  1. Yep, but I think teams view Fields as having more perceived value because of his athleticism. If he figures it out, he could be a Lamar Jackson type. Mac Jones can only rely on his arm.
  2. Mac Jones is an immobile turnstile with a questionable arm. I don’t think his value reflects much on Fields. Fields may only be worth a 3rd rounder but it won’t be because of Mac Jones.
  3. Bears interested in Saquon Barkley. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39687846/nfl-scouts-executives-predict-saquon-barkley-next-deal
  4. I’m starting to question the defense thing, the more I see Sheets in RF. Also, Maldonado has aged and could just be bad now. The only true improvement will probably be the middle infield with DeJong and Lopez but their awful bats will counter what their gloves bring.
  5. I guess YAY that we signed Maldonado for twice as much as Grandal since he will actually play… but is Maldonado playing actually a good thing?!? ?
  6. Agreed, I’d go over on Moncada and under on Vaughn but I truly believe Robert and Eloy are the only sure bets to be above a .750 OPS. How did a multi-year rebuild end up with this lineup? My god, I’m serious when I say this but I think an average Sox fan could’ve built a better team with no GM experience and some contract advisors, than what Kenny and Hahn left Getz with and what Getz continued on with. I do agree with your list of pitchers to watch. I am hopeful for all of them and will be tuning in especially for Leasure, Berroa, Bush, and Garcia. I also love the irony of us having a bench of Moustakas, Pillar, and Stassi considering all the years we had terrible bench players. Now we acquire all of them 3 to 5 years too late.
  7. I was thinking about this some more and our lineup literally has 7 starters/platoons that could struggle to hit a league average .750 OPS. Anyone who is hopeful for our offense is insane. The pitching may pan out just because Getz acquired so many options, but the lineup is likely going to be epically horrible. LF Benintendi 3B Moncada 1B Vaughn RF Fletcher / Pillar (Sheets if Fletcher fails) C Maldonado / Stassi SS DeJong 2B Lopez
  8. Bottom 3?!? More like bottom 4, maybe even bottom 5 if Vaughn is his same mediocre sub-.750 OPS self. Now think if Benintendi repeats his even worse season (.682 OPS) than Vaughn at the top of our order? Now think if Eloy and Moncada get injured as usual? A Fletcher/Pillar platoon in RF, and then Sheets if Fletcher struggles? This seriously has the potential to be one of the worst offenses in Sox history due to the quality and injury proneness of the starting lineup. The backs of their baseball cards don’t lie…
  9. He was looking awful for like the past 3 seasons of Curb. Looks like he was dying a slow death.
  10. Richard Lewis, not Dennis Miller. I can’t even look at Cheryl Hines now after her most recent plastic surgery. She looks like a fake wax sculpture.
  11. Canaan Smith-Njigba has an .887 OPS, 3 homers, and 2 stolen bases this Spring. Yes, it’s only Spring Training but Getz couldn’t dare give up a guy like Scholtens or another scrub on the 40-man roster for him.
  12. Latest and final season. Hilarious stuff. I highly advise…
  13. Not sure Wisdom would be the odd man out since they gave him $2.725 million and he’s a nice power bat to have on the bench. But I agree with you. Davis has normally been bad defensively at 3B, but he was pretty good last year. Maybe it was just a fluke year though. But not sure the Cubs could get by with Morel at any spot other than DH and Madrigal swings a wet newspaper.
  14. I think the Cubs should and will be all over Davis at that price and short commitment for their hole at 3B. Christopher Morel has a glove like Sheets. He’s basically a DH. And Madrigal is, well Madrigal.
  15. Any idea on what his fastball was at?
  16. Keller is a known name but he’s absolutely terrible. Check out his hot WHIP over the past three seasons.
  17. It’s amazing. He has done nothing with his bat or glove to make even the dumbest baseball fan think he should be a starting DH, but the Sox seem to think he is a worthy part-time RF. How do these people have jobs?
  18. Good point. He better turn it around. Paying $16.5 for under league average WAR this season would be putrid. Because you know he will stay at the top of the lineup regardless with Grifol around.
  19. 4-11. Almost last place. https://www.mlb.com/standings
  20. True. Further proof that half the starting lineup has no business being starters on an MLB ball club.
  21. After seeing the playing time Sheets has received over the past couple seasons and where he has played, while being awful with both the bat and the glove, I don’t think we can assume the Sox will make the no brainer decision here. The Sox think he’s good because he’s a lefty and is perceived to have power.
  22. Cheap/free Sox tickets being forced on kids is the equivalent of sitting in the corner and staring at the wall with a dunce cap on. ?
  23. Other teams must envy us…
