  1. If you looked at it as an acquisition that was meant for a contender maybe. But I disagree because the goal was to actually get something in return for his offseason acquisitions. DeJong and even Pham were at least dealt for a return.
  2. Yep, he still has some archaic notion that the owners are responsible for the popularity of baseball, not the star players. So he doesn’t think the players should get paid like their are these days. Which is mostly just because he doesn’t want to pay a player as much money as the are making now.
  3. Back when he was a brand new owner and probably truly wanted to win as much as make money. But that definitely changed and he started mainly caring about the profits.
  4. Fletcher and Vargas.
  5. You’ve seen what positional starting talent Getz acquired this year. He thought Fletcher and Vargas were starting caliber. Getz couldn’t build a new quality lineup in 3 years if he sold his soul to the devil. They have what, two prospects right now that may be quality starters in Montgomery and Ramos? And even they aren’t sure bets.
  6. Huh? Crochet is a free agent in 2027. A 3-year extension now would buy out his last 2 arbitration years (2025 and 2026) and his first year of free agency in 2027. He would then be a free agent in 2028. What you are describing would have to be a 5-year extension, which Jerry likely wouldn’t approve for a pitcher.
  7. I’d like to hear from the posters who want to sign Crochet to a 3-year extension… Will the rest of the team be good enough with Crochet here to win anything in the next 3 years? With what lineup?
  8. Now this is true, as long as players are still willing to sign with the worse team in baseball.
  9. His job was to perform good enough to get traded for a prospect at the deadline. He didn’t. Failed signing.
  10. Well, that’s different. You are paying to watch a bunch of teams, not just the lowly Sox.
  11. So Flexen ended up earning $2.75 million on the season. The goal was to get back something for him at the trade deadline but this sly fox ended up being the only one to make out. He also likely earned himself another contract for a few million dollars next year.
  12. Seriously, F this guy after his trade deadline antics. Trade him.
  13. Hey man, would you pay to watch this team for the next few years? I’ll watch them if it’s near free (just electricity). Paying to watch this team is the equivalent of a Getz offseason — like lighting money on fire.
  14. Getz probably just wasn’t tracking it. I bet he got berated by Jerry about how many more Campfire Shakes they will have to sell next year to make back that $250K.
  15. Yep. Most smart TV’s have an OS with a proprietary app store to download VPN apps and the MLB.TV app. If your smart TV’s app store selection is limited, you can always grab an Amazon Fire Stick 4K Max for $30 to $35 on sale (Prime Days coming up soon) and its app store has almost everything. It’s the cheapest solution for sailing the open seas in search of streaming treasure. 🏴‍☠️
  16. With a handful of games left. 🤣 Real go-getters!
  17. But will you want to? It might actually be better to live in the woods with no electricity and TV like Ted Kaczynski. No awful baseball to annoy you, just beautiful nature!
  18. Yep, I hear you. I had bought a subscription to Windscribe VPN ages ago back when companies actually sold VPN licenses for a one-time flat fee rather than a monthly fee. I think it was like $15 to $20 bucks. I set my VPN location to England and never have a problem getting a blacked out Sox game. It’s been more reliable for me than Reddit streams, which I also used to watch.
  19. I just learned from my 14 year old son how to configure an app called Stremio and the best torrent and live channel add-on’s for it. I can’t believe anyone would ever pay for cable after seeing Stremio. I’ll pay for faster Internet speeds to support streaming, but that’s about it.
  20. My favorite has always been the annual free MLB.TV through T-Mobile along with a VPN app on phones, tablets, laptops, smart TV’s, etc. Chicago blackouts averted… Or a site named MLB66 if you don’t have T-Mobile or a VPN app…
  21. Your sarcasm/trolling skills are always on point. 👍🏻
  22. Remember when Getz made a somewhat big deal about retaining him? 🤣
