  1. He has been terrible and has looked uninterested in playing very hard. All he had to do was go on a hot streak and he’d be playing for a contender. It’s better that the Sox don’t sell him low. Just have to hope he stays healthy and gets hot the rest of the season and/or before next year’s trade deadline.
  2. Orioles, lol. I’d love to see that “offer”.
  3. Yep, it seems like they Getz might be trying to build a patchwork lineup with sell low candidates, rather than go the prospect route. Yuck, I really hope this isn’t the case. I just hope that Outman is already slightly out of Getz’s age range of players he is seeking so he avoids him altogether. Both Walker and Vargas are a few years younger.
  4. There were no extension demands for Fedde and he had a dirt cheap contract so what explains the mediocre return for him?
  5. Yuck. Acquiring Outman over additional prospects would be terrible. He’s had a terrible sophomore slump and he will already turn 28 next season. Along with a catcher that may not be able to stick there, and his bat likely isn’t good enough for 1B. The Dodgers would have to be offering up Rushing and De Paula.
  6. Elias says no to dealing Mayo. Has any GM dealt a top position player prospect this trade deadline?
  7. The second response to this thread and absolutely nailed it.
  8. And it only took him one deadline trade and POOP ?
  9. Because our awful GM didn’t demand anything from the Cardinals.
  10. They were adjusted for the impact of the Sox farm system. ?
  11. MLB.com says that it is a PTBNL OR cash from the Dodgers, so it could just be cash and not a player.
  12. Why would he have to be a PTBNL though? My guess is they get cash instead.
  13. You beat me to this. The best part was he gave up the homer to ex-Cubs prospect and last year’s trade acquisition Jaimer Candelario. What an epic debut and meltdown. ?
  14. The only thing that was added at the end of the reporting was a player to be named later or cash (from Dodgers).
  15. While Witt is moved up to that league, Getz, Grifol, and the Sox should be demoted to Low A ball.
  16. JR is going to be annoyed enough as it is that he has to replace Grifol and pay out the final year of his contract. Getz is safe for a long while, as he did what JR wanted — slashed payroll overall. JR won’t even notice that he wasted $22+ million on a bunch of shitbag players.
  17. No, not at all. These guys were expected to be awful by most posters in the offseason while they were being acquired. Getz thought they would at least turn around the defense. Oops…
  18. $22.1 million dollars literally burned in a firepit.
  19. I updated my previous post. It’s like $22 million wasted on garbage players that are either gone already, should be DFA, or are injured.
  20. $5.5 million for Brebbia to be precise. $4.5 million for Maldonado. Another $4.3 million for Nicky Lopez. $3 million for Soroka. $3 million wasted on Clevinger. $1.8 million for Tim Hill. It all adds up to $22.1 million and it’s all so so bad. Nice job, Getz.
  21. I think Brebbia’s trade market just came and donged.
  22. f*** yeah, you guys did it. #15!!! History!!!
