Free MLB.TV Day (for those who have T-Mobile)

True, but just imagine paying for it. -

It took him forever to get there. And still, he only put up a career 7.7 bWAR. Meanwhile, the Tigers got a Hall of Famer who put up 67.2 bWAR in his career. None of the other prospects the Tigers gave up did anything. Amazing trade for DD.

We’d have to release most of the lineup.

Who are you most excited to watch this year?

You get Owen White. Even better. -
You sure about that? I’m not.

Yep, overpay Giddey and the Bulls still can’t afford to keep them all. Not sure if Tray realizes this. -
It’s not a good return if the top prospects don’t pan out. Knowing which prospects to give up is also the key to being a good GM.

The Miguel Cabrera trade was still a fleecing. Getz wakes up in a cold sweat wishing he could make a trade like this. Then he struggles to fall back asleep all depressed thinking about his Cease and Santos trades. December 4, 2007: Miguel Cabrera traded by the Florida Marlins with Dontrelle Willis to the Detroit Tigers for Dallas Trahern (minors), Burke Badenhop, Frankie De La Cruz, Cameron Maybin, Andrew Miller, and Mike Rabelo.

Dane Dunning cleared waivers and was outrighted to AAA.

Definitely. Younger and while they’ll both hit .220, Moniak can at least run into one every now and then.
-
Would’ve been nice. Will be interesting to see what he eventually signs for. Ultimately, I think he will probably be out of the Sox range of around $5 million. Texas gave him $13 million for last season and he had a good year. I know he’s old as dirt but he keeps putting up good seasons so I doubt he takes that much of a pay cut.

How do you rank Chris Getz' GM tenure so far?

You need to start sending your letters to Ishbia instead. -

They are. I’m still not buying though. And this hot streak is just going to ensure they will get another mediocre draft pick spot. NBA Hell continues… -
How many other GMs throughout baseball history intentionally tanked like Getz and the Sox did? How many of those GMs set the record Getz did last year?

Exactly. And who were the Nuggets missing that was probably the difference in the game? Oh yeah… -
I’m sure the Mets would love to but I doubt there is any hope of that. The Mets would have to pay a ton of Marte’s remaining money. Another poster mentioned this very early on — that Canario probably wouldn’t remain with the Mets simply because Marte is owed $19.5 million for this year. Yikes… If the Mets DFA Canario soon, I hope Getz is all over him. Other posters have noted Canario’s swing and miss issues, and they are correct, as he has 15 strikeouts in 43 plate appearances this Spring. But he has also drawn 7 walks and shown his power with 3 bombs, including a grand slam. I still think he’s worth a shot. He’s only a year older than Meidroth and could be a part of the next good young Sox team, even if he is just a platoon OF/DH at best.

Apparently, the guy who got into it with Bernstein just donated $10,000 to Camp One Step, for which Bernstein served on the board of directors and was removed last week for his tweet about going after this guy’s children.
-
Brutal. Bad enough we had to watch them on the Sox last year, but Oldy Moldy is now another year older? 38 now? Wow, poor Padres fans…

Link: ”Alexander Canario had two homers, including a grand slam, in the Mets’ 10-2 rout of the Marlins on Sunday. He also singled. When we checked in on Canario a week ago, he was just 3-for-25 with a .621 OPS this spring. Now he’s 11-for-35 with a 1.058 OPS. He still doesn’t make sense for the Mets roster, but it seems far more likely now that he’ll be claimed by some team (Colorado?) if he goes on waivers.”

Talking politics has been a non-stop theme over the years with Bernstein, so you must have missed a lot of it. He is extreme anti-Catholic and anti-Conservative. He takes shots at the current POTUS all the time. I remember in 2016 right after the election, Bernstein said he tucked in his son into bed for the night and cried as he was worried about the future of Jewish people. He was always a sensationalist tool and used his platform to spout his biased beliefs. Good riddance.
