  1. He better start hitting like last year though.
  2. Seconded.
  3. When did conservatives start b****ing about the media and making it their rallying cry?
  4. Like what? Tax cuts? Health care? Immigration? Dreamers? Travel ban? Supreme Court Justice appointments in an election year?
  5. Shitty game as Moncada is hurt and corpseball continues. I guess it’s a good tank win?
  6. Yeah I’m at the game and I turned and looked to my wife and he was on the ground. What the hell happened?
  7. Anyone know if there’s going to be a delay?
  8. No I don’t. It’s not going to happen.
  9. What would be considered bad centrist policies?
  10. I wouldn’t say that Trump or the GOP have solved this problem either, they just recognized this in their campaign and capitalized off of it. The jobs haven’t come back for the folks impacted by automation and outsourcing and they haven’t found new industries for folks to work in. It seems to me that the party who works on job retraining legislation, alternative energy jobs and investing on jobs in infrastructure will be the one who wins elections instead of what Trump is currently doing.
  11. True, but did they have a reason not to? I guess the margin was so slim between all of those who voted that he was going to get confirmed. Three democrats also voted for Gorsuch and would have had to vote Nay for Murkowski and Collins to have a shot at voting down Gorsuch. It seems unprobable that they’ll all vote against Trump’s nominee, but I guess it depends on the candidate he brings forth. We just better hope that there’s not another retirement or death before Trump leaves office or there will be a 6-3 conservative advantage, unless he gets a swing vote in there without knowing.
  12. Our attendance figures and make me wonder if they’ll ever move to another state, even though I bet it would still be better to stay in the Chicagoland area. The Sox should rebound with attendance if their rebuild puts them in contention year after year.
  13. Not necessarily, but it seems like I hear about more progressives than moderates. I guess it depends on the area of the country though as some candidates may do better in another area as moderates than progressives and vice versa.
  14. That is true on the tax cut, although Murkowski doesn’t want Roe v Wade overturned, voted against the ACA repeal, against DeVos’s nomination, against Trump’s immigration policies and the FCC’s net neutrality rules. She and Collins also voted against defunding planned parenthood, called on republicans to vote on Garland and has introduced an immigration solution. It’s a long shot, but we will see what happens. I’m just glad there are moderates like them to reject bad policy instead of voting along party lines all of the time. It’s too bad McCain probably can’t make it to vote against the nomination and buck Trump one more time.
  15. Murkowski and Collins? Not always.
  16. I’m surprised the DNC isn’t running more mainstream moderates, especially with the success in Alabama and Pennsylvania.
  17. You still think they wouldn’t try and screw Trump over?
  18. https://www.cnn.com/2018/07/01/politics/susan-collins-supreme-court/index.html If Collins and Murkowski opposed Trump’s Supreme Court nominee, they’d still have their seats until 2020 and 2022 respectively. Do you all think this is possible to happen, so that voters could decide what should happen with the Supreme Court nominee? I know that Trump selects the nominee but if the democrats win back the majority, is it possible to successfully block his nominee for some time?
  19. Hopefully Thomas Hardiman is the choice. I would also say Brett Kavanaugh, but he doesn’t appear to be a swing vote like his old boss was.
  20. Here you go: https://www.dnainfo.com/chicago/20160418/armour-square/whos-guy-yellow-mms-jacket-behind-home-plate-at-sox-games/
  21. I don’t agree that the gay couple or Sanders getting denied service, but if the gay couple lost in court and the baker won, I’m okay if Sanders doesn’t get served and the woman from DHS gets heckled at a Mexican restaurant. It’s the owner’s and customer’s freedom to do what they want.
  22. When I read this story, I thought of two words:
  23. So was it $716 billion for one year of military spending and not $80 something billion? Too bad a fraction of that can’t go to helping people with public education, at least at the community college level or through academic GPA set scholarships.
  24. I miss John Rooney, I always thought he was good and made Farmer better.
  25. Wouldn’t Harris and Sanders be better than Warren and Sanders? Or even someone other than Bernie as VP?
