Rainout Frustration
They should have just played a doubleheader tomorrow, the problem is finding the people to work then, day and night, that is.

White Sox vs. Devil Rays, 5/25/07 (W)
Lets hope that we get to Shields early, I don't want to see another loss for what we pay for our seats. Lets also hope we don't acquire this guy in the off-season and have KW say, "Cooper can fix this guy." If we do, I'll be all over SoxFest and asking him, "How many projects do we need to have, Kenny, for you to stop this insanity?"

Happy Birthday's all around!
Thanks for the Happy Birthday wishes, gentlemen. It's unfortunate that my favorite sports team can't win on my birthday, though. I thought sqwert was talking about me, lol. Not that it matters anyway.

I dont see it
I'm not sure that this team will place 4th. I mean, seeing the roster, we've got a lot of gambles on the bullpen, and our pitching staff isn't that much improved. With the hitters and the defense that we have, I think we'll be fine. But the pitching is my main concern because that separates the 1st place team from a 4th place team. ESPN the Magazine is full of s***. Although, I'd like to see A-Row come back to this team via trade, a la Jon Lieber as well?

Sox Make Moves
QUOTE(BearSox @ Mar 14, 2007 -> 06:08 PM) • C Cole Armstrong, RHP Lance Broadway, C Donny Lucy, LHP Corwin Malone, INF Junior Spivey and LHP Wes Whisler were reassigned to minor-league camp; • INF Andy Gonzalez, INF Pedro Lopez, LHP Heath Phillips, LHP Paulino Reynoso and INF Casey Rogowski were optioned to Class AAA Charlotte; • RHP Dewon Day, RHP Oneli Perez and LHP Carlos Vasquez were optioned to Class AA Birmingham bold = players that have MLB potential to actually make an impact. Why not Spivey? I wasn't sure about him but I was just curious of your reasoning of not bolding him.

2007 Fantasy Baseball Sign Up
1) What format you prefer playing (head to head or roto) Head to head 2) Your relative level of experience (experience is not required to play, I'd just rather not put beginners in the stronger leagues) I've played a couple years now. Not a beginner, though. 3) Your league preference (if you have played before) No preference, just an average competition 4) Whether or not you are willing to be a league commisioner (especially for people that have done it in the past and/or veteran players/posters) I'd gladly be commish, I check my email daily so I'd be good for it.

How did you get into the Sox?
My families blood bleeds of baseball. My sister starts on the Bradley University softball team, my other sister played softball, and my two brothers are on their high school team. I am an officially patched IHSA Umpire, so I can't get enough of baseball, we will sit in White Sox gear and follow every game as a family. But if you must know, in 4th grade, I was invited by a friend to go to a White Sox game, back in say...1997? And the Sox weren't that great, but weren't that bad, so I started to enjoy my time at the ballpark. 1999 is when I next made it out to the ballpark, though I watched the games on WGN and WFLD, and WCIU. Really, it was a time for my Dad and I to bond at the games and so we went to the second game at home, scored big on tickets, 3 rows behind the plate off a scalper. Since 2000, I've been hooked. Though I would have been a Sox fan regardless, I've always hated the Chicago Cubs.

World of Warcraft
Hey guys, lvl 53 Orc Rogue here. If anyone is ever on the Lightninghoof server, look Uthanak up, I'll likely be online. If anyone needs answers to questions, I'll gladly try, but it's my first character, so I can't help everyone. lol

McCarthy Traded to Texas
Am I wrong to believe that this could only mean us signing Mulder, Zito or Suppan? Just throwing it out there, I don't know what Kenny's intentions are after all of these trades he's made. Also raises up a few questions in my mind: What is Crede's situation this year? Will we talk to Tampa Bay about Bodelli or Crawford?

White Sox stats inquiry
Hey all. I'm a columnist/sports editor for the paper at my school and I'm to write about the downfall of the Chicago sports teams for 2006. I need to know a stat from our championship season that I cannot really find on any site. I need to know what our record was in one run ball games in 2005 (season). If anyone could help me and give a link to it, that'd be most helpful. Thanks, I appreciate it. -Ross

On a more serious note...
I just wanted to ask you all, how were we last year around this time? Starting to suck? I think so. Sox are still in it in my book, and I'm happy we're taking out the trash of this organization. =)

Sox get Mike MacDougal for Tyler Lumsden and Daniel Cortes
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jul 24, 2006 -> 11:57 PM) we gave up our best minor league arm. To be honest, I don't give a damn about our 'spects.

Sox get Mike MacDougal for Tyler Lumsden and Daniel Cortes
Quote of the year: "What year is this?" Williams asked. "Can't you win the 2008 championship in 2006?" I don't quite understand the Sandy Alomar trade just yet, but I love his aggressive move and trading away the prospects for MacDougal. This Iverson quote from many pages back made sense. Amen.

QUOTE(whitesoxin @ Jul 21, 2006 -> 10:27 PM) Wait, now people agree with me? Where are all the people who jumped all over me last time. Always happened before I stopped posting a lot this board. Maybe you should follow suit, then they can't do anything to you.

"Seasons Over" "Sox Are Done" "First Round &a
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jul 21, 2006 -> 09:59 PM) The handling of the pen is a mess. I still think the 'talent' or "garbage" (if you will) that we have is still a mess.

"Seasons Over" "Sox Are Done" "First Round &a
QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jul 21, 2006 -> 02:43 PM) Have you been watching this team this year? They have improved quite a bit from the Boone Logan days. I have been watching this team this year, and they are breaking my heart. I don't care if they've gotten any better from those days, or the Jeff Nelson days, the Pen is still a mess.

"Seasons Over" "Sox Are Done" "First Round &a
I saw this thread bumped and I was like, oh, not another stupid post. Then I thought, lately I've counted my team down but not out as well. I just, don't see the liveliness that I saw last year with this team. 2005 was something very special, and I know 2006 still can be. But what really needs to happen is someone needs to start pitching the ball and we need to get the clutch hits. I looked at the pitching matchups today and I saw ERA's over 5. And that Buehrle has 7 losses compared to 9 wins. I was very suprised to see this, and I have also been suprised lately of how no one seems to be playing as a team. Or how about our crappy bullpen, who needs to get a serious makeover before we go to the post season, that is, if we can get there. It will be very difficult to dethrone those Tigers, they look how we looked last year, and they still kicked the crap out of us in this series. Yes, they did, do not deny it. I just don't see the hard-nosed ball that I saw last year. Go Sox, don't make me feel helpless watching the game, lets see what you guys can do, START THE TURNAROUND TONIGHT!

Rude Red Shirt Employees at Sox Games?
All of the red shirted employees at the cell are a bunch of deuchebags. But the worst kind of people are the security guards, who are so strict with autographs or getting foul balls its not even funny. One time, this f*** head in the bullpen took the ball out of an elderly man's hands when he caught it and gave it to a kid. And the elderly man told him he'd give the kid the ball anyway. However, he was promptly ejected. In the 300 level, they used to let me up to the kids deck to get to my seat and now they won't let me up. I was courteous to the two women before they got all b****y at me, and was like "That must be new policy or something. Tell your boss that you guys are the two finest employees I've ever met. SARCASM!" f***ers, I hate most of those cell workers, though I'm friends with a few beer men.

Toughest Athlete?
I'm going to go with the great MJ, as I remember when he was feeling flu-like and sick and basically won a playoff game for the Bulls. Aaron Rowand. Aaron f***ing Rowand.

Ozuna
QUOTE(CubsSuck1 @ Jun 10, 2006 -> 11:26 PM) How about giving Pablo a shot in center field in a platoon? Being that Mackowiaks main role is to step in and provide some offense in Anderson's position, I think Ozuna could do just as well if not better. He is hitting .400 albeit in only 60 ABs. In addition, he has shown the ability to step it up in clutch, and seems in be involved in some game changing play when hes in the lineup. Add in hisa speed and you have an amazingly versatile player. Yes, defense could be an issue, but if Pablo is just platooned, and Anderson is occasionally used as a defensive replacement, I dont think the team would take a huge hit. At the very least, I think he provides a better option than mack, and deserves a shot at it. Pablo in centerfield? Are you on crack? There is no way that Ozzie would put him there. Besides, I think Anderson is starting to come around. Ozuna is one of those guys who is important off the bench, and maybe, if you'll platoon anyone, it'd be Uribe and Cintron. But not Ozuna in CF.
