  1. I have to pick two RBs out of Jennings, Tate, Sproles, Rainey, Spiller in a PPR. And if it matters, we do get 1 point per 20 return yards. Thoughts?
  2. QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 12:53 PM) I need some advice with my myriad of mediocre options to fill out my lineup. I'm starting Antonio Brown, Eddie Lacy and Ben Tate. I need to pick 2 WR and a flex from the following... WR Michael Floyd vs ARI Anquan Boldin vs SEA Julian Edelman vs CLE Roddy White vs GB Dwayne Bowe vs WAS RB Ray Rice vs MIN Lamar Miller vs PIT Boldin is out unless I see a compelling reason to play him. I REALLY don't want to play either RB, but I see Ray Rice's name and still want to put him in. I'm leaning Floyd and White I think, but nothing is really set in stone. I'd go Floyd, Edelman and White if PPR. Might think about Miller if standard.
  3. QUOTE (balfanman @ Dec 5, 2013 -> 08:14 AM) Lets see if I am understanding this correctly. Under the current system teams bid to secure negotiating rights to a player. Under the proposed system several teams can bid 20 million to be in a "pool" to negotiate with said player. Under the proposed system wouldn't the Japanese league be better off? For example, under the current system one team wins the right to negotiate for a player. Lets say they get that right for 50 million. Under the proposed system, lets say that there are 4 teams interested in the player that pay 20 million each for the right. Wouldn't the Japanese league receive 80 million? When I went to school 80 was greater than 50. Is this the correct understanding, or am I not getting it? The teams not winning the posting bid would have their money returned to them.
  4. Has anyone else watched Hostages? I've loved that show so far.
  5. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 4, 2013 -> 05:50 PM) Thats a good thing for FSU, sounds like nothing happening. Apparently this prosecutor uses press conferences when no charges will be filed. He doesn't have a history of announcing charges without an arrest already made. Winston's attorney has scheduled a press conference for right afterwards. General feeling is nothing was found to warrant pushing this case forwards. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 4, 2013 -> 05:59 PM) If he was suspended what happens? They can beat Duke without a quarterback. Easily. But would voters vote them number 1 still? They should, as the defense is extraordinary and there a lot of other NFL prospects on offense, but I could see voters sliding them a little bit.
  6. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 4, 2013 -> 04:55 PM) Theyve only played one ranked opponent. I worded it poorly. They played three opponents that were ranked when they played them.
  7. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Dec 4, 2013 -> 04:40 PM) I've no problem with people who hunt deer and other animals like that and who will use the meat. I would definitely enjoy the camping, tracking and wilderness aspects, I enjoy target shooting, but I'd rather just shoot a picture of an actual animal. But I also enjoy the end-product, so I wouldn't judge there. Big game trophy hunters? Poachers? Should be legal to hunt them. This is basically how I feel about it 100%. Killing for use is one thing, killing for sport is barbaric.
  8. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Dec 4, 2013 -> 04:44 PM) Greg Doyel is kind of a troll, but I've been wondering this same thing : http://www.cbssports.com/general/writer/gr...buckeyes-do-not It's an easy answer if you've watched FSU play. Their strength of schedule has sucked this year. But they demolished all three ranked opponents they played. It honestly shouldn't even be a question. You want to criticize the schedule or strength of opponents? Fine. But that team is good. It's obvious to anyone who watched them. They are fast, skilled and probably boast at least 10 future NFL players, including 3 or 4 who will go in the first 2 rounds next year.
  9. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 03:31 PM) The unresolved story issues I agree with, but fan favorite doesnt mean anything, otherwise Herchel would still be around, lol. If I were the remaining group with Rick, I would seriously just go find another prison to take over. Am I missing something? Was Herschel really that much of a fan favorite? That's multiple people here who have said that and my girlfriend surprised me by saying that when he died too. I didn't really like him much at all, I actually found him to be kind of annoying. The "fan favorite" label is strange to me.
  10. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 11:07 AM) OK, the pots are pretty much what I thought they would be, except that they will randomly draw which European team goes into the Africa/SAmer pot instead of just putting the lowest ranked team (France) there. This ever so slightly is better for the US. Best case scenario would land Netherlands, Portugal or Italy in Pot 2 and then NOT be drawn into the US's group. Would weaken pot 4. Still probably we're drawn in the Group of Death though. Still holding out hope for Switzerland/Algeria/Greece though.
  11. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 3, 2013 -> 09:52 AM) I always thought they should just rank the teams 1-32 (with the host always being 1) and then snake the groups, so 9 goes in a group with 8, 10 with 7, and so on until you get all 32 teams in groups. Only swap teams as necessary to keep the confederation rules in place. The problem with that is that their ranking system is a bit odd. That'd still be a better option than the current.
  12. They should just put everyone into one single pot and allocate them from A-H as they come out. If Ecuador were to be drawn first they would go to B instead of A (since Brazil is in A) and the next team would go into A (if possible). That's much fairer then sticking multiple confederations in pots therefore immediately precluding them from the possibility of playing each other
  13. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 02:50 PM) i'm sure I am missing something here, but if they are illegal in the first place why did the state allow them to be registered? NYC and NY State have differing sets of regulations when it comes to guns
  14. QUOTE (lasttriptotulsa @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 02:41 PM) No matter how hard I try and no matter how many times I look at their stats, I simply cannot come up with a reason as to why people think Don Mattingly and Jack Morris are Hall of Famers. Because they're not
  15. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Nov 29, 2013 -> 04:37 PM) http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2013/11/r...cation-notices/ NYC is about to do what we were promised every time weve compromised on guns would never happen. Never register, never buy at a place that requires a background check. Here comes the round up. I mean, I'm a pretty big pro-gun supporter, but isn't it illegal to own them in NYC to begin with? (Hell, I don't even think you're allowed to travel through the city with one on your person). So rounding up something that is illegal to own to begin with kind of makes sense, no?
  16. QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Nov 26, 2013 -> 05:50 PM) Went to Cooperstown in 2012 but would definitely be up to make the trip again for The Big Hurt's induction (doesn't hurt to live 4 hours away). The hotels in Cooperstown were pretty expensive on a non-inductee weekend (although the town was overrun with little leaguers since there's apparently always a summer tourney going on there) so we stayed in Oneonta (~20 min away IIRC, and plenty of places to eat (great pizzerias) there since it's a college town). That's where I went to college. It's a great college town and you're right, it's only about 20 minutes from Cooperstown and much cheaper to stay. Living only a couple hours from Cooperstown, I go up there usually once or twice a summer, so I will absolutely be there if Frank gets elected. Also, just an FYI, if anyone does go up to Cooperstown, check out Ommegang Brewery. It's about 2 miles from downtown Cooperstown and they are a great Belgian-style brewery.
  17. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 1, 2013 -> 11:15 PM) Mid season finale of Walking Dead was excellent QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 1, 2013 -> 11:23 PM) Top 3 episode of the entire series. Sucks that my favorite character died though. I agree. I thought it was great. Apparently Herschel was my girlfriend's favorite character as well. I wasn't bothered by it and having read the comics I had predicted before that he wouldn't make it. I thought for sure Bob and Beth were going to die as well though.
  18. My WRs in one league were Josh Gordon and Alshon Jeffery. In my other other they were Josh Gordon and Eric Decker. Fantasy karma has finally come back around. I'm going to score the most points this week and win the weekly (easily, as I also had Big Ben, Charles, Tate and Jimmy Graham hasn't even played yet) and squeak into the playoffs since 2 of the 3 teams ahead of me by a game lost. I'm only the 8th seed but I'm going to finish with the 3rd highest points so anything can happen in the playoffs. In my last 3rd and last league, with friends from college, I am going to score most in the league 2nd straight week and finish 3rd in points but finish in 7th and 1 game out of the playoffs since one of the two teams ahead of me I needed to lose is going to win. Oh well, playoffs in 2 out of 3 isn't bad. Got burned badly with injuries (and benchings) all year long so I'll take this result and hope one of my playoff teams can get into the money rounds.
  19. I REALLY hope Josh Gordon comes back. He's sitting at 149 yards and my league awards a 5 point bonus at 150. I'm playing the guy with Cam so I really need it!
  20. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 1, 2013 -> 11:11 AM) I never understood the whole root for your conference thing. You hate a team for 364 days a year then suddenly are supposed to root for them? No thanks. As a UConn basketball fan, I used to root for the "lesser" Big East teams. But when it came to the rivals like Pitt, Cuse, GTown etc I always rooted for failure of epic proportions.
  21. QUOTE (zenryan @ Dec 1, 2013 -> 11:10 AM) well obviously I didnt realize Coker was injured... Coker is just a sophomore as well. Maybe you were thinking of Trickett? He already transferred to WVU this past off-season anyways though.
  22. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 1, 2013 -> 12:22 PM) So AP will break single game rushing record today right? Spent the $ on him in Fan Duel so hopefully But seriously, if he doesn't get hurt, this is one of those matchups the Vikings staff need to just try and exploit over and over. Keep the ball out of Ponder's hands as much as possible.
  23. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Dec 1, 2013 -> 12:01 PM) lol I lost 12 points in one of my leagues because Heath Miller can't stretch out the last 12 inches to get into the end zone! They never really reviewed it but I remember thinking he crossed during real time.
  24. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Nov 27, 2013 -> 11:21 PM) Jabari is a superstar. What Duke freshman have you ever seen that was better? It sucks having someone so fun to watch on a team that is so impossible to root for.
