  1. Eh, he was never that good of a hitter or defender.
  2. Canario is worth more than anyone we have to play right now for two reasons — age (24) and power potential. I would rather see what he can do than a 27 year old Fletcher that has zero power and a 26 year old Colas that has trouble catching pop flies. DeLoach is as old as Colas and no other MLB wanted him when he was DFA. I would not be surprised if no team has interest in Colas either if he is DFA. All the more reason that Getz should have traded for 24 year old Canario, and don’t forget that he only cost cash considerations and a 40-man roster spot. I still can’t believe there is even a question of what Getz should have done here — you have a 100 loss team and you are going to sign and start a platoon of two 32+ year old right fielders along with a sunk cost bloated contract in Benintendi in LF. No, if you are a GM with a clue, you claim the 24 year old outfielder in Canario and kick Colas or Slater to the curb. Then, you either wait until another outfielder gets injured or your trade Robert to get Canario more playing time or another outfielder like Benintendi gets injured. Are the Sox going to trade Tauchman and Slater for a better prospect than Canario? I highly doubt it… And remember this — I don’t give a crap if Canario busts out. It is worth the try, when the other options are Tauchman, Slater, Fletcher, Colas, etc.
  3. You’re pretty incredibly hopeful then, and I won’t say “Fvk you” to you. Let’s start a 22 year old in the majors with ZERO minor league experience. Enjoy the Andrew Vaughn experience… all over again.
  4. He’s was an interesting prospect to trade for and he was a good return for our trash but the absolute ZERO extra base hit and HR power he has pretty much makes him a utility infielder at best. Not even worth following honestly.
  5. Rehab minor league starts after he is healed will add to the time out.
  6. You, tray, and greg need to stop this moronic bullshit. Do you actually want to ruin one of the few potentially good position prospects we have?
  7. I think it was Cali. Yeah, that’s the only reason I would keep Fletcher. The ability to play all OF spots, even if he can’t hit.
  8. It’s easy to see how he is not favored by Getz when you see this play, haha. Remember how he also had no clue what a relay throw was and would always try to gun it home when he had zero shot of throwing a runner out?
  9. Just like I posted last week, which was obvious. I am no Nostradamus. ST injuries happen all the time and ST just started afterall. This is not hindsight.
  10. I saw this transaction earlier today. Was this @CaliSoxFanViaSWside’s favorite or yours? I can’t remember for sure, but I seem to remember Cali wanting to add outfielders Garrett and Outman in the past. Worth a shot, although the dude is already 29 now. But he has definitely shown more with the bat than Colas in the majors. I still would have dumped Fletcher for Canario and I hope Getz is still watching to see if the Mets end up DFA’ing him. Canario has age on his side at only 24, and the Sox definitely have at bats to give with Benintendi out for a month plus.
  11. Yep, Colas isn’t even really that young anymore.
  12. A winning percentage even worse than last ST and regular season. 🤣
  13. I’d look for a DFA outfielder over all of these bums, lol.
  14. That would make sense but Ramos may not be healthy enough yet. The Sox also have some weird obsession with playing Vargas at 3B.
  15. See if the Mets will take his sorry no bat / no glove ass for Canario and just start Canario in LF with Benintendi out. This season is already circling the drain before it even started so you may as well see if another young guy can pan out with the at bats.
  16. Ugh, his back woes continue into this season…
  17. Yes, I believe that is correct. Or he could pitch poorly and the Sox could choose to non-tender him next offseason.
  18. I would probably start the season with Wilson in the rotation as well. If he can put up a good first half of starts, I’ve gotta think he could net a decent prospect considering he is only earning $1.05 million this year and isn’t a free agent until 2027. Wilson is arbitration eligible next offseason.
  19. Great pitching today, especially by all of the top guys. Offense as offensive as expected.
  20. He’s hitting .333 with a .929 OPS and he isn’t injured yet! Positive thoughts!
