This move reduced his 2026 cap number to $7.775 million while raising his 2027 cap hit—the final year of his deal—to $15.425 million.“

A 4.7 forty time at 6’6” and 267 sounds pretty insane. But taking a TE with such a high pick is also a bit crazy considering the team’s needs.

Ahem… I think the Bears will try to trade Kmet but ultimately he will be a pre-June 1st cut. The Bears don’t think he is worth paying $21 million over the next two years with Loveland taking over the primary role.

Before the swarm of players came and it was one on one for a very short time, Ventura literally ran into a headlock and got popped a few times. But Rodriguez did hold Ventura’s arms back quickly after. Ventura eventually took Ryan down with the help of a swarm of players pushing them both over. There’s a reason most fans (not just Sox fans) remember this scene because it was an old man beating a young guy’s ass.

The double whammy would have been if Getz called him a switch hitter again during the booth interview.

I’d take that extension deal in a heartbeat right now. I don’t think Murakami would accept it but I have no faith in Jerry approving what the years and money will end up being in free agency once any and all teams can make offers.

Would that even be close to enough? In just over 100 plate appearances, he has not really shown that he needed time to get acclimated to MLB pitching. I’m sure that could change as pitchers figure out his weak spots more and more but I can’t imagine he won’t adjust. I’m sure Murakami knows who he is and I wouldn’t be surprised if he already thinks he’s a top hitter in the MLB. I guess my point is, if you already had $40 million or so guaranteed coming to you, not including what you earned in Japan, and you are already tearing up the MLB, would you rush to sign an extension for $120 million? Or would you wait until the end of next season and see what kind of offers you could get in unrestricted free agency? Because those offers could potentially be double or possibly triple that $120 million.

Definitely felt like Grant Taylor won the game watching those tense late innings.
