  1. About $12 million.
  2. It’s a shame these fliers that Getz acquires aren’t a bit younger like 24/25, but I guess they might not be available then. Here’s a recent article on him from last month when the Blue Jays called him up… “Under the Radar Blue Jays prospect: Will Robertson“ I presume he will be called up to play RF once Tauchman is dealt.
  3. This is true as well. I just don’t think he’s worth extending at age 33. If he was a few years younger, sure, maybe.
  4. Three more weeks to start that hot streak before the deadline! 🤣
  5. I doubt Houser wants to sign an extension right now instead of riding his hot streak to potentially more quality starts and more millions as a free agent in the offseason. And as a free agent, there’s no guarantee he will resign with the Sox. Trade him at his peak value for a prospect or two and try to bring him back in the offseason if you still want him. Anything else makes no sense. If he continues to excel, you can still try to bring him back. If you manage to extend him now and he tanks in the second half of the season, you are stuck with an old mediocre starter in your rotation for next season.
  6. Last year, they won their 30th game on August 16th at Houston. They won their 31st game on August 21st at San Francisco. https://www.baseball-almanac.com/teamstats/schedule.php?y=2024&t=CHA
  7. Not really. More hilarious is not knowing what MLB Gameday is. 🤣
  8. Marlins claimed RHP Tyler Zuber off waivers from the Mets and designated RHP Nick Nastrini for assignment.
  9. It’s not about wins and losses yet… Job security for years!
  10. Sanity prevails!
  11. And that was with an already open spot on the 40-man roster. The Marlins claiming Nastrini made is 38 at the time.
  12. “White Sox Outright Vinny Capra“
  13. Because Noda had to go to the IL? Do the Sox even think Elko is a better option?
  14. Sure, but we typically rank the accuracy of these trade rumors by the source that reported them. I think we can all agree that Ken Rosenthal is a pretty reliable source, no? While I only remember the Reds / Robert rumor mentioning Arroyo and not any other prospect names, the trade fell through due to lack of agreement on the prospects and money involved… https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/01/white-sox-trade-rumors-luis-robert-reds-edwin-arroyo-giants.html I also don’t think it’s outrageous to believe that the Sox could have gotten back Arroyo plus additional prospect(s) back for Robert had the Sox eaten some money, prior to this season. But after another half season of bad Robert, I doubt this same offer would be on the table anymore even if the Reds were still an interested team.
  15. “Yesterday’s popup” does not equate to yet another long Vargas slump or Robert’s 1.5 season long slump of not hitting. You generally spout this type of hyperbole and continue to put words in other posters’ mouths.
  16. Perhaps. Unfortunately, that doesn’t help the Sox any. Of course White Sox fans are going to have a much more critical opinion of their former star player who has turned into a shell of himself while watching him play daily (when he isn’t injured of course) compared to the national viewpoint of some writer that barely watches Robert play and simply remembers that season two years ago when he was really good. This shouldn’t be a surprise to you at all. It makes sense.
  17. The bigger whiff is not having or not being able to find a better 1B option than Ryan Noda.
  18. I said he’s been “mediocre”, not bad, which he has been now for the past 1.5 seasons. And that’s when he’s not injured. And where did I ignore his handedness? Yes, I realize a righty is typically a better hitter against lefties and vice versa. Talking Robert up over and over isn’t going to improve the trade return on him no matter how much you hope and wish it will. Unfortunately, Getz didn’t trade Robert sooner, he performed even worse, and now the trade return on him will be even weaker. Time to accept the cold hard truth. It sucks, but oh well…
  19. I disagree. He knows how bad this team is and yet he still takes his kids to Sox games. It’s his own twisted form of punishment when his kids don’t get straight A’s or eat all of their vegetables.
  20. This goes to show that beating the Rockies means jack. That’s how bad they are.
  21. I think by the end of the season, we wouldn’t want either of them anyways.
  22. Not sure why you would exclude his numbers for this season. And yes, those numbers are mediocre for a supposed “star” player earning $15 million dollars. When Benintendi is outplaying you and earning more of his salary than you, that’s embarrassing. Both guys need to go bye bye.
