  1. I could never play those old Genesis sports games aside from NBA Jam and NHL, like theyre too hard to play and look like garbage. Its pretty amazing how far they have come since those days, every ps2 ea sports game now is near perfect and fun as hell to play.
  2. Theyll make the playoffs with a record around .500, since the East is so weak.
  3. Yea that 6 weeks of rest just killed all of Iowas momentum they had going for them, the wait seemed like forever after the final game of the season against minnesota. But you have to admit that USC last year was amazing at least towards the end of the season. NIU is good, but theyll probably end up in an unimportant bowl taking the spot of some major conference who couldnt field enough bowl eligible teams.
  4. Its hard to score when youre playing such conservative hockey, that is playing everyone back, like the blackhawks play. But i dont really blame the coaching staff for that because it is the slow s***ty defensemens fault. The Blackhawks could probably have a decent scoring team if they didnt have the puck on their side of the rink 75 percent of the time.
  5. Have you E-Lo people coordinated a strikeout dance routine yet, because the padilla flotilla is nothing without their paddling dance.
  6. Do you really think they wouldnt pay for a shortstop like Cabrera? The White Sox are already paying WAY to much money to the Jose Valentine, who is a piece of s***. Correct me if im wrong here but isnt Cabrera worth around what we are supposed to pay Jose next year, that is in the 4-6 million ballpark. By the way we wouldnt have this problem on shortstop if the white sox drafted and developed players better, it seems like every year we use our high draft picks on some corner outfielder who they say can play center field who doesnt pan out.
  7. "I call this one 'Lick my Love Pump" Easily my all time favorite movie
  8. Its good to see someone in the media didnt forget we existed.
  9. I think i would agree with you there, though I dont think i would want Cesar Izsturas, it doesnt look like that guy is any good. Maggs is not worth the money he is payed, i would only justify paying that much money to a truly dominant player and leader such as Bonds. I think that if Maggs was traded that would free up money to keep a solid core of players like Carlos Lee and Frank Thomas, and keep the pitching rotation intact like signing Buerle to a contract extension, keeping Colon (if not Colon then another FA pitcher). Plus the Sox farm system could use a few more prospects, especially in the middle infield.
  10. If I'm not mistaken they even blackout most of the ESPN and ABC games also, I had to go to a bar to watch a playoff game that was supposed to be on ABC a couple years back. Because of the whole tv thing and the all around bad ownership that reason i refuse to go to any Blackhawks games. Bill Wirtz is such a bad owner he makes Reinsdorf look good.
  11. I'm just against buying another video game system (one that you have to pay extra to use for dvds which is total bulls***)
  12. Great game, bad call, the NFL needs to define the launching rule a lot more clearly, because it was clear he was not launching off of his teammate in the air.
  13. oh god, Nick Smith really hurts to watch. He looks so scared and awkward like he doesnt want to be out there whenever he plays. Probably weighs about 120 lbs too. I have a feeling the Illini will have a transition year this year, basically meaning probably a low seed NCAA birth maybe 5 or 6th in the big ten. Its real hard for a new coach to come in and implement his new program to a bunch of the old coaches players. From what it looks like i dont really see a dominant Big Ten basketball team, maybe Wisconsin or Indiana might win this year, or even Iowa (crossing my fingers)
  14. What did the article in Espn magazine say about us? Im really curious. I was under the impression the Soxtalk.com community was a fairly small one, thats kind of cool but very unexpected they mentioned us.
  15. Already got it for the ps2, but thats one hell of a deal, great games. I wish they sold both of those games together back when i bought them around Christmas for the last two years.
  16. I would rather have the Twins win the world series than the Cubs win one postseason game. At least if the Twins win you dont have to hear about it from every bandwagon Cubs fan in the greater Chicagoland area when you decide to wear a Sox hate.
  17. Horrible array of umping mistakes gave the Braves a break, maybe the Cubs karma could be catching up to them now. Hopefully there will be some kind of heartbreaking moment for the Cubs, because if they win this series i might have to move to Europe or something to get away from their legions of fans.
  18. I agree, its a shame the Sox didnt get to have the chance. They played pretty well against the Yankees this season and shouldve swept the series if Manuel wasnt a terrible manager. Everyone, including Twins fans i know knew that the Twins did not stand a chance against the Yankees.
  19. Don't get me wrong though Soxheads, being a Hawkeye my hate for Cyclone teams is only surpassed by my feelings about the cubs. As for best college Basketball team this year, though im not really a college basketball expert I have a feeling that Kentucky will be up to something big this year.
  20. Carlos Lees extra inning slam against the Cubs
  21. College Football Saturday, no question about it. More games on more channels and usually at least one huge upset to watch a week.
  22. I used to hate Eustaciey, but how could you hate a guy who goes to college parties and drinks Natty Ice and hits on pudgey 19 year old girls. I wish he was still their coach.
  23. Actually Bobby Sanders was back this week, putting a few of his tradmark huge hits on Michigan.
  24. I was at that game today, it was one hell of a game and the crowd was pretty wild, at least for the second half, when the hawkeyes were playing well. I thought both teams looked fairly impressive, though i dont know what anyone on tv was saying about them. The Hawkeyes are pretty decently talented and very well coached. Iowas defense is very solid especially in stopping the run. Their offense on the other hand is not so great, but looks like they can do what they need to keep themselves in most games. I think Nathan Chandler is not a very good QB, and im pretty sure most every student at iowa would probably agree and have been calling for his head since the start of the season, but he doesnt really have anyone to throw to, both of the starting WRs are injured. Fred Russel is one of the better Big Ten running backs and probably the most important piece of their offense. I honestly think that the Hawkeyes do have a chance against Ohio State in two weeks. Ohio State is bound to lose and seems very overrated. Plus Iowas best reciever Mo Brown is supposed to be back for the Ohio State game hopefully giving the offense the spark they need for this next game. Speaking of, what the hell was that punt formation Michigan used. Me and the guys i was with were trying to figure out what they were trying to do. Maybe it was an option punt (which i didnt even know existed) or something? But it was definately asking to be blocked.
