Yeah, they are down a starter with Keller going to the IL since we saw him in the last series.

After bottoming out in April, the pen had been top 10 in May coming into today. Of course, playing an AL Central gauntlet instead of 10 straight against the Rays/Jays doesn't hurt.

Clase blows the save in NY, giving up 3 runs bottom 10 as Mets walk it off. It's his 5th blown save this year, more than all of last season IIRC.

Feels like Kopech's best starts are always on extra rest. The gems against NY and LA last year come to mind.

He pulls it off! Connor McCollough with a (7 inning) no hitter in game 1 of the double header. Brings his season ERA down to 1.67.

McCullough continues to look good. 3 perfect innings on 32 pitches, 3K. Kanny offense piling it on in the third, maybe thanks in part to some potentially questionable calls at the plate. McCullough walked one in the 4th, but is doing a thing through 6....72 pitches.

Someone's going to be left out though. Hendriks, Crochet, Kelly, Graveman, Santos, Middleton, Reylo, Bummer, and Lambo makes 9.

Gusty outing from Reylo. I'll take the blame for the Fry single to start the inning, since it happened right after I mentioned that Cleveland catchers had no hits this month...

The Cleveland broadcasters yesterday spend a bit opining about how bad of a signing our .800 OPS catcher is. Meanwhile, their FA catcher has 46 strikeouts in 85 ABs while also being the worst blocker in the league. Cleveland hasn't gotten a hit from a catcher since April 29.

Gordon and Gallo both left the game after fouling balls off themselves.

This exact scenario is why I don't mind Burger behind Yaz too much. Yaz gets on base at a good enough clip, but it's nice to have power behind him to keep him from clogging up traffic.

I mean that's nice and all, but I once saw him grimace slightly after running the bases, so I'm pretty sure he's a bust.
