Elias is in love with his prospects and isn’t paying that much for 1.5 years of a starter without much of a history of success and an erratic reliever. Also, both Norby and Beavers would likely be in our top 5 or 6 after Quero, not the back end of our top 10. Ultimately, I think when we see the actual return for Fedde and Kopech, we are going to wish it was Norby and Beavers.

That’s fine, but Getz should still be targeting younger players than Junks. Even Fletcher was slightly too old to be a good target for this current Sox team. I never once said anything about Luis Rodriguez. Getz is valuing the wrong types of players considering where this rebuild is at.

Tell me why any GM of a team where the Sox are at should ever be trading anyone for 28 year old players? If Julks was in his early to mid-20’s, at least I could understand.

In general, can anyone explain the rationale behind why Getz is trading young prospects for 26+ year old guys, with where the Sox are right now?
