  1. I doubt Maldonado holds any weight these days, other than his own beer gut. The younger players, like Lee, are going to wonder why this old dude with 7 hits on the season is stealing his starting job when he can’t play defense these days either.
  2. And some players are still here from last year. The team has only gotten worse. Combine a terrible manager with terrible players and a terrible team and it isn’t a surprise to have a dysfunctional clubhouse.
  3. Just curious why you would default to not believing this, with all we’ve seen from our stupid manager and his players outright disagreeing with him straight to the media?
  4. I still can’t be mad about it. That 2006 offense was a monster and fun to watch. The Sox had no minor league talent to sustain any sort of run after 2005 but that was a good follow-up season by Kenny Williams. 1st in MLB in team HR (236) 1st in MLB in team SLG (.464) 2nd in MLB in team RBI (839) 3rd in MLB in team Runs Scored (868) 3rd in MLB in team OPS (.806) 4th in MLB in team Hits (1,586) 5th in MLB in team AVG (.280) 8th in MLB in team OBP (.342)
  5. Why do you think I knew? I was too. ? Drunk posts are definitely better than drunk texts, especially to an ex-gf. Those definitely aren’t fun to wake up and remember.
  6. I love how the Phillies need an outfielder and one of the guys they are looking at likely so they don’t have to overpay for Luis Robert is a guy in Jake McCarthy that Getz/Barfield passed on for Dominic Fletcher. The Sox should currently have all three options for OF needy teams — Robert, McCarthy, and Pham. Nice scouting fail there…
  7. I hope Ozzie doesn’t try to manage again. He’s much more likable in this role. ?
  8. If the Sox could get him for nothing and he replaces Lopez at 2B, fine. But he’s never been much of a hitter himself and I doubt he increases his value in 6-7 weeks before the deadline to garner much of anything in a trade.
  9. He retired after his last season with the Sox in 2018.
  10. Update: 7-8 teams have lost any interest in Michael Kopech after tonight’s game.
  11. Dumpster fire with a near 5 ERA. Only another stupid GM like Getz would trade for this bum.
  12. Kopech is the roller coaster ride that always delivers. What team would give up anything for this train wreck of a pitcher? Failed starter and now failed high leverage reliever.
  13. I think he was referring to Robert’s low number of RBIs despite his 5 homeruns because no one gets on base in front of him. All the more reason to start Lopez second in the order.
  14. Yep. When he’s not clowning his partner, he’s taking vacations during west coast trips. Amazing how the Sox let The Legend do whatever he wants but were all over Benetti’s nuts.
  15. You always want to bat your absolute worst hitter right in front of your best hitter. Grifol can get fucked.
  16. Merkin is such a troll with these articles… “White Sox show confidence in Maldonado despite tough stretch at plate“ It’s not a stretch, it’s his norm.
  17. I was referring to the last sentence. How players bomb for the Sox and go elsewhere and remember how to hit again.
  18. This sure seems to happen quite often… “It’s not good over there. You can tell by how often there’s turnover that it usually means something’s going on. Players leaving the organization and automatically doing better (with their new team).”
  19. Hoffman actually had a 95 mph fastball before injuries. https://baseballhall.org/hall-of-famers/hoffman-trevor#:~:text=During the 1994 players' strike, reduction for a power closer.
