Free Tim Elko (Back in Jail)
This, I will never understand. The one thing the Sox continue to do in a rebuild… play veterans that won’t be on the team beyond the season. It literally makes zero sense.

Matt Thaiss traded to TB for OF Dru Baker
The most recent timeline provided on Perez was 10 to 12 weeks back on May 2nd, which would give him a chance to make it back to the rotation by late July or early August. That would probably be cutting it too close for him to be dealt.

Yep. Plesac covers for Schriffen’s ineptitude.

Matt Thaiss traded to TB for OF Dru Baker
If this is selling high, you may as well keep Lee. What you get back for Lee will probably be worse than Lee himself. I don’t mind 3 catchers on the roster when one can play 1B or DH.

And since they are old, frail vets, they miss much of the season with injuries and net you nothing at all. See Tauchman and Slater.

Does Getz not believe in A ball lottery tickets at all? He either trades them for old relievers or instead chooses to acquire bad older prospects that are a year or two from aging out of MLB chances.

What's the bullpen solution (knowing JR will never spend here)...?
Jerry has a lot more bad signings made by his GMs over the years to be upset about being a waste of money rather than a closer who did a bunch for the community and was an All-Star in his first two seasons in a White Sox uniform before his stage 4 non-Hodgkin's lymphoma diagnosis.

Fire Chris Getz
Well, I guess it would have been nicer if Ryan Fuller had realized that Austin Hays is a better hitter than Austin Slater and recommended Hays instead. 🤣

Fire Chris Getz
The first report of Austin Slater signing with the Sox was on November 18th. Austin Hays didn’t sign with the Reds until the very end of January, so it doesn’t seem like there was a ton of interest in him. Perhaps if Getz had prioritized Hays right away like he did with Slater, he takes $5 million from the Sox? Who knows?

Thanks for sharing. My whole point around Canario was that he was still relatively young when he was made available by the Cubs and Mets (24, turning 25), he played a position of long-term need for this team (corner OF), was once a highly touted prospect, and still had a plus power tool. Also, while not great it looks like his strikeout percentage didn’t blow up out of control yet going from the minors to the majors, holding at around 28.5%. And what team would have made all the sense in the world to give a guy like Canario at bats? A crappy team like the Sox! And at his relatively young age, you might have added a starting, platoon, or backup outfielder for beyond 2025 and/or the next good Sox team. But I guess you wouldn’t want to block the Tauchman’s and Slater’s of the world who will be gone at the end of the season, if not earlier. Getz has also already employed numerous bums like Jankowski, Maton, Capra, Amaya, Dalbec, etc. this season so I can’t believe anyone would rip on the idea of adding a guy like Canario. Even sadder is how Austin Hays is currently hitting (.950 OPS). Most posters wanted him starting in RF as the best and relatively cheap comeback player candidate available before Getz inexplicably jumped on Slater as his self-proclaimed top free agent target of the offseason. The Reds signed Hays for $1 million more than what Getz paid for Slater + Tauchman and the Reds will likely be able to get decent prospect for Hays at the deadline. Slater and Tauchman aren’t going to return jack squat.

Sox now Colas free zone
$2.7 million was and still is chump change for a 23-year old top Cuban prospect. It was worth a shot. Meanwhile, Getz signed a redundant 30-year old all glove / no bat infielder Josh Rojas for $3.5 million dollars to add to a rebuilding team that can’t hit. Some posters are saying that Rojas should have been cut to keep Elko on the roster. If we want to talk about real wastes of money, we don’t have to look very far.

Schriffen / Stone. People actually liked Benetti.

GT Get out the brooms! Sun 110 pm Rangers/Sox Martin Corbin
Beni being the highest paid player on this team and sporting a sub-.700 OPS is a good reason this team is garbage. Luis Robert too. Both overpaid and bad.

GT Get out the brooms! Sun 110 pm Rangers/Sox Martin Corbin
I was listening on the radio when Kasper and DJ gave the kiss of death to Taylor raving about how smart he was to take 2nd base on his hit… and then he gets picked off seconds later. 🤣

The Angels sure seem to love ex-Sox players.

And that's a 10-5 White Sox WINNER!
Reaching for the stars, I see. We should definitely be proud of Jerry and Getz.

Sox now Colas free zone
At least he was only $2.7 million. What Luis Robert is doing right now is grand larceny.

Definitely sad.

GT Rangers at Sox 300 pm Leiter vs. B.Wilson
Palacios outhitting Robert is an absolute embarrassment. Robert isn’t netting Getz a bag of balls at the deadline.

New Sox broadcaster...
Stone retiring? I figured he would continue to milk his easy gig of trolling his partner and collecting a paycheck for a few more years? Stone Pony likes dogs more than humans.

Some good news (we hope)...
Especially considering who the Sox passed on for him. Yikes…
