  1. QUOTE(The Critic @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 12:09 PM) And expect an announcement from the Loop very soon about Brandmeier. He could be back on the air by early November. If you're serious, I'm kissing you the next time we hook up! LOL!!! How have you heard this?
  2. ...good Lord...they even do Skrewdriver covers!!! No doubt about it, they have been brainwashed by their parents. No kid in this world would get into Skrewdriver without Mom or Dad forcing that band on them. :headshake
  3. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:29 AM) How did they differentiate between that exact ball? They would have to know which one was in play for that pitch. I'm sure they know about where it landed, enough people in the area would point out the person, and I am sure the balls are all "Official World Series" labeled balls that you can't buy at your local K-Mart.
  4. QUOTE(Kalapse @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 11:07 AM) He enjoyed the fire water. Bah...who doesn't??? Hmmm, Bobby seems like a trip! Now I am pulling for him even more. It'd be nice to see the kid turn everything around and become a brilliant pitcher.
  5. Yeah, I've heard brief mention of Bobby's "problems". What's the deal with him, how exactly is he a "lunatic"?
  6. QUOTE(GoSox05 @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 10:50 AM) you know i think bernie mac lives in frankfort and im pretty sure he grew up on the southside. i like dahl, but i bet he used his celebrity status to get tickets. But Dahl has always been a vocal Sox fan. He probably doesn't go to too many games though, due to what time his show is on the air. But I also wouldn't be surprised if he has season tix. He has never switched, and he is not shy about his disliking of the Cubs and their station.
  7. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 10:49 AM) He can't sit with the rest of the family. I love that family! That's a true baseball family. They understand that blood is thicker than water, but pine tar and chew is thicker than blood. That's not a true baseball family! They switched allegiance. The guy NOT switching is the true fan, IMO. He stuck to his guns, while the rest went with the money and tickets.
  8. I'd want to know if Paulie or Pods wanted the ball back. If they did, I would trade them for a signed bat. I wouldn't sell either thing though to anybody. I'm a sentimental nut who loves collectibles for the collectibility, not the value. But first offer is to the guys that gave it to me originally.
  9. So there is one stand-up guy in the whole family? Nice. Somebody get that guy a seat next to JR!!!
  10. I didn't see any arguing going on anywhere. But if there was, ummmm, there is a little bit at stake over these next few games. As for Iguchi being picked off, well, it was Pettitte on the mound...duh. I told my wife before the game started one of our guys would get picked off, and as soon as Iguchi got on, I told her he would be picked off. He has never seen Pettitte before and no amount of scouting can prepare you for that, what do you expect?
  11. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 09:23 AM) I missed the magic with Meier. Those were some great shows in the late 70s. They were great shows up until Meier went wacky and left in the early 90's. The Loop was once the best form on entertainment. I miss Johnny B. so damn much it isn't funny. If he were to come back, with Buzz...man, I would be THRILLED!
  12. QUOTE(Soxfest @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 07:47 AM) All these so called experts keep saying how Houston hitting with the short porch in leftfield will have the advantage, I guess when White Sox bat along with a retractable roof they must have a retractable leftfield wall, the short porch to me plays into Sox hands for guys like Rowand, Iguchi, Crede to name a few. 2 more wins How often do you see Konerko "just miss one" to left? I bet he will have HUGE numbers these games.
  13. QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 07:10 AM) And then we line up like little puppies when one of these talking heads picks the Sox and anointing them as genius. We fawn over Ryan Sandburg picking the Sox. Wow THE Sandburg. And of course when someone finally has seen enough to change their opinion, we complain they are bandwagon jumpers. There were/are some good reasons to not pick the Sox, especially at the start of the season. No team is perfect, remember, the Sox did lose one game to the Angels. Hell, I'd be much happier if nobody picked the Sox. I don't like all the attention, to be honest. Plus, the "favorites" never win. As for the media hating the Sox...eh...who knows? I sometimes think we read too much into what is said about our team. I am familiar with the East Coast bias, but it is justified. I know people in the UK and outside of the US. It's funny, they are all Yankees fans. Do ya think continual success has something to do with it? Heck, and everybody in Baseball LOVES Biggio and Bagwell, so why wouldn't people be pulling for them? Two guys, both superstars, one of whom has stayed with the same team his whole career and you can't write a dang thing negative about him? As Sox fans, there is a wonderful story there. If we hadn't had these funky umpire calls, I am guessing we would have all the attention and love right now.
  14. QUOTE(Mercy! @ Oct 24, 2005 -> 03:02 AM) I nominate this for the first post for Nuke's White People Behaving Badly thread. Plus please add the photo of the white boys pushing the flaming garbage dumpster down the street. *sigh* I get so embarassed at that "segment" of MY community. Don't you? Eh, they're in such the minority now days, and becoming more so as time travels on. I can look at this, shake my head, and move on. I drove past a KKK gathering in Rockford a few years ago. There were MAYBE 20 people there in support. I'm sure 2 Russian kids playing Russian Folk music aren't going to change the world. Heck, look at all of the "Racial Bands" they list, how many of those bands have actually done much? Probably the biggest on that list is Skrewdriver, and I lay money on it 95% of this board has no idea about them at all.
  15. QUOTE(bschmaranz @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 11:05 AM) You wouldn't add Timo to that list of folks you'd be okay with losing? LOL!!! Yeah, I forgot about him! LOL! Yes, he can go.
  16. Aside from Marte and Viz, I really can't think of anybody on this team I would be O.K. with losing. The only guy who doesn't seem to be living it up, and actually "buddying up" with the team is Dye, but I think that is just his personality. I, personally, want to see this team together for atleast 1 more year.
  17. I'm confused, with Game 1 being in the bag...and Game 2 tonight...why on earth is ANYBODY involved with the Sox in ANY way shape or form even thinking about trades and moves??? Isn't that something that shouldn't even exist in any of our minds right now?
  18. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 10:09 AM) They showed her right after the National Anthem. Lou Rawls is singing the anthem tonight. Heh...not 100% sure of what she looks like. Surely I would have noticed somebody that was 1/2 bee though. Cool, Lou tonight! That one will be great!!! Hopefully this rain goes away. Thought they said last night that Pettite has voiced concerns over the weather. What a "gamer"!!!
  19. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 09:41 AM) It was definitely Steff. Where was Steff? Liz Phair was terrible. She sounded scared out of her skull. That Josh Grobin guy was also quite dull. He was in tune, but he turned the song unrecognizable. I thought Lou Rawls was suppoesed to do something? Is he tonight?
  20. QUOTE(kman @ Oct 23, 2005 -> 04:23 AM) WOW, I hate facts like these. Reminds me of a dumb one on sportscenter a while back.Went along the lines of this, the bengals are the first team to score 3 or more points in games under 40 degrees in 4 straight game in the firstquarter. These little facts/records pizz me off OK?No offense to you. And I thought I had wacky pet-peeves. LOL!!! This is typical Baseball "factoid" stuff. I always took it that we as baseball fans just loved these silly little stats.
  21. What's "College Football"? Is it some other sporting type of thing going on right now???
  22. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Oct 22, 2005 -> 09:18 PM) EAT s*** ASS STROKES!!!!! YOUR BEST PITCHER CANT STOP US!!!!! YOU'RE HITTERS ARE POWERLESS AGAINST OUR PITCHING. WE f***ING OWN YOU!!!!! THIS IS OUR YEAR!!!!!!!!!!! GIMMIE A HELL YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Isn't their best pitcher right now pretty much Oswalt??? He's the one I fear. But besides that, what a RUSH!!! Cotts, Jenks, Crede =
  23. I've heard that, what's the story? I guess Ozzie and JR are also not too fond of Garner.
  24. I know he is, but can we all PLEASE stop calling Clemens "Future Hall Of Famer Roger Clemens"??? I am soooooo sick of that. It's not as annoying as many other nicknames, but it's so damn lengthy and just annoying to hear. Wow, I hope P-Ko, J-Con, J-Cred and Possible Future Hall Of Famer But Injured Right Now F-Thom have fun over this week.
