  1. More guys like Soroka and Flexen that had a good year or two before injuries.
  2. The Raiders have already fired Getsy. The Bears sure know how to pick coaches.
  3. I didn’t see a Ron post. It was Cali. I would have recognized some unnecessary Abreu trolling if it was a Ron post. 🤣
  4. WhiteSox2023 replied to oldsox's topic in The Diamond Club
Rizzo is a former good 1B that is now past his prime. Vaughn is a never was.
  5. It will be interesting to see if Venable is the real deal or if Getz will sabotage his managerial career with poor roster decisions.
  6. $3 million is more in their wheelhouse for a veteran starter.
  7. Would make some sense as a veteran starter but I doubt the Sox want to pay him $5.5 million.
  8. Fenwick advances to face Downers Grove North and future Minnesota Gophers QB Owen Lansu. 12-7 final. Some awful ball management by BR’s QB CJ Gray basically gave the game to Fenwick. Crazy scrambling at the end of the first half to give up the ball and an easy Fenwick TD and some more scrambling out of his own end zone for a safety in the fourth quarter, rather than taking a sack and throwing the ball away. 9 points gifted to Fenwick. OL injuries ended up killing BR. While Fenwick does have a good D, BR couldn’t move the ball on the ground at all.
  9. That may be a good idea considering Getz seems to mostly go after terrible players.
  10. Getz literally said they won’t be spending in free agency a couple months ago…
  11. Jon Rauch still made a career as a decent reliever and was in the MLB for 11 years. I don’t think he would be that massive of a bust considering that. He was still just a third round pick.
  12. This is true, but is 33 innings a short stretch? That’s about half a season of innings for most relievers. I guess we’ll find out next season.
  13. Isn’t it at the second half of this video?
  14. Who the hell is Echo?
  15. You’re right. He’d probably just top off his swimming pool with it.
  16. Awesome. Thanks for sharing this news. Grady deserves a shot as a bench coach. It’s apparent he wants a career in baseball after taking that a $15-an-hour internship with the D-backs.
  17. Getz is an expert at acquiring scraps — Maldonado, Lopez, Fletcher, Vargas, etc.
  18. It is a fact that Kopech put up better stats with the Dodgers than the Sox last year. That is clear and irrefutable.
  19. “Maybe he still is the same guy, but the simple fact is that the Dodgers got the best out of him. The Sox didn’t.”
  20. Vargas was already terrible with the Dodgers in 434 plate appearances across three seasons. It’s not like he was a fresh and still hyped up prospect without any major league time. Getz took the scraps that the Dodgers offered him, and chose poorly as he usually does in his trades.
  21. I disagree that both 43.2 IP and 33 IP are small sample sizes for a reliever but agree to disagree.
