Wow that screenshot of Frank looks like hell, like his face is melting away and the jersey isnt even right. I never really liked the all star baseball games, at least for ps2, the graphics have really sucked, the pitching interface is lame and unoriginal and the batting odd feeling and nearly impossible, though all the special features or whatever are kind of cool, like hof players and all. I wont get this game. Im looking forward to this years version of MVP, last years game had great graphics and a really cool way to pitch, hopefully theyll fix the franchise mode so i cant get a team that can win 155 games when simulating the season.

This might be nitpicking, but don't kid yourself about the Schaumburg Flyers, aside from maybe opening day, attendance there is nothing to write home about. The Cougars on the other hand do have decent attendance numbers. You have a point there though, if the Sox instead of raising ticket prices every year lowered them to increase attendance (ie half price nights) profits may be comparable but public image would improve because people want to go to a packed house like its a party (ie wrigley field) despite what the team is doing. One problem with this idea though is ive heard that the Sox lease on the Cell has an attendance clause in it, meaning if attendance is a certain level they have to pay more..... though this is just what ive heard, im not positive about this

yea i didnt see many usc fans at all over at the orange bowl last year, especially during the tailgate. it looked like iowa fans bought twice as many tickets as usc fans did.

I can guarantee you that UNC will NOT finish in the top 15 with the lack of depth they have, plus its Roy Williams first year there, next year on the other hand, im thinking final four for them. As for the Big Ten, they are a football conference right now, great football, best in the country, decent major physical basketball, just not amazing like the ACC or Big East, though both those conferences are crap in football. I could see some teams coming up as a surprise for the Big Ten this year though, possibly Iowa (yea im biased) if they limit their turnovers and Pierre Pierce plays well, and Purdue, who looks real good and beat Duke a week ago.

I used to watch it back in the Hulk Hogan/Ultimate Warrior days until maybe 10 years ago. I used to love it back in the day, all the wrestlers were great and they all were pretty much real cheesy charactures on steroids. They had some great names for some of these guys, ie Razor Ramon, Hacksaw Jim Duggins, Jake "The Snake", honestly why would anyone ever make a character whos claim to fame is that he carries a 2 by 4 around with him. On another note what ever happened to Razor Ramon?

Reading that makes me sick, the only player predicted going to the Sox is Fernando Vina who they rank around 35th meanwhile the Cubs Yankees and Dodgers are predicted to pick up a major part of the top 20 free agents. This s*** pisses me off. Its gonna be a real bad day for me the day the Cubs get Pudge and we get to keep Jose Valentin and maybe even sign Fernando Vina. :fyou

Hopefully as this goes through the National media, at least Wirtz's kids will take notice that they don't do the same stupid things when they take over. Actually what ive heard is that Wirtz's kids are as bad as he is. I was talking to a friend of the family who had dinner with Wirtz and his son for some business reason, and he was telling me that the son he had dinner with was pretty much the same evil cold hearted businessman his father is. On a brighter note, I have a friend in college who when he goes home he occasionally eggs $ Bill's house. I told him he was my hero.

Good deal, im kind of glad frank is staying, even if he isnt the player he once was he is still a huge threat in the lineup and a scary guy to pitch to. 6 Million really isnt so bad for a guy like Frank, im just glad it didnt come to the sox paying him 8 million to stay. If im not mistaken KW still has plenty of money left over to spend on FAs to make up for losing Colon and the middle infield. Hey and think on the bright side, at least we didnt have to keep the most overpayed pos in baseball, Jose Valentin, like we had to keep frank.

How is that game? I saw it at a store and I was thinking of picking it up but i havent heard anything about it from anyone.

Well i hate to admit it but in the last two years i have noticed Iowa has completely turned into a football school. I havent heard anyone at classes or bars or around campus even mention the upcoming basketball season, yet football is talked about constantly. If im not mistaken attendance was down last year for basketball while this year attendance is at an all time high for football.

I have seen it hundreds of times and i still get chills when the kid is riding his big wheels down the hotel hallways. Though if i gotta put something else down id say the silent hill video games, theyre practically movies and they put me in cold sweats.

I wouldnt mind seeing Soriano in a Sox uniform, they could definately use his speed on the basepaths, and even if his fielding is shodder he cant be too much worse than Ray Durham or Jose Valentin. Plus he still has more potential to live up to, this kid may become a lot better than we know him to be now.

Speaking of, think we have any chance of making a run for a fa closer to replace Gordon, or are we gonna give William Koch another chance?

i agree with you completely, Alford sucks, he hasnt even had a winning Big Ten record since taking over the program. And then the whole Pierre Pierce thing just pisses me off. There is no reason he should keep his scholarship after doing what he allegedly did. Everytime i see walking around campus all cocky, which is somewhat frequently, it upsets me. Because of all of this i have cancelled my season basketball tickets i have had the last few years ive been here. Although i like neither one of them, especially not Pierce, though he is a very talented player, i will still cheer for the Hawkeyes. Their team might be pretty good this year, and hopefully Alford will help me change my opinion of him and have a good year.

Please dont ever mention that again, that still hurts to think about. I outright stopped watching baseball because i was so convinced the Cubs would be in the world series, it upsetted me quite a bit but with the whole Bartman think i couldnt be happier to have something to rub in all my friends faces for years to come.

Personally i hate the reply system. Ruins the pace of the game, and it always seems like every game there has to be at least two replays. Though i am a college football fan and not an NFL fan, so i am kind of biased.

They better bring him back, in my opinion he is the #1 utility man in the league. Total stud as long as he doesnt play every day and can play pretty much every position if he was asked to.

And he got cut from the Schaumburg Flyers the begining of this summer! The flyers are so bad I and everyone on this message board could play for them, but Ted Williams son gets cut.

Yep no sight of all the cubs fans at the U of Iowa today, though a few cardinal and sox fans finally came out of hibernation.
