  1. Pham is the baseball gods’ gift to the pathetic Sox. The baseball gods must not want the Sox to set the shutout record or the franchise loss record.
  2. Definitely as big of a geek, but with much less talent than Benetti has.
  3. See my avatar. So our great former Director of Player Development and current GM, whose entire offseason strategy was to acquire crappy defensive-minded veteran position players to give our prospects more time to develop in the minors and to also ease their transition to the majors, apparently has no clue when a prospect is actually ready for the majors. Nastrini was pitching like dogshit recently in AAA. What made our great GM think he was ready for the bigs? Did he flip a coin to decide like Two-Face in Batman? Getz is no better than a little kid playing MLB The Show. He is just starting the clock on all of these guys with zero rhyme or reason and simply hoping some of them succeed.
  4. It takes leaving the putrid Sox to go balls out and play well. Pillar’s numbers with the Angels, even including his crappy Sox stats, are absolutely insane.
  5. Remember during the offseason when some posters respected Getz’s sound strategy of signing cheap vets to give the prospects more prep time in the minors? Yeah, that was pretty much bullshit. Getz is simply calling up anyone and everyone this season, regardless of performance, readiness, etc. ?
  6. I think both sides are being tools. The Score (specifically Riordan) flips out ridiculously about anything and everything and Schriffen is stupidly goading them, which is weird as he is new to the city and team and doesn’t have much experience outside of Slam Ball.
  7. 146 plate appearances, .669 OPS, and 2 injuries already this season. So what exactly is Eloy good at, considering he can’t play defense?
  8. The three main injury-prone crew have barely played this season and they couldn’t even make it to the start of summer. Further proof on why these guys can never be counted on, which shouldn’t excuse Getz or the Sox for banking on them. These guys are what they are. Hopefully, Getz uses this as a learning lesson and realizes that this is what the future likely holds for Robert, barely playing due to injury just like Eloy and Moncada. Get him as healthy as he can be and trade him after an extended hot streak. The flip side is that Robert stays healthy by some miracle and the Sox won’t be able to re-sign him anyways so I don’t see a reason to not trade him.
  9. Haha, even Grifol is lying now. When it comes to Eloy, always assume it will be longer.
  10. Mr. Glass brought balance to his world. Where there are super heroes, there have to be villains. Just like in the MLB, where there are iron men players that always stay healthy, you need an Eloy who always gets hurt to bring balance.
  11. Tray told me this thread is fake news.
  12. A Nicky Lopez RBI? Now that’s a rare occurrence.
  13. I’m not going to feed you any BS. I’ll just flush it first.
  14. It seems like it does, but I would think activating him to the big league roster in June would be best to allow for some buffer of a short IL stint. It’s still cutting it close though.
  15. So he would need to make the big league active roster by the beginning of July and stay on it (and stay healthy) until the very end of the season? Or get activated a month earlier in June which would allow him to miss a little time until the end of the season?
  16. Words aren’t even needed, but his idol in life is Bernstein. ? And what would you call this look, hillbilly emo? https://x.com/shane_riordan/status/1792588328207847841
  17. No one would even know who the hell Grifol was, much less any of the Sox players. A 16 year old high school girl sure wouldn’t. ?
  18. Yeah, I’ll take the guy that can hit and stay healthy over the guy who is always injured and even when he’s healthy he can’t hit.
  19. Yup. Devers has out-OPS’ed Moncada by .100 points in their respective careers. Sad.
  20. Might be a package deal to a team needing both a starter and bullpen help. They would both only be around $5 million for the rest of the season closer to the deadline and then around $10 million for next year.
  21. I saw this quote in another thread. Pukeworthy. ? ?
  22. Grifol is a moron. ”Beni is a consistent pillar in our lineup.” Yeah, cuz they can’t cut him cuz of his obscene contract. It makes no sense to call up a guy like Fletcher if you aren’t going to play him consistently. Figure out if he can play or if he’s a bust like most of Getz’s other acquisitions.
  23. Getz failed to find both positions as well (see Lopez and Fletcher), but apparently you only want to rip Hahn for these same failures.
  24. Also, can we stop using injuries to Eloy and Moncada as an excuse? One should expect these two guys to be injured more often than they actually play at this point. To a lesser extent, Robert is starting to show the same signs of being injury-prone just like those two.
  25. When has a JR owned Sox team gone after the big fish? They will do what they always do in free agency and spread their money out on a bunch of mediocre players, rather than signing one star that could out-WAR their entire offseason. It’s sad but true and it doesn’t matter who the GM is — Getz, Hahn, or Kenny. It’s Jerry’s call. He doesn’t believe in paying the price that top free agents cost. It will be more of the same strategy — sign mediocre, mid-level or lower tier free agents and hope they match their career years.
