But if that's all he can do and if just uses the same shtick elsewhere I can see how it get tiresome and boring.
  23. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Nov 25, 2014 -> 07:43 AM) If the season ended today, the 4-7 Falcons would host a playoff game. I think the NFL should make it mandatory to have at least 8 wins to be eligible for the playoffs. Still reward the division winner with a playoff spot if they meet that mark, but if not give it to the next best wildcard team that may have 9 or 10 wins.
  24. Well thank God for Drew Brees and Justin Tucker. I won by 8 so that 50 yard FG and last minute TD were the difference.
  25. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 24, 2014 -> 09:46 AM) Beckhams catch was the most athletic catch i have ever seen. David Tyrees catch was the best i have ever seen given the situation But Tyree used gum to help him out so
