The only types of trades that would make sense is if they: 1.) Trade mediocre to nothing prospects for a meh rental starter. 2.) Trade Jacob Gonzalez and lesser prospects for a youngish starter with additional years of control. #2 is probably a stretch and expecting too much.

I thought both brothers were involved, including their father as well. Mathis is tearing it up on the minors but he’s only in Single A and turns 23 next month. Probably worth it since the Cubs need just about any starter they get their filthy hands with all of their injuries. Cubs are banking on Peterson being much better with their infield defense, as opposed to the Mets’…Shouldn’t we all want this to happen? He has more power than Meidroth and it looks like he will hit for a higher AVG with a higher OBP.
