  1. Group petitioning for San Diego State to drop "Aztecs" name
  2. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Oct 10, 2014 -> 12:19 AM) I will disagree. Keenan has been bad this year. He's had 4 good to great matchups in 5 games , yet only 1 game over 55 yards. On top of that, Gates and Royal will get most of the red zone targets in that system. I am starting Marshall, and Steve Smith with Benjamin over Keenan as my flex this week. Eddie Royal is not a red zone threat. It's an aberration. He does this to everyone every couple of years in the early part of the season. QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Oct 10, 2014 -> 07:54 AM) Looking to add a deep sleeper at RB with big FUTURE upside. Who do I add? CJ anderson, storm johnson, or Crowell? Crowell or Anderson, I'd lean Crowell due to Tate's injury history. Storm Johnson is not a good RB and has one of the worst O-lines in the league to run behind
  3. So my big money league is a league where you can play a QB in the FLEX and every TD is worth 6 points, so every QB is owned. I had the #1 waiver for a couple weeks and finally used it last week to grab Kyle Orton. He was my 4th QB (behind Luck, Smith, Bridgewater). I was just able to trade Orton to a guy who because of injuries has just 1 QB and got Percy Harvin out of him. He wanted to send me Andre Johnson but I said I needed a WR this week (Calvin hurt, Evans hurt, Cooks bye, Gordon suspended) so the trade wouldn't go through in time and was able to talk him into Percy Harvin straight up. I was surprised he did it but he was desperate. And i'll take it
  4. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 7, 2014 -> 10:13 AM) Nope, not with the money committed to Cutler for the next 3 years. The money is invested now, boom or bust The Packers let Rodgers sit behind Favre for 3 years so you never know. Especially if they pick in the 20's, there's not as much pressure as picking a QB in the top 5 or so.
  5. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 3, 2014 -> 07:59 AM) I can't catch a break. He kills me on my lineup two weeks in a row, so I bench him. Then, he goes off for 27 last night. :-/ QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 3, 2014 -> 10:39 AM) 3-1 in two, 2-2 in the third. QUOTE (knightni @ Oct 7, 2014 -> 09:03 AM) Unless there's a late day scoring change, I was 3-0 last weekend. Barely squeaking by in two of the leagues. I had benched guys that could have made the matchups less competitive but I second-guessed myself. I'd love to not be able catch a break in FF and be 4-1, 4-1 and 3-2 through 5 weeks
  6. QUOTE (scs787 @ Oct 6, 2014 -> 03:02 PM) 2 Questions. Is AP done for sure? Who's the better pickup, Oliver, Hillman, or Andre Williams? Ball and Jennings injuries look more severe than Donald Browns(Though concussions can be tricky) making Hillman and Williams more valuable for longer it would appear, but Oliver had a huge week. 1) For this season, no, but I'd say there's about a 90% certainty that yes it is. 2) Assuming you do not own any of the starters in those backfields, I'd rank them Hillman, Williams, Oliver. Ball might have a serious groin issue, Jennings will only be miss a couple games and Mathews should be back in a couple weeks as well. Hillman will be tied to the Denver offense, but will lose carries to CJ Anderson, Williams is a plodder and isn't that great IMO so he'll return to second fiddle when Jennings returns and Oliver will play passing downs but is the clear #3 when all RBs are healthy
  7. Nevermind, I saw your post about the match and didn't click the link, but after seeing Rock's post I just assumed he was saying SI screwed up and was talking about the University of Miami (FL). News about a team scheduling Miami of Ohio 3 years down the road is hardly news so that again made me think it was the one in Florida.
  8. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Oct 6, 2014 -> 01:17 PM) Let me know if you need help with tickets. Can usually get tickets for unranked opponents at face value. Miami could very well be ranked in 2017. And even if they are not, their name recognition might drive those prices up.
  9. QUOTE (Y2HH @ Oct 6, 2014 -> 11:32 AM) Just the fact that certain bans have occurred shows that while he tends to take things too far (it's what he does), it's not out of the realm of sanity to be careful when it comes to something like this. I don't trust customs or the TSA (or most security measures related to the US airline industry) to do much that could prevent this from spreading, be it in this country or whatever variations exist in other countries. Answering some questionnaire is just ... not a valid safety measure if you ask me when talking about something with a multi-week incubation period. I agree. Obviously the Donald is an extremist, but I think there should be some tougher and stricter measure of coming into this country from those infected areas right now.
  10. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 6, 2014 -> 10:12 AM) I feel like Bama is gonna end up on top again and everyone will be disappointed. I don't think 1 loss will kill them because Bo Wallace will have a 4 INT game vs someone One loss doesn't kill them but they still have Auburn, A&M and Mississippi St (and @ LSU) on the schedule so they no longer have any margin of error. One more loss and they are done.
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 6, 2014 -> 09:28 AM) Logan Thomas was an awful college QB at V-Tech. Why the hell did the Cardinals have him on their roster, let alone in a position to actually have to play in a NFL game? Because they're the Cardinals
  12. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 6, 2014 -> 09:18 AM) How many non-stop flights are there from sub-Saharan Africa to the US, anyway? Without looking, I'm pretty sure there are some into Dulles and Atlanta from Ghana and Senegal. When I was looking into going to South Africa for the WC back in 2010 I seem to recall a lot of stops there.
  13. Mississippi St. and Ole Miss are both still 33/1 to win the National Championship. Both seem worth a shot to me.
  14. Deadspin: Stevie Wonder is Not Blind Stevie Wonder truthers are the best truthers
  15. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 3, 2014 -> 05:36 PM) Bad Judge is as bad at Kate Walsh is hot. That's what I expected based on the previews. Glad I was correct and didn't bother
  16. They may not end up winning the title, but Auburn to me is the best team in the country. No one else is even particularly close IMO.
  17. Hey, Calvin Johnson, just don't play until you're healthy. K thanks.
  18. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 3, 2014 -> 04:31 PM) Looks like you don't even have to have the Winter Olympics in a cold city anymore. I hope more countries back-out and make the IOC scramble to find someone. Both those cities will be around freezing in January/February. Much better than Sochi.
  19. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 3, 2014 -> 09:37 AM) Anyone ever checked the prices of tickets for the draft? A few of us are thinking of going next year, and I can't find any info on the price. I can't imagine it's anything that'll break the bank, but just wondering. In NYC it was free but first come first served. Basically you had to camp out overnight 12 hours or so to be close enough in line to get in.
  20. Made my final payment to the ring I bought a year ago yesterday. Boy that feels good! Now I can go spend that monthly payment on the new car I've been putting off....right after I pay for the wedding band that is
  21. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Oct 3, 2014 -> 02:00 AM) Any new shows you guys been watching? besides that Gotham show. Scorpion, Red Band Society, and the first episode of Black-ish I have watched and none that I love but none bad enough to stop watching. Black-ish was actually funny to me but I know a lot of people can't take the whole race thing the show does. I am thinking about checking out How to Get Away With Murder. It has some good reviews. I watched the first Scorpion episode last night and thought it was decent. And you can count me in the crowd that won't watch Black-ish for the same reason you mentioned. I don't need to watch a show, any show, that uses the race card (any race card) as the primary draw. Not for me.
  22. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Oct 3, 2014 -> 01:32 AM) Some reporter(s) in STL saying that the Rams to LA is a done deal. Will be announced after the Super Bowl I guess. As a Rams fan, I'm not pleased. I don't want to be have to be someone who roots for an LA team. I thought you were a Cowboys fan?
  23. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 3, 2014 -> 12:02 AM) The Arizona/Oregon game over/under opened around 70, it got all the way up to 84 this morning, and ended up around 81.5. It's a 7-3 halftime score. Yeah that was shocking to me. I hammered home the under 83.5 I caught mid afternoon so that was easy
  24. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 1, 2014 -> 05:37 PM) I have a sentimental attachment to the intentional walk simply because you have to make the guy throw intentional balls. Craziness usually does not ensue, but can on occasion and that's the fun part of the game. Otherwise, I love everything else. Yeah I like all of those except the intentional walk as well. I think they should have to throw the pitches. I've seen players swing at a ball too close, pitches sail over the catcher and runners attempt to steal a bag. It's still an at bat, make the pitchers throw the ball.
  25. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 1, 2014 -> 04:35 PM) 2nd episode of Gotham was great as well. Just finally got around to watching the first two episodes yesterday and it's got me. It has been fantastic so far. Blacklist has returned very strongly as well and I have also enjoyed the new show Forever. Not as dramatic as the others but it's been fun
