Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
I said he’s been “mediocre”, not bad, which he has been now for the past 1.5 seasons. And that’s when he’s not injured. And where did I ignore his handedness? Yes, I realize a righty is typically a better hitter against lefties and vice versa. Talking Robert up over and over isn’t going to improve the trade return on him no matter how much you hope and wish it will. Unfortunately, Getz didn’t trade Robert sooner, he performed even worse, and now the trade return on him will be even weaker. Time to accept the cold hard truth. It sucks, but oh well…

I disagree. He knows how bad this team is and yet he still takes his kids to Sox games. It’s his own twisted form of punishment when his kids don’t get straight A’s or eat all of their vegetables.

This goes to show that beating the Rockies means jack. That’s how bad they are.

Not sure why you would exclude his numbers for this season. And yes, those numbers are mediocre for a supposed “star” player earning $15 million dollars. When Benintendi is outplaying you and earning more of his salary than you, that’s embarrassing. Both guys need to go bye bye.

Good point. I had to check if his stats against lefties were just fluky good for this year only but he has a career line of .297/.372/.507/.879 against them. He’s just been very mediocre against righties in his career, unfortunately — .246/.292/.440/.732.- Trading Deadline
“Little patience Need a little patience, yeah Just a little patience, yeah” The defense is definitely an issue but also Sosa has 64 strikeouts and only 7 walks. 😞 He could be a really good hitter if he figured that out, but I guess we could say the same thing about a ton of players.- Trading Deadline
And obviously Vargas is more valuable than a guy like Andrew Vaughn due to their respective defense, but Vargas is nearing 1,000 plate appearances for his career (he’s at around 39% of Vaughn’s career PA’s) and he’s been an even worse hitter thus far. And almost everyone was excited to see Vaughn go because he can’t hit.- Luis Robert to be back soon
Right quad strain. Noda is hitting .088 (3-for-34) with one homer over 16 games. Should have just released him before he got injured.- Trading Deadline
If many posters here don’t think he’s a good enough long-term option for the Sox at either 3B or 1B, I doubt the Cubs would want him at 3B either.- Trading Deadline
I would too but I think the Cubs will go after a better hitting 3B than Vargas who is an impending free agent, which will come cheaper than giving up Shaw.- First Place Blue Jays Come to Town
Apparently Schriffen doesn’t realize Vargas is in the middle of another slump.- First Place Blue Jays Come to Town
What an absolute crap at bat and night by Benintendi.- First Place Blue Jays Come to Town
This is a good old fashioned ass whooping.- First Place Blue Jays Come to Town
It doesn’t just feel like that. That’s what IS happening. It’s a dong fest out there tonight.- First Place Blue Jays Come to Town
I don’t remember this one either. Were you remembering him as a potential Fedde trade target?- First Place Blue Jays Come to Town
No Tristan Gray = no W.- Shane Smith (White Sox All Star)
So the 24-year old is in question to be good long-term, but you have much more faith in the short hot streak of a soon-to-be 33-year old veteran starter who has been pretty much mediocre his entire career?- 7/6 - Sox @ Rockies, Smith v. Dollander - 2:10 CDT

That’s what happens when you use AI to write your articles and social media posts.- Trading Deadline
I read that they are also looking at Eugenio Suarez of the Diamondbacks as a bridge veteran 3B the rest of the way but they aren’t looking to trade Shaw.- '05 Forever...
Incredibly cheesy, haha. I did like how modern day Podsednik was asking the young Crede, Rowand, and AJ actors what they were talking about in the re-enactment. Also nice to hear DJ’s home run call again… “Ohhh-myyy, that is three runs, BYE-BYEEE!!!” 🤣🤣🤣 - Luis Robert trade thread: La Pantera stays.
