Dylan's been straight-up honest for 40 years now. If he is now deciding to to do a little bit of "selling out", then more power to him. He's already proven himself and his worth, and he might see this a bit of a "fun" thing to do. Heck, he might just LOVE Starbucks coffee and thought it would be cool to do something with them. Is it really selling out if you are doing something in conjunction with something you love?

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 04:21 PM) Soxy.. did you pick up his solo effort..? He needs work, but it was a good start. The funny thing is that Matchbox was basically all Thomas, especially on the last one. I get a kick out of an artist going solo when they are actually the band to begin with. I can't comment on the "yummy" aspect of Thomas with you ladies, but I can say that my wife fully agrees with you.

There were some VMA's on last night???

QUOTE(Steff @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 02:06 PM) I like him... I know...and that is why I hated mentioning him. I know some people here know these people personally, and it is a shame to see friends getting bashed. I always got the feeling Albert was a nice guy off the field and away from the fame. Maybe one of those guys that played for the love of the game, but hated the fame that went with it.

As I eluded to, how much love is there for Albert Belle? I actually liked Albert, and found his attitude pretty dang funny.
-
Kind of strange...there seems to be some Crede love around these parts lately.
-
I kind of liked Caruso, and I always wish he would do better. Looks wise, he was such a throw back to old baseball.

QUOTE(winodj @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 01:43 PM) Its not a kids movie. It's a Terry Gilliam movie where story is sacrificed for visuals. Like every Terry Gilliam movie, visuals come first. Which are - quite stunning at times. Now, now...Monty Python And The Holy Grail was Gilliam...and that was friggin' brilliance on all levels.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 01:53 PM) Lucky bastard... See, I was thinking the opposite. 50,000 was a slow weekend for me in my younger days.

Just seems a little malicious. Maybe "most disliked" or whatever...but "Hated" is just a brutal way of talking about somebody who plays for a team we all cheer for. I can't say I have "hated" any of the players, but there were some who drive me friggin' crazy. Honestly, I have a hard time watching WidgerTV nowdays.

Not a very nice topic. I think it is obvious from an all around baseball perspective. We had one guy who was almost as beloved by the media as Bonds is.

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 12:58 PM) R&B is more sissy stuff like love ballads. Watch it man. Are you talking modern R&B, then yes. But older R&B has some great stuff. Rap is void of singing, R&B is mostly singing, and was ALL singing until Rap was born. R&B gets all it's sides from Blues, Soul, Gospel, and a dash of Pop.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Aug 29, 2005 -> 06:39 AM) Not sure which band you were referring to. TBJM has had a lot of member changes and taken a few breaks. The Crowes have also had a few member changes and broke up for like 4 years. But they're BACK baby. I'm sure Kid Gleason is ecstatic. Hey man, I got nothing really against the Crowes. If they were to become the biggest band in history I would be cool with that. I just prefer their roots to what they have done with them, that's all. But I would NEVER in a million years fault anybody for liking a straight up RnR band, and I would NEVER in a million years hope for anything bad to happen to a band that could maybe bring REAL RnR back onto the airwaves. I just wish more of their fans would pay attention to the past bands that influenced them.

QUOTE(White Sox Josh @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 08:08 PM) not true for all rappers. Listen to OutKast, Public Enemy, LL Cool J, and others. Actually Gangsta Rap was originally designed to bring awarness to all the bad things that were happening in the Ghetto. Ghetto Boys were about bringing awareness to something??? Man...don't know what to say about that.

Sad thing is that all of these bulls will be dead soon due to the run is to lead to the bull fighting, right? I think to make the bull fight fair, the bull fighter should be allowed to ONLY use his fists.

QUOTE(SoxPhan7 @ Aug 28, 2005 -> 04:50 PM) I still think it is him. Imagine that guy just 20-25 years older. It's not him, but our Aflac man has quite a resume: http://imdb.com/name/nm0377106/

Mostly Norwegian, with a dash of Swedish and German.

Okay there was Ronald, The Grimace, The Hamburgler

Wendy's had the BEST mascot, but he passed away just a few years ago. BK though does rule over all of the fast food junk. -

Oh man...I think I know where this one is going. But sequels are rarely as good as the originals. -
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Really??? This isn't part of the "College experience"??? I love comments like that. It's kind of like a certain club tragedy when all the cops and people came out afterwards saying crap like "Ya know... you go out to a concert, you don't expect to end up dead"! DUH!

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 11:11 AM) Ach, he was sort of a childhood hero of mine, actually. When I found out the guy who directed Flipper (loved that show as a kid, go figure) had ALSO starred as the badazz from the Black Lagoon he was immediately elevated to hero status. [/The Geek Walks Among Us in 3-D] Was your stalking him part of the reason for your move to Florida?

QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 10:59 AM) They make spam blockers for emails like that... Yeah, but then they spell crap like "N1ger1an P3nis Enlarg3m3nt" and it gets passed it.

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 10:54 AM) Ricou Browning? Actually, aside from the Gill Man battles as to who was the REAL Gill Man, Ricou does seem great, and is great in interviews. So sure, I am a Browning fan. Show off.

Invasion Of The Body Snatchers is one of the greatest films ever! I might need to find some of those plants just for fun!

QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Aug 26, 2005 -> 10:41 AM) Aha! I think we've uncovered the root of both the aversion to seafood AND the love of Big Monster flicks... Yeah, tales of terror from the sea REALLY creep me out. I also enjoy William Hope Hodgson for these reasons. p.s. might also explain my crazy love for that guy in my avatar.
