  1. Mena starting for Charlotte tonight ?
  2. Gonna need Quero back in the lineup tonight for my mental health and wellbeing.
  3. So the Barons 6 man rotation is cut down to 4...does someone from WS get promoted? Carela is R5 this year, so maybe they want to push him a bit? Last start was pretty unfortunate, but he's got over 100 innings at A+ this season (3.62ERA, 10.7 K/9). Adams has only made 3 starts in Winston, but they've been stellar and he's older... Or I guess they can just slot Schoenle or someone back in, but that would be less fun.
  4. Barons a slam away from the HR cycle. Popeye solo, Colson 2R, Elko 3R. The latter gets them the lead.
  5. I'm really not worried about Eder long term.
  6. Keener headed to Kanny. The 3rd round pick threw 6IP over 4 appearances in ACL, 2H, 1ER, 2BB, 7K.
  7. Still has faced the minimum, thanks to the DP. Might be done now though, I can't remember him ever going deeper than 80-85 pitches.
  8. Leasure got the save for Charlotte in Game 2. 1-2-3 inning with 1K. My guy Mason Adams is carving 'em up for WS. 8K through 5 spotless innings.
  9. Need Jeff to grab a shot of Wolkow and Nishida next to each other.
  10. Thrilled for Mena, though I do sometimes wish our top arms could be spared the pitcher's nightmare that is Truist Field.
  11. Colson with a nice snag and tag on a wide throw from Quero for an inning ending CS.
  12. 2 out triple for Nishida, 8 pitch Gonzo walk. He takes 2nd on a WP, and Harris knocks them both in with a bloop to CF.
  13. McDougal out after hitting his pitch count. 4.2IP, 2 "ER", 4H, 4K, 1BB. The first run followed a throwing error that let a base stealer advance to third. He scored on a single. The second was scored after he was pulled. Reliever gave up a HR allowing his inherited runner on 1B to score.
  14. Chappy 2 run HR gives WS a 2-1 lead.
  15. If this is true, it's malpractice.
  16. Kannapolis gets walked off again. With the recent promotions/injuries, they can't find the offense to put teams away early and don't have the arms to hold small leads late.
  17. Quero with the day off. He's only caught Cannon once during his time as a Baron so far (although fun fact, he caught him at the Futures game before the trade).
  18. Thought that might happen, with the ACL season ending. Will be nice to get to see him in action.
  19. Some questionable umpiring in the Barons game. Ramos made what appeared to be an inning ending DP, catching a bases loaded liner and then tagging the bag for the force. Ump calls no catch, so a run scores and the inning continues. Bundy ejected. Noted pickoff expert Gil Luna comes on in relief and ends the inning without making a pitch, catching the runner off first.
  20. Kannapolis gets walked off for the second day in a row. Another nice start from Batista (5IP, 1ER, 2BB, 3K). He's been very solid, with just 4ER across his 3 starts (15IP) so far. UDFA Connery Peters made his affiliate debut and threw two scoreless (1H, 2K). RHRP Connor Pellerin got the first half of a two inning save attempt in a scoreless 8th, but gave up a walk and HR in the 9th. The Knights emulate the big league club and win a walkoff in 10, 4-3. Recently acquired José Ureña made his second start, and put up a respectable line: 5.2IP, 2ER, 6H, 6K, no walks. Deivi Garcia had a scoreless inning. Leasure got 2Ks in his inning, but gave up a Charlotte solo shot. Cronin went 2IP hitless/scoreless, including stranding the free runner in the 10th to get the W. Hackenberg got the walkoff hit. Xavier Fernandez nudged his OPS over 1.000 with a 2B and 2 walks.
  21. Nastrini gave up a run on a pair of doubles in the 5th, the first real contact against him. The other two hits were a lucky bloop and Castillo getting his feet tangled on a routine grounder to second but it not being ruled an error. Quero gets the lead back with a homer against his old team, scoring Veras who walked.
