  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 2, 2014 -> 01:33 PM) I believe it was during the fight it was suspected. Ah, I may have just missed that or forgot about it. Hopefully they eventually get to it
  2. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 2, 2014 -> 12:48 PM) They didnt hit on the fact that the
  3. That was a great episode. Fight scene was done very well, and yeah, despite how graphic it is in the books, that was arguably even more so. My fiance's reaction was great. She basically demanded me tell her what happens next I think next week might take place completely at the wall, or at least the overwhelming majority of it. I heard there was an episode like that and the previews are exclusively there. Episode 10 will have the "other stuff'.
  4. Up 6-5 in the 7th against the team that has won 2 of the last 3 championships. 2 outs and 2 runners on. A hit to left. Play at the plate, throw beats him and our catcher misses the catch. Tie game. They then get 5 or 6 straight hits and we lose 9-7. Very frustrating.
  5. QUOTE (illinilaw08 @ May 29, 2014 -> 03:28 PM) Lots of homer picks in this thread... the US getting out of the group is 3/3. I really don't think it's that much of a homer pick. Germany is obviously the class of the group but it's really wide open after that. Outside of Ronaldo, who scares you on Portugal? Nani? Almeida? A draw with them is entirely possible, and it's not like their backline and goaltender are that strong. And with Pepe and Coentrao they could grab a red at any time. The Ghana game is the big one and it could go either way IMO. Getting Germany last is also a blessing. If they win over Portugal and Ghana and don't need a result in the last round we'll probably see a few of their players sitting. Neuer, Lahm, Khedira and Schweinstager are also battling injuries. It's a tall task to emerge from the group, but I can't see Ghana or Portugal relishing their chances to advance much more than we do, honestly.

  7. Jurgen's ego made this decision. That and the fact that I feel as if he's looking towards 2018 at the expense of 2014. Rumors that JK has had a rift with Landon since his days at Bayern. You can not convince me Landon isn't one of the USMNT's top 5 or 6 players, let alone top 23. Who would you rather have, Landon or Wondo? Landon or Green? Landon or Bedoya? Landon or Davis? I mean, it's a pretty easy answer every time. Then you have Goodson and Parkhurst at home instead of Brooks, who's been awful internationally, and Chandler who has also and hasn't even been called in since last February. Maurice Edu, who can play CM, CDM, CB (or RB in a pinch), would have also been valuable over Davis, who does nothing for this team. Yedlin is also not ready. This is a baffling roster. Jurgen is wrong, of that I have no doubt. And unfortunately we are going to see quite obviously that this was a mistake in a few weeks.
  8. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 23, 2014 -> 07:55 AM) Has anyone watched Penny Dreadful? I have recorded it but haven't sat down to watch yet I watched the first episode. It was alright. I'll watch again when I have time or think about it.
  9. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 22, 2014 -> 09:55 AM) Rumors about Clevelands number one for Kevin Love. Lololol when he leaves after one year QUOTE (Steve9347 @ May 22, 2014 -> 10:21 AM) That'd be quite dumb, and predictable, of Cleveland. Not if you could work it into being a sign and trade type deal ahead of time.
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ May 21, 2014 -> 04:45 PM) lol, i will take the lack of response as "your jerseys are lame". Which is fine, since I didnt design them They're hard to see since you can't enlarge the image
  11. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ May 21, 2014 -> 12:00 AM) Rienzo is 4-0 with a 4.00 ERA. That's pretty good out of your number 5 starter. He is definitely earning himself a spot for the rest of the season and into next season maybe. I'd like to see when healthy Sale Quintana ??? Danks Rienzo Yeah there's definitely talent in that arm. I see no reason why he shouldn't be in the rotation the rest of year. Hopefully he can prove to be an effective 4/5 starter for years to come.
  12. I understand people being frustrated with Lindstrom's performance and somewhat ambivalent (or in some cases, glad) he's no longer the closer, but this is really a frustrating injury. We're not competing this year. I just can't see us seriously thinking we have a shot come July. Lindstrom is a veteran pitcher who has had success in his past. We really should have wanted him to be our closer, essentially no matter what, right up until the trade deadline in hopes that someone desperate for BP help came calling and offered us a B-level prospect for him. This no appears extremely unlikely to happen.
  13. QUOTE (southside hitman @ May 20, 2014 -> 04:02 PM) Same story with him. He'll be a stud for a few weeks then disappear for a month. He's 23 and repeating the level he should doing better against AA pitching. At this point I almost just feel like they should let him sink or swim in Charlotte.
  14. QUOTE (Jake @ May 21, 2014 -> 02:35 AM) In his defense, he is walking a bunch I think that's always been a small part of his problem. He has a good eye, but he's not aggressive enough, gets himself in 2 strike situations too often and since he doesn't have the greatest contact ability a lot of his long at bats end up resulting in strikeouts.
  15. Anyone watch Banshee? A guy at work gave me the first 2 seasons and I just finished watching season 1. I liked it quite a bit. Lots of sex and violence, pretty good story, albeit sometimes over the top.
  16. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 13, 2014 -> 12:05 PM) Even with Julio Jones, I still think there's some regret by the Falcons on that deal. I think teams that trade multiple first round picks to move up and select a player end up regretting it later on more often that not in general.
  17. Peter Dinklage absolutely nailed the scene where he demands a trial by combat last night. I knew what to expect from the books but that was so perfectly written and acted. That is an Emmy nominating scene right there without a doubt to me
  18. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 11, 2014 -> 07:55 PM) Really like Bears signing UFA linebacker Christian Jones. Had a 3rd round grade and could be a starter sooner than later. FSU bias possibly, but I always thought he was an NFL player while watching him in college. I was shocked he went undrafted.
  19. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 7, 2014 -> 04:08 PM) And City finally breaks through. What a nasty, nasty rain. That 4th goal from Yaya. My god, someone his size shouldn't be able to do that. With the form he and Gervinho are in right now, Ivory Coast has the capability of making some noise
  20. Well, with absolutely nothing to play for, Villa has decided to pull a Chelsea and have parked the bus with all 11 men within about 5 feet of the 18
  21. QUOTE (danman31 @ May 5, 2014 -> 08:45 PM) In fairness, it already looked pretty likely. Man City wasn't going to blow either of those home games. True, but Liverpool were up 3-0 in the 55' and frankly, should have been up 5 or 6-0 at that point with some of their missed chances. If they could have scored a couple more it would not have been impossible that they could have turned the GD around. Not likely, but it at least would have made Sunday a little more meaningful. And from a betting standpoint, the over in Sunday's Liverpool game would essentially be free $$$
  22. Liverpool just had the most incredible of collapses. Unbelievable. Looks pretty certain City is going to win the EPL again
  23. So if Rondon becomes Rey Ordonez, how would people feel about that?
  24. Thank God Chelsea lost. I really did not want to have to watch them play bunkerball in the final
  25. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Apr 30, 2014 -> 03:14 PM) Cannot just give Detroit 2 wins which is basically what the Sox have done. 14 K's and no walks for Sox last night and Sox still lost. You very seldom see that. I saw someone post on twitter that was the first time in team history that happened QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 30, 2014 -> 03:17 PM) Noesi ended up allowing more runs that innings pitched...predictable. Sad thing is I'm sure they'll be stubborn and keep him on the roster. I don't really know how upset you can get. He pitched great the first 3 innings. He's not a starter and he was not stretched out. If this was a "bullpen game" he did his job and RV should have pulled him the first signs of trouble in the 4th. If anything, I think this was a positive outing from him. If he can pitch well for 1-3 innings at a time, that is a significant upgrade to our current s***show of a bullpen
