  1. Colson with his first HR of the season.
  2. And if he swung anticipating the bad zone from the ump, he'd get clowned on for chasing. The previous AB was terrible, but that was a lose-lose pitch.
  3. I imagine (and hope) Colas will be up soon, but I was also okay with him being down for a while because 1. there was stuff he needed to work on, and AAA gave him the space to do it and 2. being called a bust for not immediately producing in an environment where an underperforming lineup didn't give him space to work on those things would likely have hurt his confidence and development.
  4. Elvis was hot vs. his former squad last year, hitting 2 HR in the series. If he does the same this time, it would be career #99 and 100. Rooting for him.
  5. Just my opinion, but he seems to have really improved his approach, in a way where you could almost track what was being worked on based on the results. He went from a ton of contact but not much power into a few weeks where you could really tell he was working on selectivity and taking/walking more. Now he seems to be converting that selectivity into looking for his pitches to drive (to flashy 8-game hit streak, 6HR in 5 games results) in a way that I think is more sustainable. I do think he's legitimately putting something together and not just falling back on his natural power, and everyone involved with his recent development seems to say that he's been very receptive to the adjustments. But I'm personally quite high on him, so I could be biased.
  6. Weird. I assumed Haseley was up so that LRJ could catch a breather at some point before the break.
  7. Nice to see the offense carry a couple wins for once, but you just know Cease has to be wondering where the hell this was a couple days ago.
  8. Based on the calls to Remi and TA, it would have just been a strikeout looking instead of swinging. Not a ton you can do if the ump is giving him those pitches.
  9. Well...he didn't let Trout and Ohtani beat him, at least?
  10. During the game I mentioned that LRJ's homer reminded me of one he hit last year to about the same spot. I took a look at the box score for that game exactly a year ago, and it's actually uncanny. Other similarities between these two games besides the twin HRs: The White Sox win in Anaheim on June 28th, scoring 11 runs on 17 hits and 4 walks. Barria and Loup pitched for the Angels. Multi-hit, multi-RBI game for Seby. 3 hits for the Sox starting 1B. Sox 2 hitter went 0-5 with a BB and run scored. The Sox SP gave up two solo shots in a 3 batter span. Only one GIDP in the game, both hit into by TA. I could go on, but once I noticed the first thing, I started to worry that I entered some kind of time loop ?
  11. Not sure I thought it was possible to not give up runs in Charlotte over that much time, honestly.
  12. Funnily enough, he's tied with the LRJ homer for the hardest hit ball of the game, 109.6mph .680 xBA liner that found a glove.
  13. I don't like the team or the player, but German is 3 outs away vs. Oakland.
  14. People think Seby catches Gio to improve the pitching performance, but in reality he catches Gio to improve his own performance ? His 2 HR game in NY was with Gio on the bump, too. He just likes showing support for his best friend.
  15. Yankees got something cooking through 6 in Oakland, FYI
  16. Bham showed out on offense tonight, winning 17-4. Some notables: Mieses: 6-6, 3HR, 2B Tatum: 2-4, BB, SB Ramos: 2-5, BB Hackenberg: 3-4, 3R
