  1. Houston's only win so far is that no hitter. In other words, they have lost 100% of games when they allow a hit. On the bright side, they are maybe the only team in baseball that could maintain that for a season and still have a shot at multiple wins.
  2. Should be fun to watch Skubal, Ragans, and known ace Crochet battle it out as top lefties for their teams. Twins and Guards are late to the party.
  3. Grossman hit 2 HR including a slam. Montgomery 1-3 with a BB and run scored. Colas, Stassi, DeLoach, Perez all 1-4 with singles. Hack 0-4 with 4K.
  4. Cool, fine, I'm not arguing that. I'm just pointing out that having a guy whose job is to coach first base and OF isn't an organizational failing. You can be mad about him being lost in the dugout without manufacturing outrage about the fact that his job just, like, exists.
  5. It is trivial to Google "first base and outfield coach" and find that it is one of the most common combination of coaching responsibilities out there. And yes, that is how Bourgeois role was described when he was hired.
  6. FYI this one's the free game of the day for MiLB, so you can watch even if you don't have a subscription.
  7. At least we didn't get no hit? Abreu is batting .067, but he did make a nice defensive play for the 2nd out in the 9th.
  8. Interesting breakdown with some comps for Crochet's pitches.
  9. His roster spot goes to waiver claim Tyler Nevin, which is definitely a choice.
  10. Didn't he have a full count walk or two robbed by the ump yesterday?
  11. 3 games in, and we have multiple HRs from shortstops. Wonder how long that took last season.
  12. Rough one for Ober vs. the Royals today. Those 9 hits include 3 HR, a double, and a triple. Witt a double short of the cycle with 5 innings to play.
  13. He's still listed as active by MiLB and there's no transaction showing a release. I guess we'll get confirmation soon enough. Edit:
  14. Both. No production for the Yanks, and none of the traded guys produced at the MLB level for another team either. But at least the second part probably changes soon with Oliver Dunn (2019 11th round Yanks pick, Rule 5'd and then traded) making the Brewers OD roster.
  15. I suspect this will be made official just after midnight on Friday.
  16. White Sox South strike again, all but assuredly dooming their season with these terrible castoffs from a losing organization.
  17. I'm guessing they plan to carry 9 relievers until they need the 5th starter spot. Shaw has a rubber arm and doesn't seem to mind hanging out in Charlotte until he's needed again when you cut him for Nastrini (or whoever) in a couple weeks.
